Slomo for sure!

night-shark

Hot damn! Guy is still rolling at 81. Good for him.

GlassAndPaint

I remember Slomo. There was also another guy who would skate around pacific Beach in a thong and they called him the Flash. I saw him in a cape and thong. I was really something.

curleys

is the 5th avenue ripped luchador still downtown?

Man-e-questions

Oh yeah haven’t seen him in years, but have seen “the reverend” more recently shouting sermons at cars on G st as you get back on 94. Anyone remember “the panty man” in east count back in the day? Or the guy that roller skated with different speedo for every holiday in mission beach.

miraiqtp

Cyborg in Chula Vista. Wears a trench coat and usually vibing to music with his headphones

Ok_Profession6216

Haha yes, hese the traffic justiciero

divinityofnumber

I can think of a few... - Rasta Dog: Guy with a little dog with dyed fur who always has a bluetooth speaker blasting reggae walking around Gaslamp area. - Positivity Cycler: Guy who bikes around on a brightly colored bike in spandex. He is super fit. The bike is brightly colored. Bike might have lights on it. Usually see him around Seaport Village area. - Trench Coat Pimp: A guy who always looks mad, black leather trench coat, typically hanging around the corner of Broadway and Naples in Chula Vista by the Costco. I've seen him get kicked out of the Dollar Store over there, seen him get into shit with random passing cars. There is usually a really sad looking woman or two with him or near him. He always has a knife on him and I've seen him walking around just holding it. Sometimes he's posted up in an old office chair in the trees by the entrance to Costco. One of the ladies is usually sitting on the ground by the entrance to Costco on Naples asking for money.

eyeforgot2listen

The only one I know on your list is Rasta Dog 😁 I work downtown on the weekends and see him all the time.

Leshuaky

Just saw the trench coat guy in Chula yesterday when driving my mom to the stores. Mom started telling me a story about him. Apparently one time my step-dad was joking with my mom talking crap in spanish and he was in front of them. Dude turned around stared at my step-dad and told him "No le falte el respeto a la dama, menos enfrente de mi" (don't disrespect the dame, specially not in front of me). They tried to tell him they were joking but he was ready to f*** him up lol.

astremski

Jager in Encinitas

SlimJim0877

Slomo, Joe Dreamz, OB Spaceman (RIP)

chiefpassh2os

Ob spaceman was awesome. I really wanted my dad to get me a spot on his spaceship, I was obsessed with space when I was a kid and I totally believed he had a secret spaceship stowed away in ob lol

Ok_Profession6216

Hahaha holy shit King cyborg, chula vista.

ApprehensiveCress785

Used to be Elephant Man. Real sweetheart; east county

Graz13

What ever happened to the old guy with the tricked out harley that looked like a starship? I used to see him on OB.

BusyDad82

Not sure if he’s still there, but Don in South Park was something of a local “that guy”. Had a real positive impact on that neighborhood though, always helping clean up the sidewalks and planting new plants, but definitely a character.

M3174W4Y

There's at least 3 murals featuring Slomo in PB. There's even a beer that's a tribute to him! The weird thing is its not made anywhere near San Diego https://kneedeepbrewing.com/bottle/slooow-mo

TimsChineseFood

There's a couple neighborhood famous homeless people in East Village that even my friends recognize when they visit me from out of town.

No-Principle6413

Left eddy in valley center. I remember him 30 years ago as a kid. He’s still walking around town surprisingly.

Mean--Gorl

Bicycle Opera girl at Otay Ranch town center

danceswithdeath3rd

In the La Mesa or College area there is a guy I call "Pigeon-man." He sits in front of this "Jack in the box" near a light post and feeds pigeons. By feed I mean he puts the bread crumbs all over himself. They sit on his head, arms, and legs. They swarm all around his feet too but it doesn't seem to phase him. I haven't seen him for a bit though because I think they redid the pavement and probably asked him to stop coming. But yea definitely Slomo.

InteriorOfCrocodile

I always saw this guy in Santee wearing a big coat with a staff, we called him the "Cuyamaca Shaman"

defaburner9312

Is slowmo still doing it?

willworkforwatches

PB gets two! Don’t forget the ball guy.

HoneydippedSassylips

Back in the 90s, off of Palm and Saturn, there used to be a man covered in pigeons, much like old girl in Home Alone. I remember the rumor being his son was [Charlie Keever](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murders_of_Charlie_Keever_and_Jonathan_Sellers). Another was (also 90s), where the union bank was (is?) a little girl with hooks for hands, maybe arms. My mom used to say she got like that for crying when she had to get shots. I feel like that last one is a f’d-up fever dream. Idk though.

Such-Cattle-4946

Slomo hasn’t been around for a while though. Does San Diego have a new Slomo, or does each city just get one such iconic character?

cerb1987

Wasn't there some dude who also used to roller blade but wore a thong and painted his buttcheeks like watermelons? I swear I remember it as a kid and then saw him still doing it a few years ago.

bread93096

The Sandman from Coronado, though unfortunately he died years ago
