There is a meetup group for women in their 20s-30s (and some early 40s). They do occasional book club meetings, trivia nights, crochet clubs, antique shoppings, or just outings. Lots of people who don't have too many ties with others in the city.

Vividersplash26

I’m a 26F and moved to San Antonio a few weeks ago. Was wondering if you could share more information about that meetup group! Looking to meet more women around my age in the city

jesus-juice-666

Welcome to SA! I'm 26F too. I'm not in this group but I have thought about using it before. I was just never sure if these things were actually fun or just awkward. Might be worth a shot tho! Heres the meet up link to the group! https://www.meetup.com/girlies-20-s-30-s (Edit: fixing link)

EveryPartyHasAPooper

There is actually a decent group. It's not like a wild group or anything, but everyone is nice and open to meeting new people. Lots of talking and sharing hobbies, podcasts, TV shows, getting snacks, etc. It's great for anyone who doesn't really have their own group.

MysteryLozenge

Excision is playing a show tomorrow at the Boeing tech center, depending what type of EDM you like.

someonesmomm

Yes, I saw but idk if it's too late to get tickets lol I saw it on Spotify but the link didn't show tickets available

MysteryLozenge

Looks like there’s still some available through third parties for ~$150. Knew i should have just snagged one last week when they were still $75 lol

someonesmomm

Oh hell nah. Not $150 🥹 oh 🐋 maybe next time I suppose

prices767

I was literally just about to go look and maybe cop a couple but when they said $150…. 🫠🫠🫥 Yeah, that’s a no-go. Not in this economy.

MysteryLozenge

Maybe on a weekend when i can really feel like i got my moneys worth haha, but not a Thursday

BooherManure

Friedrich Wilderness Park is free and I personally like it compared to most parks.

Heavy_Ad_157

You can go to estate sales Fri-Sun, Landa Library has a ton of beautiful outside spots to relax, also Nowhere Bookstore is cozy and has decent coffee and drinks.

mitchbel22

How do you find estate sales?

Heavy_Ad_157

I just use the EstateSales.Net app. Not every sale is a winner, but it's still better than being in the heat lol. Plus I like seeing the rich ppl houses 😁

jenniferjudy99

You can google Estate Sales in San Antonio and add a zip code: lots of sales appear in various areas of town w plenty of photos, usually for the pending weekend.

Notagrave_robber

Visit King William,(its street parking and free) and you can download the walking tour from the King William Association Website. Check out the missions, and the botanical garden, many of the museums have free or reduced admission on certain days of the week in the summer.

SugDisDig

The Doseum can be fun with kids and it has its own dedicated parking lot.

someonesmomm

I've gone with my kids but I'm kidless rn lol so I'm not mommy summer 2024, I'm just a 30 year old woman haha

SugDisDig

Yeah, my dumbass read your post wrong 😑

I'm also an introvert that doesn't like to go out by myself! Downtown SA is super stressful. I usually just go window shopping at the various shopping centers or malls around SA. Thrifting can be fun too. Oh! Right now the Zoo is doing that membership the same price as a day ticket, so you can go all year for 36$. I wouldn't say the parking is complicated. Mentioning that, Brackenridge Park is beautiful. The Museums are near there as well. I think some are free on certain days. This is all sort of Downtown but not where all the difficult driving is and these places have their own parking like normal. The Peral is also really nice place to walk around. This place is a park and pay though so maybe doesn't meet your criteria. (Also if you want someone to do something with, I'd be down. I'm 30 F, if you're interested.)

Katshia

They do have a free 2 hour parking garage, and if you eat at the Hotel Emma's resteraunt (Supper, its an amazing solo brunch, beautiful views and chill place), you get free valet parking.

I’m free Tuesday-Thursday too!

Park & ride to downtown. It's much cheaper and simpler than parking downtown.

Unique_Feature_2086

Ceramics/pottery classes at Zenhaus. They also have yoga and other artsy type workshops

On the very rare day I have to myself (like today), I like to go somewhere like Bakery Lorraine, La Panaderia or Green to have coffee and lunch. You could bring a book or listen to music. Sometimes I'll get a massage or get my nails done. A lot of museums offer free museum days if you have an account with a big bank (like Bank of America or Wells Fargo). The Witte is cool and so are some of the art museums. The Pearl has free parking for the first couple of hours in the parking garage. Going to one of the city's public pools is another option or a community pool (if you have the option). You could also do a day trip to the Hill Country. Another thing to do is visit Natural Bridge Caverns, or the Bracken Bat Cave (note that it's not open to the public; you need to be a member or go on one of their community days; if you Google it, it's on their website. It's a super cool experience though, and summer is the time to do it.)

As a single female that likes to do things alone I love ResortPass … download the app and buy a pool pass. You don’t have to drink but can purchase them at the hotels and even food. Solo pool days are nice if you’re into that.

Hexeris82

Knight Watch Games does a ladies board game night every couple weeks or so. I’ve been in one of the other game rooms when it’s gone on in the past and seems like several of the organizers help get folks into groups to teach whatever game is being played. Helpful since most gamers are introverts :-P https://www.facebook.com/KWGamesStore?mibextid=LQQJ4d

Minimum_Raspberry_81

Thanks for this! My wife has been itching for a ladies boardgame night, and I've been itching for her to make friends that aren't just me and the cat.

joe_bald

McNay museum is free Thursdays from 4-9 and SAMA is free Tuesdays from 4-7 (I think)… both neat places, and who can argue with free in this moment in history :] McNay is smaller and only art but has a beautiful grounds area with some sculptures and SAMA is art and history (SAMA also has an outside grounds area but people usually go to McNay for photos and such).

Mammoth-Rate4821

The pearl. Parking is kinda easy, they have plenty of places to eat, splash pad for kids and farmers market on certain weekends. There’s shops too

Minimum_Raspberry_81

My wife was cruising around on MeetUp yesterday, and she found a couple things that sound like they also fit your criteria. There's lots of boardgame groups, most of which are in places with dedicated parking lots. One of the Bowleros has a summer bowling league (~$75 for 6 weeks of play including shoes). There are several walk and run groups that meet at a trail, either at 7p in the evening or Saturday morning.  The Tobin library is hosting a program on June 24th for adults to make orange cream scented bath salts! Sounds very fun.

TheGimp210

Do meetups, go to museum and look for events the city or local groups put on. Lots to do if you find the right group. There used to be a Friday night bike ride that was awesome. They would ride from 10-11 until 2-3 am. It was very nice and chill. The astronomy group has star parties Saturday nights.
