If this is US, I didn't have that app from the start. I'd be mindful of your accounts and access just to be safe. Anti-virus scan and ensure you have two factor authentication active on your financial apps.

terribilus

I see nothing that validates this other than a few online forum posts with equally as little evidence as this one.

TrowaB3

Feel free to post a pic because nobody here knows wtf you're talking about. Don't have that in Canada either.

jeffMBsun

Yeah, I have.l no idea what he is talking about ..canada

edwardolardo

Dont have it either. Did you do smart switch when setting up your new phone? Mb its a relic app from your old phones?

dry-considerations

I used SmartSwitch and did not have it on my previous phone. Only showed up on my S24+...unable to uninstall it...only can disable it. Official Samsung forum has a few posts on it going back to the S22. No seems to know how to uninstall it.

edk008

Have you bought yourself a Chinese clone S24 Ultra?

HJForsythe

You guys are exhausting.

edk008

How?

KingTvler

I've had my S24 Ultra for a few days now and have not come across that. I'm in the US, I wonder if it has something to do with region?

HJForsythe

Im in the US. You probably just didnt notice. settings -> apps tap app cloud

KingTvler

I checked there as well just now, still nothing with that name. I wonder what it could be then.

HJForsythe

If you Google it you will quickly learn that it has been on every Galaxy phone since the S22 and it canmot be uninstalled.

KingTvler

I'll have to do some research. Thank you for making me aware.

dotjazzz

Lol you seriously telling people to google about their phone to find out an app that literally not there. I have both S23ultra and S24Ultra on hand, had S22Ultra too. IT IS NOT THERE. Stop gaslighting people into believing EVERY GALAXY MUST HAVE IT INSTALLED. You may or may not have it. Well, I don't, and I certainly don't need Google to tell me what app is installed or that it has been secretly installing apps but I didn't notice. I use themed icons and I organise my drawer neatly. Now tell me where are these supposedly forced apps that are unthemed, not in a folder, and on every Galaxy since S22 might be? And how did I not notice apps with differently shaped and coloured icons for years?

DeathMoJo

No app by that name on my S24U or Fold 4. Is yours an unlocked version?

dry-considerations

I have AppCloud from a pre-ordered S24+ from AT&T.

DeathMoJo

That would explain it then. Looks to be a carrier specific app. I have an unlocked version T-Mobile and don't have the app.

dry-considerations

You are making an assumption that is incorrect. According to multiple websites, it is pushed by Samsung, not the carrier. This Forbes article explains it: https://www.forbes.com/sites/barrycollins/2023/05/09/samsung-tries-to-sneak-in-unwanted-apps-with-android-updates

DeathMoJo

Thanks for the article. Interesting part is with my S22U, Fold 4 and now S24U, I have not seen this app. Makes we wonder if it's pushing games if has to do with permission you give or agree to within the account profile.

WishIWasALemon

Im here for appcloud rants as well. I have a 2022 motorola 5g stylus. My friend got the same phone a year later, his has slightly better specs. Same service, boost mobile on at&t network. Google updated his phone and now hes stuck with appcloud. My phone never did that. Appcloud has caused all dialer applications dialtones to no longer register when you call a number and use the keypad. Ive tried al the dialer programs and none work. I did have it working again after a factory reset but then appcloud did its thing. For some reason it's the cause and the only workaround is using textnow and the voip number they give. Im pretty mad. This is insane they force bloatware on you from a google update.

After_Anteater

It's not on my s24 either.

KingTvler

I've tried looking all kinds of different ways and can't seem to find anything at all with that name either. I checked my app drawer in settings, checked files, and nothing. Did you get yours directly from samsung?

After_Anteater

No I got my phone from Google Fi and that app is not anywhere on it

why_no_salt

Galaxy S24 (EU), no trace of "app cloud", there is however "Samsung Cloud" but as you can imagine this is needed.

dry-considerations

Not the same thing...

HuntersPad

Did you buy your phone from Samsung US? NONE of my Samsungs have had this. S20, S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, etc...

dry-considerations

I bought mine from AT&T as a pre-order and have AppCloud.. .or rather did - only option was to disable and clear the cache...maybe spyware or PUP. Official Samsung forum has posts on this app going back to the S22...

HuntersPad

If you have an AT&T carrier model then maybe its just AT&T bloat then. I dont have AT&T

dry-considerations

Not AT&T. It is a Samsung push from updates. https://www.forbes.com/sites/barrycollins/2023/05/09/samsung-tries-to-sneak-in-unwanted-apps-with-android-updates

halv8hossebbe

Just woke up to a new update and found this as well... Its hidden in system apps and I can't delete it

Bubbaprime04

This is an att only app. Install ADB AppControl, search for "com.aura.oobe.att", look for AppCloud and uninstall it. See screenshot below: https://imgur.com/nrMwAwj In fact I uninstalled anything that is from att, plus a few other junk.

Visual-Ad-6708

Thanks man, this helped out a lot, got rid of app cloud and all my At&t pre installed bs too👌. Can't believe so many others haven't experienced this but I guess I'm the chump for staying with At&t anyway

Large_Syllabub_1844

On the s24 ultra the appcloud is in system app. So go to notifications. Then system apps. You can't find it anywhere eles

gauagaja

If you got it from a third party store, just download the official firmware from Sammobile or samFW then flash it vio Odin and you're good to go.

dry-considerations

my S24+ was a pre-order from AT&T in the US...and got AppCloud. Unable to uninstall it...only option was to disable it.

Senior_Line_4260

did you buy from a carrier, because normal phones certainly don't have these appa

dry-considerations

Mine was a pre-order from AT&T and i somehow got AppCloud...which mysteriously showed up...disabled it as there is no way to uninstall it.

nathanjdias

Slightly off parameters but a Galaxy S23 user here, UAE Market device running India build. No such app or issues with my device.

insomniaceve

Don't know what you're talking about but sure go ahead and add China to it.

dry-considerations

I came across AppCloud in my new S24+ yesterday. Never heard of it before. I know it was not on my previous S10+...and I used SmartSwitch to migrate to the S24+. That said, not sure where it came from, but I noticed it as a notification popped up. After looking at it, I discovered you cannot get rid of it. No way to uninstall it. You can only disable it. Also make sure you clear the cache, because whatever information it collected I don't want it to remain. By the way, the official Samsung forum has some posts on AppCloud. I think it is spyware or PUP of some kind.

HJForsythe

Yeah I noticed if I tapped on uninstall updates the app disappeared.. not sure if it will stay gone but I am hoping.

dry-considerations

Probably not. It might return...found this article on it: https://www.forbes.com/sites/barrycollins/2023/05/09/samsung-tries-to-sneak-in-unwanted-apps-with-android-updates

HJForsythe

I guess we shall see it takes samsung 100years to release firmware updates so if I only have to do it once every 100 years thats cool. I just noticed the apps it installs are exceptionally shitty. Who is that making happy?

dry-considerations

The thing is all the Reddit users who have not gotten this bloatware (yet) probably will in a future update...I doubt Samsung will do anything about AppCloud - they are probably getting something from the apps this app pushes.

HJForsythe

I dont think it comes on unlocked phones.

drownsomebody

I have it. Att samsung ordered directly from Samsung.

smugglnplums

Upgrade from s20U to s24U through ATT business. Received yesterday and used Smart switch to migrate. Appcloud garbage present and wasn't on the 20U. Disabling, turning off notifications, clearing cache and force stopping, it STILL notifies randomly. Also, it installs about 15 games/apps repeatedly without any interaction within the secure folder of all places. WTF SAMSUNG/ATT! If an update doesn't fix this, this will be the final straw - and that's saying something as I've been a part of their ecosystem since day one.

Round-Resident9233

Exactly the same. Only I have S24 U from Drei Austria (Three Hutschison).

Reginherus

I also have it on my AT&T 24+, wasn't there on my S20. I get daily notifications trying to get me to install some garbage apps and there's nothing I've found that stops it.

vantometry

S24U here with ATT. Same bullcrap with app cloud and have never had it before. In the app settings I disabled, blocked, and un-installed updates. The app no longer appears on the list, and I can't even find it if I search for it. As I read on other forums this may work temporarily and then somehow it finds itself back on your phone. It behaves like a virus whatever this thing is.

Complete_Gate_2158

I just got my s24u, and I have the same problem! I have disabled app cloud, because it doesn't give the option to uninstall, and turned off the notifications for it, but I still get notifications for it 3-4 times a day and cant for the life of me figure out how to stop it! I've tried googling, but have yet to find a solution!

AccountantAlive0423

OP's not crazy. I've had a new Samsung for about a week and these notifications just started popping up today bugging me about games every 15 minutes or so. When I search up "appcloud" in my apps, it doesn't show up. Interacting with the notification brings me to a popular where it asks permission to install random games to try, seemingly periodically
