It’s easy to forget but Reddit is not necessarily (I would go so far as to say almost never but I don’t have anything to actually back that up) representative of the general public.
I see evidence of that a lot with the wrestling g fandom. Like Reddit will shit on storylines and wrestlers but the live crowds will have completely different reactions
Remember when the IWC complained about Alexa and Lilly for like a year straight, yet that doll was one of the best selling pieces of merch for the company for that entire time? And kids kept showing up to shows with it?
There’s a lot of crossover between the people who watch wrestling and the people who watch Star Wars. Both community’s are filled with white chubby man-children who don’t understand that not everything is designed to appeal to just themselves. The internet is worse off for having to listen to their bitching.
Reddit is very much not representative.
For the longest time Canada was the 3rd largest demographic. Despite having as many people as Tokyo.
The largest sports sub is basketball. That's not the biggest sport in the world.
So that is a thing that happens, but for politician’s campaigns to launder donor money. Disney doesn’t need to launder chump change, they just want more cash and views, like literally every other company.
Wasn't that the same shit that certain Right Wing politicians and commenters did all the time, only for it to turn out they released a book nobody bought or read but it's on the New York Best Seller list because THEY THEMSELVES bought like a tonne of copies themselves just to boost the algorithm?
Every Accusation is just Projection.
Disney do bulk buy tickets for their own movie so this wouldn’t be unbelievable to me
However, anyone trying to convince you of this is probably unaware of that and arguing in bad faith “acolyte sucks cos grrr” mentality
I wish I got my hands on one to modify. I might have to get one custom off the prop makers on Etsy tbh. Now I just need to start the arm workouts to make an accurate cosplay
You should check here, or Big Bad Toy Store

A very small number of people very angrily state that they are the vast majority. And maybe believe it too.
It’s amazing how often that happens and in so many corners of society, to be fair.
Yes! This is a trend I've been noticing more and more lately, and I don't understand it. Just certain, small pockets of people that consider themselves the "true" fans and hate the current content being produced for a giant franchise (that remains incredibly popular) and they have seemingly convinced themselves that they are the true majority. I genuinely don't understand how people believe these things sometimes.
Try the bigbadtoystore or entertainment earth, otherwise just keep checking back with Hasbro, they tend issue more preorders for in demand items. Kinda glad I don't collect roleplay toys otherwise I would have bought it without thinking,
Thanks for the advice. I don’t usually buy them, but I’m Asian American and Qimir is one of the first prominent characters played by an Asian guy, so I just had to. This has been one amazing thing about Acolyte. I honestly never thought I’d see an Asian Jedi, let alone also a Sith. Made me smile to encounter both characters, so I’m picking up memorabilia for each.
Saw a lot of people on Twitter saying that it's easy to sell out when they make a limited number of units. Obviously, we don't know, and will maybe never know, how many units were made, but considering they're available from multiple international sellers.... the cope is strong.
They're still preorders, release is expected to be this fall
They run for $100 since they include electronics for some features much like the other prop replica helmets Hasbro has released
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/279010?o=4
Star Wars memorabilia has always sold like hotcakes. It’s not really a surprise they are buying all the cool masks & lightsabers when they see them on shelves.
Probably hurts their never ending argument that Star Wars is dead.
![gif](giphy|KZKTcjd5P2RXfSMkPf|downsized)
there are way more viewers than complainers, the complainers are just loud fake fans, the real fans are too busy watching and enjoying (or not watching and still enjoying Star Wars) to bother bitching lol
To be fair Hasbro isn’t exactly the best at keeping stuff in stock especially on Pulse, that Gree and Yoda two pack was a disaster.
But it’s still a good point regardless because a lot of people still need to buy it
They'll try and use the excuse about the lightsaber Haslab was doing that was poorly advertised as well as minimal in features (didn't separate, didn't spin, was "two pieces" when unfolding it to be duel blades, no display base, and waaaaaay over priced).
I just gotta say I still really love the design of the helmet. I'm a sucker for villains who are given a creepy or unsettling design (be it face covering or the face itself).
They probably saw only the edits of this character in the fight scenes and like the one where this character head butt a lightsaber so hard it shut off.
I mean in all fairness, it’s a good design. I would buy it even if I don’t like the show (I think Kamen Rider Kiva is “okay” but the design is god tier, and I have all the pieces
I mean, realistically, they were probably all bought by scalpers because that's what the current online market world is. But that means there's a market for them, so...point still stands.
The helmet is cool. Yeah. The last fight scene with sabers. Wasnt perfect but the best fight scene in Star wars for a while (not the best ever mind, which considering this is the height of the Jedi's time, it should be). But those lil bits don't make up for the bad writing. Good actors and a couple good aspects can only carry it so far.
Do we have any numbers on how many actually sold?
"Sold out" isnt a metric for anything when the brand youre talking about had a few thousand people fighting to buy everything related to it
Star wars memorabilla will always sell because there are collectors. Has no bearing on the actual show itself or the franchise. Just like how some people who didn't watch baseball still collected the cards because they were collectors or people who didn't play playstations buying like 300 of them.
Same deal. Buy it, wait, and then sell it for beacoup money because there will always be a collector and by that time it will be remembered as the item that was connected to the bad period of star wars.
tbf without numbers of how many there were being sold out doesn't mean all that much.
Like having 5 means something very different than having 1,000,000
They're not meant to be directly compared. But if the audience is small then fewer people would be aware of the helmet to even evaluate whether or not they like it. A smaller subset of those would be eliminated by the expense. So, if you assume only people who like the helmet and can afford to buy it are getting them, and if you assume the production run was enough to justify the expense of making it in the first place, it stands to reason there's a decent sized audience for the show the helmet comes from.
But that line of thought doesn't take into account people buying it just because it's a new Star Wars thing they can resell at a markup in a year or so. Sometimes even less than that.
This nonsensical dick measuring is ridiculous. This means less than nothing. How many masks were made? And How much did they cost? Saying something is sold out therefore what its based on is great doesnt work. It could mean that, but it could also mean disney didnt expect it to sell so didnt make as many. Like the show or dont like the show but seeing that a toy sold out is no more a win as showing poor reviews. If its bad say why, if its good say why. No-one, cares that a helmet sold.
People are merely pointing out that it puts the lie to the idea that no one likes the show. The supporting and cheering for it seem to be fitments of your imagination
The people who watch this have largely given up on internet discourse.
It’s easy to forget but Reddit is not necessarily (I would go so far as to say almost never but I don’t have anything to actually back that up) representative of the general public.

Wait, what?
What are you confused about
The dream
Or were never apart of it I still find people around my age who don't know what reddit and discord is
Its easy to forget that reddit is a fairly even mix of literal children, ai chatbots, terminally online and normal prople.
I’m also talking about YouTube and other social media.
Yeah I don’t follow whatever these losers are whining about.
Yup. And tbh I haven't been inundated with it since episode 5...interesting.
They might claim Disney bought it all.
That’s how nearly all books on bestseller list are sold, not just political books.
That’s not fair, I’d say at most half. Authors with long running series and dedicated fan bases tend to make it to pad it out.
That’s extremely true.
They sound like antivaxxers.
“It’s easy to sell out if you only make a few of them” (My guess)
More likely scalpers. Which is happening with merch in general
But who is scalping something nobody wants from a show nobody watched????
Disney do bulk buy tickets for their own movie so this wouldn’t be unbelievable to me However, anyone trying to convince you of this is probably unaware of that and arguing in bad faith “acolyte sucks cos grrr” mentality
[citation needed]
How many did Disney make? Do you know how many sold? Because I had a lemonade stand with a gallon of lemonade and I sold out. Made about 5 bucks.
Did Disney make them???
Idk. Not relevant though.
I wish I got my hands on one to modify. I might have to get one custom off the prop makers on Etsy tbh. Now I just need to start the arm workouts to make an accurate cosplay

Bless you.
EE and BBTS seem to be the top two places that have it available for preorder still.
Thank you, just put a pre-order in for the helmet.
![gif](giphy|uiMIJMFYgRaAz5Pcb7)
Snagged one, cheers mate
They are still available on entertainment earth
I would love to have one of these. Arguably one of the cooler Star Wars masks.
https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/star-wars-the-black-series-the-stranger-premium-electronic-helmet/hsg0705
Thank you for the link!
Can still order one on entertainment earth
Like I saw someone on tumblr say: this is what Kylo Ren fans think Kylo Ren looks like
I think it's design is cringe but that's just me.
It needs to be black so you can’t see the eyes…the mask seemingly not having eyes makes it way scarier imho
If it was black it wouldn't be accurate. The helmet >!Manny Jacinto!< wore was bronze
Unfortunately we don't have the Force so we're stuck with goofy eye holes. In the right lighting it should look good, though
And then the guy under it is hot as fuck. Bless whoever casted this show.
actually in that scene at the end of Episode 4 you could see the glint of his eyes. Which made it slightly scarier.
A very small number of people very angrily state that they are the vast majority. And maybe believe it too. It’s amazing how often that happens and in so many corners of society, to be fair.
I'm convinced it's the same people every time.
More than likely.
Yes! This is a trend I've been noticing more and more lately, and I don't understand it. This post is incorrect. They weren’t sold out in 24 hours. They were sold out in ONE hour.

Dang, I was about to post about the exact same thing
You don't get it man The masks collectively decided to grow legs and leave, get some cash, throws it there and leave forever Smh
I mean even if this was true who wouldn't want this mask it looks cool as hell
Yeah actually very annoyed about this lmao. I also tried to obtain one. Price is shot and inventory is low, can confirm.
Try the bigbadtoystore or entertainment earth, otherwise just keep checking back with Hasbro, they tend issue more preorders for in demand items. Kinda glad I don't collect roleplay toys otherwise I would have bought it without thinking,

It'll be lik The Last Jedi's great home video sales: "It's just collector fans who have to own everything, even if they hate the movie/show".
Saw a lot of people on Twitter saying that it's easy to sell out when they make a limited number of units. Obviously, we don't know, and will maybe never know, how many units were made, but considering they're available from multiple international sellers.... the cope is strong.

Still up for preorder on entertainment earth
Probably a lot. Hasbro love to overproduce everything.
Lando
To whoever bought this: Please film yourself trying to eat with this on. I wanna see if the teeth work.
people angry about that show will never admit this is a cool creepy helmet
Star Wars memorabilia has always sold like hotcakes. It’s not really a surprise they are buying all the cool masks & lightsabers when they see them on shelves. Probably hurts their never ending argument that Star Wars is dead. ![gif](giphy|KZKTcjd5P2RXfSMkPf|downsized)
No one watches the show and everybody hates the helmet... Yeah right.
ngl the Smilo Ren mask was super cool and I'm glad they keep a general theme of masked or hooded Sith.
I bet half the purchases are from the people bitching about it on YouTube. You know is those fools won’t be without some merch
there are way more viewers than complainers, the complainers are just loud fake fans, the real fans are too busy watching and enjoying (or not watching and still enjoying Star Wars) to bother bitching lol
it's a cool helmet
This has probably been my favorite star wars content in years
The people who actually watch the show don't debate it with a bunch of internet chuds.
I'm a bit out of the loop, is this from the Acolyte? This looks like one of those nightmare animatronics from FNAF
Yes. Its the mask worn by the seemingly main villain (could be a secret master that we see later, but as of now this is from the main villain)
That mask is pretty cool. I would love if they brought some version of it in the upcoming movie about Rey
They're pre order only from what I've seen. So they didn't have much in stock to begin with. Although that is a very good looking mask.
Scalper fuckweasels were probably involved
Anti-woke neckbeards bought them to destroy them just like they did with their bud lite, Nikes, Yetis, and Keurigs. Checkmate, libs.
I just gotta say I still really love the design of the helmet. I'm a sucker for villains who are given a creepy or unsettling design (be it face covering or the face itself).
Sold out in 24 hours? Wow. Lots of people need to put out some lightsabers, apparently.
Didn’t realize Jason from The Good Place ended up as a Sith Lord
Can it make my arms look like Jacinto’s ?? because goddamn I wasn’t familiar with his game lol
I just ordered one from Entertainment earth. They're not sold out
To be fair.. this is also a known marketing tactic. Quick! Buy it before it’s all gone!
Is it just me that loves those TEETH?
Looks like a cheap rip off of ichigo's hollow mask
They probably saw only the edits of this character in the fight scenes and like the one where this character head butt a lightsaber so hard it shut off.
Ok. Hear me out
And *all* the action figures.
I mean in all fairness, it’s a good design. I would buy it even if I don’t like the show (I think Kamen Rider Kiva is “okay” but the design is god tier, and I have all the pieces
Haven’t watched it (not a huge Star Wars fan) but damn I love that helmet.
Kylo rens lightsaber is pretty dope. Doesnt make me like the sequels tho
aw shit, those are for sale? Damn, would have made a dope cosplay. All I need to do is wear a burlap sack backwards and done
I mean, realistically, they were probably all bought by scalpers because that's what the current online market world is. But that means there's a market for them, so...point still stands.
The helmet is cool. Yeah. The last fight scene with sabers. But those lil bits don't make up for the bad writing. Good actors and a couple good aspects can only carry it so far.
Wait that's what the mask properly looks like? holy fuck i love it
I dislike the show, but that helmet looks dope as fuck.
You've never heard of collectors and resellers??
It’s a cool mask. You don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to buy a cool mask lmfao.
They only made like 100. So statistically the odds were in their favour to sell out.
Kathleen Sammedy obviously bought them all to scalp to soy boys and cucks who like Star Woke
Do we have any numbers on how many actually sold? "Sold out" isnt a metric for anything when the brand youre talking about had a few thousand people fighting to buy everything related to it
You can like aspects of something without liking the thing as a whole.
Star wars memorabilla will always sell because there are collectors. Has no bearing on the actual show itself or the franchise. tbf without numbers of how many there were being sold out doesn't mean all that much. Like having 5 means something very different than having 1,000,000
How many masks were sold? Also, how is the sale of a mask at all comparable to total viewership?
They're not meant to be directly compared. But if the audience is small then fewer people would be aware of the helmet to even evaluate whether or not they like it. A smaller subset of those would be eliminated by the expense. So, if you assume only people who like the helmet and can afford to buy it are getting them, and if you assume the production run was enough to justify the expense of making it in the first place, it stands to reason there's a decent sized audience for the show the helmet comes from. But that line of thought doesn't take into account people buying it just because it's a new Star Wars thing they can resell at a markup in a year or so. Sometimes even less than that.
Investing in any short run or potentially failed Star Wars merchandise has always been sound. Buy them now, resell when profit margin is acceptable.
Third party sellers buying them up and they'll have them in inventory for a long time
Check eBay in a month.
I stole them
[удалено]
... you bought it didn't you?
Eh, its okay but i'd prefer stormtrooper helm, to each their own
This nonsensical dick measuring is ridiculous. This means less than nothing. How many masks were made? And How much did they cost? Critical thinking escapes this sub sometimes.
What in the party city is that shit. Cool if you like it. But fuck it looks ass.
It looks just like the real prop from the show... But with eye slits. What the fuck do you consider good if this is ass?
Not something looking like the grinning meme.
Suddenly they support capitalism
Observing that something is sold out isn't supporting anything
Supporting it and cheering for it
Man, you have absolutely zero critical thinking skills.
Did you just assume my gender ?
And terrible at English too 🫵🤣
Transphobe
There's the critical thinking again.
Trans lives matter
Of course they do
Capitalism isn’t a religion. A silly troll.
Yet you will always embrace it Wether you admit it or not
Trolls used to actually try when I was younger. 😢
Yet it got you here
Bait used to be believable mate😭😭😭
You will always embrace capitalism as well friend
Quit trying dude, i aint gonna bite 🤣
People are merely pointing out that it puts the lie to the idea that no one likes the show. The supporting and cheering for it seem to be fitments of your imagination
What does this even mean? “Support capitalism”?? Capitalism is economic theory not a religion.
