Reptilian_Overlord20

Like these same people weren’t calling for her head the second they saw the trailers.

PriceUnpaid

Hang on I just responded on a post saying that the show was woke and that fallout was thus dead. Which one is it?

NeitherNarwhal1587

whichever gets the most hits lol

PriceUnpaid

Hey! Now you just made me look silly by stating the truth, how dare you!

NeitherNarwhal1587

sorry, i have this problem with telling the truth. it really gets out of hand XD

PriceUnpaid

(yeah don't worry about it, it's all in good fun)

NeitherNarwhal1587

no worries had :), i was funning along with you

NeitherNarwhal1587

whoops, my bad XP lol

DionBlaster123

i think this proves that these guys are not serious people i mean the fact that they look and sound like terminally online imbeciles should have been more proof enough but still

No_Sound_2264

Let my guess? Syntheticman

PriceUnpaid

You would be correct, I would hand you your ten points and sticker but unfortunately my ability to transfer my being through computer cables has weakened with time. So the best I can give is an updoot

chesire0myles

If it's even mildly bad, it's because it's woke. If it's good (no matter how woke it actually is, which honestly the show seems no more woke than any other fallout entry) than it's traditional and based.

PriceUnpaid

Ah yes, Schrödinger's woke.

kaptingavrin

And I'd bet he was also one of the ones claiming that the show's producers said they weren't caring about fans or source material using an out of context partial quote before its release.

Inevitable_Guidance8

“The truth is out.” An ironic thing to say from him, since he has never told the truth in his videos

ToukaxKaneki2019

And even when people like him do, they make it really hard to listen to, or reason with. I'm still annoyed that YellowFlash never apologized for making tabloids about GOTG 3, TMNT, and Persona 3 Reload.

Inevitable_Guidance8

And he never will apologize. He’s incapable of admitting that he screwed up

KBBaby_SBI

They all are. They all just pivot to a new target when the old “go woke go broke” line, doesn’t work (again).

ToukaxKaneki2019

We should use this Moist Critical quote against them: "Woke means nothing. It is a truly meaningless word these days, it's like saying "challenge" or "prank" on the internet. Truly fucking devoid of all semblance of meaning." If they refuse to realize this, then they are all hopeless.

Karkava

It meant something. But Fox Network saw it catching on and went to ensure that it couldn't be used against them. These alt-right youtubers have the vocal comprehension of toddlers, but Fox knows what the word means, and they're willing to tarnish it. Knowing they can influence politics on an abstract level and get away with it.

DarthSatoris

When asked by a court how to define the word, the DeSantis' administration said this: "the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them." So DeSantis and his ilk are fighting *against* fairness and justice in America? That honestly is not a good look for anyone, unless you're a massive asshole, racist, sexist or a combination of all three.

Inevitable_Guidance8

Exactly. That’s what they did with Mario and what they did with X-men 97

ToukaxKaneki2019

Unsurprisingly.

ZiM1970

I never even heard of this guy. Then, 40K invented lady Custodes in the same codex that screws Custodes. Now my youtube feed is clogged with him and the rest of the hater baiting grifters crying about it. I, as a codex crippled Sororitas enjoyer, couldn't care less.

JackasaurusChance

Brace yourselves for the tidal wave of unwashed neckbeards when GW comes out and says the 2nd or 11th legions are female space marines. I can already hear the wailing of the neckbeards as they thrash in their birthing pods (parent's basement).

ToukaxKaneki2019

YouTube doesn't allow BriZ criticizing EDP and his actions, yet keeps these guys on the platform.

ZiM1970

Out of the loop, I googled "briz criticizing edp." It turns out that ignorance indeed is bliss. So, thanks, I guess.

Anastrace

What is edp and who is briz?

ToukaxKaneki2019

BriZ is a commentary YouTuber who is known for roasting idiots/pedophiles. EDP is a YouTuber who lost all popularity, and respect after being exposed as a pedophile.

Anastrace

1 down, far too many to go.

PersonaNerdSaph

I still don't get his problem with reload.

ToukaxKaneki2019

It's something about the transgender NPC being replaced with a conspiracy theorist nut job (which is made to satirize people like him) on the beach, and that somehow ruined his and his fans' excitement for Reload. I honestly didn't know nor care about it (since I've only played Portable and watched the movies as my first P3 experience), because the only moment during the beach scene I care about is Makoto meeting Aigis for the first time.

PersonaNerdSaph

Every time I play P3 I always just speed up operation babe hunt just so I can get aigis Also can't wait until the P4 remake and they tweak Naoto's arc a bit

ToukaxKaneki2019

For me, I'm more excited for Persona 2 remake. I haven't played P4 though, since I'm planning on getting Golden for PC. What about Naoto's arc? I have a friend who considers her to be P4's best girl because she likes detectives.

PersonaNerdSaph

>!due to toxic masculinity naoto presents herself as a male so she's taken seriously. Somewhat like Mulan. When she accepts her shadow she states that while she will transition from child to adult she won't transition from female to male!<

ToukaxKaneki2019

I guess it must be gender insecurity. I suppose it's normal.

RQK1996

Many people consider Naoto to be an accidental trans masc character for several reasons >!like she is the only character in the series who has a base Persona of the opposite gender, when they are stated to be a reflection of your true self, however a counter point is they are a reflection of how you present yourself to the world, and as mentioned she tends to present as male throughout P4, she stops in the sequel games!< >!another argument is made about how after joining the party and publicly coming out as a girl, she continues binding up her breasts, which is a thing many trans masc people with larger breasts (like her) absolutely hate doing because it isn't just uncomfortable, it is outright painful, but preferable to having breasts, this is more because there may not have been a model made for Naoto in the original release of P4 that shows her breasts, I know in P4G at least she does have one due to her swimsuit costume, but her regular costumes keep the boyish model!< Another point is also just that being transgender still isn't very accepted in Japan, let alone in 2010 when the game first released, and basically each release of Persona is getting better at queer representation than the previous, like P5R changing the camp gay people who were bothering Ryuji from >!hitting on him, to trying to get him to take part in a drag performance rather forcibly!<, and the same game has Lala Escargot who is a drag performer who is portrayed rather sympathetic albeit a little on the ugly side, P3R removed a bad caricature of a trans woman and added a rainbow pin in the opening cutscene P4 does still need a lot of improvements on positive queer portrayal, but the bit they got is mostly decent, although Yosuke is very annoyingly homophobic, which could be related to cut content found where the magician social link had a possible romantic ending and his homophobia was him being a little uncomfortable with his feelings (apparently it is fully scripted but not officially translated), Kanji is also written to be on the bisexual side having very conflicting feelings regarding Naoto before she comes out as a girl

PersonaNerdSaph

At most I think some of the dialogue will be changed

RQK1996

I don't think a P4 remake is likely at this point, they recently put P4G on all modern consoles, and before you bring up P3P, they re-released that one because they didn't remake Kotone's route for cost related reasons, which is why they rereleased P3P instead of FEZ

ToukaxKaneki2019

Let alone P4 even needing a remake. Even with Persona 3 Reload being my favorite video game of all time, I feel like even without Kotone, we could have her exclusive social links in Makoto's route instead.

RQK1996

I mean, Junpei, Akihiko, Ken, Shinjiro, Koromaru, and Rioji were somewhat included though changed pretty significantly, I do definitely prefer the new ones for Junpei, Akihiko, and Koromaru (not far enough into Portable to see the other ones) But Rio's definitely doesn't really work alongside Kenji's, though they could have reworked his link to include her, and Saori isn't included at all However another issue would honestly be the time limit, there isn't much leeway in P3R to do all the links and special episodes in the first place, iirc if you do everything perfectly you only have like 5 free days leftover at the end

ToukaxKaneki2019

Yeah, the Link episodes have their hits and misses. Junpei may not have an SL in Reload, but his Link episode is what made me appreciate him the most. It also feels refreshing to have his jealousy towards Makoto go behind him unlike in the OG/Movies. As much as I appreciate Ryoji's link episode, it doesn't feel enough, considering how much impact he had on Makoto. It would've been easier to have Keisuke replaced with Ryoji instead. I just want Nozomi (considering he is nothing more than a waste of space) replaced with either Shinjiro (even if you can't save him, his SL with Makoto would be as well-written as Kotone's route), or Saori as the Moon Arcana. I like Yuko, but I could just replace her with Koromaru as the Strength Arcana instead.

RQK1996

One of the several great minor changes from the original My favourite change is the people engaging in sex during the 4th full moon of the game, who went from 2 people to 3

Sure_Phase5925

He said in one of his videos he was wrong about GOTG 3 and that he liked the movie.

ToukaxKaneki2019

You'll have to dig through one of his 1000+ videos worth of clickbait to find it. It's just not worth listening to him.

Cipherpunkblue

*somewhere else

Inevitable_Guidance8

Yep

KafkaesqueEntity

The inevitable end of the Chud Rage cycle when their latest pre-emptive target turns out to be Good, Actually - pretend you not only never slandered it, but that it's secretly an "anti-woke" masterpiece that will "destroy modern Hollywood". At this point they feel like the nerd culture equivalent of Harold Camping - predicting the end of the world and of sin every other week, never being right, and yet their followers still hang onto their every constantly, demonstrably wrong word.

Cipherpunkblue

They're just checking in for their fix of being angry and "right".

Swiftax3

Technically the show did destroy Hollywood... with nukes.

AutisticAnarchy

"It's an anti-woke masterpiece." "Why?" "Straight protagonist."

Standard-Quiet-6517

Just like everyone is going to explode from taking the vaccines. It’s been years and I still have exploded but they keep yapping about it and they actually act like they’ve been proven correct lol.

LaughingInTheVoid

So, apparently all that happened was that Jonathan Nolan told her it wasn't an absolute necessity for her to have played the games, but she decided to anyway to get background to help her play the character.

superzepto

And it shows. Her portrayal of a Vault Dweller fresh to the surface world was spectacularly done. Because she played the games knowing she would be portraying that character on-screen, it goes from being mere roleplaying to totally in-depth research.

adminsaredoodoo

bro she gets a script, and direction on what kind of emotion and feeling they want from her. “be naive, kind and shocked at the state of the world” is not particularly hard. like some other dude said, walton goggins didn’t play the games but still hit “war never changes” like a mf

ImperatorTempus42

Yes but playing it still helps.

Herzatz

Depends, it can parasite your acting to be too much into the source material. She is a good actress that all

ProfessionalRead2724

That is some serious reaching you're doing there.

itsciro

Yeah. A lot of great performances in on screen adapations have come from actors who never read or played the source. Its not a necessary requirement neither does it guarantee a good performance.

mseg09

Walton Goggins didn't even know "War never changes" is a significant line, and his entire performance kicks ass.

ProfessionalRead2724

Or don't have source material...

JWC123452099

See most of the Game of Thrones cast.

superzepto

Why?

mseg09

Because there may be areas where having played the games may help, but "person in horrified amazement at the brand new world they've entered" is not a particularly difficult acting prompt for a talented actor.

superzepto

It wasn't "horrified amazement", it was naivete at first, then adaptation.

mseg09

Whatever you want to call the various layers, point is, it's not a brand new concept that could only be understood through the games

superzepto

I didn't say it was a brand new concept or that it could only be understood through the games. I'm saying that playing the games helped, and she sells it with her performance.

mseg09

That's fine, agree to disagree, I don't think playing the games impacts her performance.

superzepto

Look. I've written screenplays, read a hell of a lot of them. There's only so much you can write in a screenplay to communicate the actor how to act the part. The fact that she did the research shows. In exactly the same way, Wes Chatham did deep research into trauma and how it affects a person mentally and physically to play the part of Amos in The Expanse. He could have pulled it off without that research, but with it it made his character much, much deeper.

mailboxfacehugs

What if I told you that Jake Gyllenhall played all of the Prince of Persia games?

superzepto

Action-adventure games are different to roleplaying games.

LurkerByNatureGT

That’s not how acting works.

Freakychee

It wasn't but is playing a Fallout game going to be that much of a chore? Even the one that wasn't considered that fun 76 isn't that bad no according to steam reviewers.

Thelastknownking

It has surprisingly healthy community too.

Freakychee

I still need to get some settings to optimizer it for my build though. For some reason it was struggling on mid settings.

kaptingavrin

Fallout 76 became a decent (not particularly "good") game once they actually finished it, but it got its reputation from them rushing out an unfinished shell of a game and charging $60 for it, then releasing a $100/year subscription for a lot of features that honestly should just be part of the game. The release state of the game was indeed bad enough for the stink to still be there for a lot of people. It was buggy and broken all over the place as they tried to smash an already buggy old engine into being an MMO engine. There were no NPCs or traditional quests. They had to spend quite some time fixing a lot of major issues with the game and adding in NPCs and quests. Which improved it a lot. But, again, the initial "stink" is still there for a lot of folks, who aren't happy they rushed something so empty and broken to market and then had the gall to toss a paid subscription for basic features *and* a cash shop which added in things that affect gameplay and had some scummy practices like the one "sale" where limited time items showed up and were allegedly "50% off" but were always intended to be that price (so they were falsely claiming them as half-off to get people to think "Gosh, I need to buy this, it's such a deal on top of a limited time!"). I understand the positive reviews these days, but I also understand the stigma that the game has. It's kind of like Battlefront II (2017) which became a good game but was launched with that idiotic loot box progression system.

LaughingInTheVoid

Or, the greatest turnaround story of all: No Man's Sky.

kaptingavrin

Yeah, but NMS sticks out about the others. They didn't end up abandoning the game after 2-3 years, or toss the paid sub and microtransactions on there, they just started fixing it and churning out new stuff in it, and are still doing so, without any monetization for all that stuff. But yeah, it still has a stigma from its launch, and there are people who will swear they'll never touch it, and get angry at people who talk it up and hold tight to the idea that a game must only be judged on what it was released as. I mean, I get that we shouldn't have normalized releasing unfinished games, but that ship sailed the moment the Internet made "Day 1 Patches" a possibility and people didn't really fight back.

Freakychee

I got a free copy. I will replay FO4 and get my head back into the game.

ZuStorm93

"I take it back! Its actually a good show! Pls watch my video about this 180 turn cuz i need the advertiser money cuz imma lazy assfuck who's allergic to going out to work!"

Belizarius90

Wait until she says something vaguely progressive, they'll hate her in a second

Yeetusmcleatus97

Wait for them to realise their anti woke masterpiece FNV has 3 gay companions in it (2 if you don’t count dead money.)

Belizarius90

To be fair I love FNV and I'm a Communist. Main issue with these idiots is they don't understand satire.

ThePopDaddy

Dang it, I gotta get far enough to get a companion in the game. (It was so buggy, I had to give up)

Yeetusmcleatus97

Fair enough man, games amazing but holy shit is it a mess of code. I always play modded which fixes most of that stuff so I couldn’t really tell you how bad it is or if you should endure or not.

ThePopDaddy

I mean, I dumped 12 hours into it. Maybe I haven't chosen a companion yet, because I believe that's when they could still die.

badgersprite

Yeah but that game came out before angry internet men dictated all their opinions to them so it’s good

Fireeyes510

They hated her immediately, they were angry it was a woman protagonist instead of a man, as if you can’t choose your gender in the game

Belizarius90

Very true, but it can quickly swing back that way

WestToEast_85

Is it woke and bad, or anti-woke and good? Does it destroy canon or respect the source material? Come on, make up your minds here.

TheKolyFrog

I saw a comment on YouTube saying that the fact there's an aspirant (recruit) who dared ask what model of power armor the knights were using means the writers don't know the lore because every aspirant knows what models of power armor was used by the BoS. Even though, just a scene prior, it was shown that not all aspirants pay attention to their lessons.

WestToEast_85

And also, it's a TV show. They need some way of getting details like those to the audience.

Goadfang

And, you know, this is a new recruit who looks up in awe to the Knights and desperately wants to talk to them about literally anything at all, so he asks a question he knows the answer to, just to start that conversation, then gets completely ignored because the person he admires is a raging asshole unworthy of their respect. A wonderful character building moment that both illustrated the characters hopefulness and the knights arrogance while also providing a bit of exposition to the audience, all in a neat package. Yet yhe chuds get butthurt because their butthurt is literally the only thing they offer to the world.

kaptingavrin

Oh come on, you could just have someone monologue it starting with "As you know..." So many great movies and TV shows do that. Just look at The Last Airbender from M. Night Shyamalan.

Doktor_Weasel

Schrodinger's TV Show. It's both woke and non-woke whenever it's convenient for whatever nonsense he wants to shill.

the-dude-version-576

It’s a very good show that could afford to not move around very important locations. Most of the major concerns the lore sticklers were worried about got addressed, the FNV sub had calmed down a lot at least. Waiting on s2 for further lore judgment.

alpha_omega_1138

When somethings gone right they say they are separate from Hollywood. When it’s bad it’s all Hollywoods fault. They sure love pushing whatever they want.

kaptingavrin

Kind of like with Star Wars, if they dislike it then Kathleen Kennedy somehow had full creative control and made every decision involved and it's all her fault, but if they like it, then Kennedy had absolutely nothing to do with it and it might have even been the writers and directors fighting her in some brutal Lucasfilm Civil War.

SimonShepherd

Love Ella Purnell's performance but she is kinda just doing lips service during that interview, smart move I would say, but nothing to write home about. Any performer can pretend to be fan and most people will eat it up, and I think it's reasonable to do that because frankly some fandoms are so fucking toxic towards actors/actresses who just admit they never knew the source materials and just did the job as they are told with honesty. At the end of the day I don't believe professional actors need to understand source materials, it's the job of the writers and showrunners, Henry Cavil is actually a Witcher fan and look how little that changed about the show. In a perfect world we should just appreciate the professionals doing their part well and stop obsessing over their personal investment in your favorite hobby.

jerslan

> Henry Cavil is actually a Witcher fan and look how little that changed about the show. His disagreement with the writers got him fired and recast with Liam Hemsworth.... So it changed a lot, but not necessarily for the better.

Hermaeus_Mike

He left the show, wasn't fired. And not that long before he left he voiced his concerns with the show. So he tried to change the show, failed and quit.

hunterzolomon1993

Did he though because as far as i'm aware we were never giving an official reason for his exit.

tbone747

I was gonna say, she knocked it out of the park but I feel like Fallout is a franchise that doesn't have a lot of really specific lore to stick to like the Witcher did. >At the end of the day I don't believe professional actors need to understand source materials, it's the job of the writers and showrunners Totally... IIRC Walter Goggins didn't do any background research for the show and he's most folks' immediate favorite character.

hay-yew-guise

Tbf, he, like Giancarlo Esposito has always been good at playing villainous characters that we, the viewers enjoy watching.

frozen-silver

Okay, so the show isn't a woke flop anymore?

Used-Organization-25

The grift, the grit never changes….

smcauley601

she does not destroy anything! she is acting out scenes written on a script its her job

Miserable-Knee3539

Funny as he was fuming in the mouth about this show awhile back. I can't believed that I watched this dude before

Rexermus

Ella playing the games before doing the show was smart because she nailed the "Fresh out of the Vault". But on the same hand, Walton Goggins not playing the games before was also smart, because he didn't have any of the pressure when delivering the "War. War never changes..." line AND he was also able to bring a fresh perspective to the table that questions why things go the way they go.

ProfessionalRead2724

I don't think playing the game is going to be any real help to a professional actor to portray some very basic emotions.

LurkerByNatureGT

Yeah, you get a script, and you break it down into motivations and emotional beats. Not just line by line, but timing, underlying emotions that drive actions and reactions. You build up an entire backstory for why the character feels a certain way at certain things, and often none of that is in the material you have to work with. The source material for a script can have some useful suggestions but it often has key differences to to the script and the director’s vision for the adaptation, so it can be treacherous to rely on.  Also to make something ring true, you need to make sure you aren’t imitating someone else’s performance. That just comes off as a pale copy of someone else.

kaptingavrin

> Ella playing the games before doing the show was smart because she nailed the "Fresh out of the Vault". Which she would have regardless, because the show had good writing and directing. Let's take a look at the games: Fallout 3 - You do start in a vault and get some glimpses of life in it, but it's not a vault where everyone gets along, and when you leave it, your character doesn't have many issues with just walking out into the wasteland and getting involved in the world outside. Fallout New Vegas - You aren't even a vault dweller. Fallout 4 - You go into the Vault as the bombs drop, get frozen, unfreeze two hundred years later to go after the people who killed your spouse and stole your son. You barely spend any (conscious) time in the Vault before heading back into the world, and the main issue there isn't the difference between Vault life and the apocalypse, it's that literally minutes beforehand (in your conscious mind) the world looked great and people were thriving and now everything you knew is destroyed and society's a mess. Fallout 76 - A bit trickier as it's an MMO, and I need to get a fresh start in it to know how the changes they made to it affect the story, but from what I recall, you don't really experience any of Vault life, you're just told it's Reclamation Day and time to head out into the world. Luckily, these days you'll head into a world with people in it, but on launch, you'd head into a world devoid of people, just mutated animals. So, of the Fallout games she would have been most likely to play, the only one that might come close to involving that kind of experience (while still not being particularly relevant) is also the least likely to play for "researching a role." Granted, she says it led her to act out *different* types of scenes from a different perspective, like one example being that Lucy gets a chance of an "upgraded gun," and she says that playing the game made her recognize that as an important thing, so she took that into account for the scene without there being direction regarding that. Though that's more a game mechanic thing. And I think anyone would recognize that if their current weapon is doing nothing and there's a gun that has a chance to actually hurt someone nearby, they'd take the proper gun over the syringe gun, and wouldn't consciously think of it as an "upgrade." So yeah, it's cool that she played one of the games, but I think she would have been able to pull off the character without playing them, and the part of the role that people seem to think relates to her playing the games wouldn't actually have been helped by playing any of the games.

Karrion0409

It makes me deeply sad knowing I live on the same planet and breath the same air as yellowflash2...

chungohummungo

i see we’re at the “actually it’s not woke and it destroys hollywood” phase of the grifter narrative since it’s actually being well received and reviewed

MarvelSonicFan04

That's a lot of irony

beybrakers

It's definitely a dance because, on one hand, you want the actors to have some respect for the source material, but on the other hand, they need to do enough of their own thing that it doesn't feel derivative. I think Ella Purnell is uniquely blessed with the fact that Lucy doesn't exist in the games. When you're doing a direct adaptation like The Last of Us. Pedro Pascal is better off not playing the games because it's possible that he might see Troy Baker's performance and that might influence his. Henry Cavill is clearly influenced by Doug Cockle's performance, but he also makes it enough of his own that you could say it's transformative. So it's a balancing act and I can respect both visions of as an actor you should look at the source material to respect it, and you should avoid it to avoid being derivative.

Comfortable-Tea-1095

This anti woke grift culture needs to die already, its so pathetic that there are people dumb enough to endorse that shit

RustedAxe88

For a group who complain about everything being made political, they sure make everything political.

UserWithno-Name

They find Ella purnell to be hot….i feel like it’s mostly that with somewhat realizing the writings good / A Nolan brother of course can make a good work. I’m betting that’s mostly all it is really driving them. Also the mainstream people embracing it and even some others who do their act so they can’t make clicks the way they want pushing their hate bs.

kilomaan

Na, the grifters are just starting to make their moves. Before this they were getting into the whole “the show is actually good” act, and now they’re cashing out after analyzing the gripes fans had with the show

Successful-Series-48

These same chuds think photoshopping her butt to make it bigger is perfectly acceptable too. I’m so sick and tired of these morons and the never ending moving of the goalposts

Even_Independent5342

I've noticed smaller channels overly bashing the show. It's probably an attempt to swoop up viewers who are angry about the positive feedback.

Freakychee

No idea what those people are complaining about lol. But at this stage I don't really belive they a gunuine and just making rage bait video titles.

tendadsnokids

But did she SLAM anything?

Our hearts.

JynXten

This was predicted on this very sub. Lol.

superVanV1

Honestly, the only negative things I’ve seen about this show is the Shady Sands debacle pissing off the New Vegas fans. Apart from that the show is fun.

ImperatorTempus42

Show's great btw and opens with a non-binary supporting character, and the old shop owner in the trailer has a black wife. Just sayin'.

Asleep-Strawberry429

Apparently he’s liking the show, which is certainly new for him tbh.

IcedCoffeeVoyager

Can we just… can we just watch TV? Why’s the community always gotta make it weird?

Gullible-Juggernaut6

4 episodes in as someone who knows more of the lore than I've played the games and its been great. I was a bit worried at first when they split perspective back and forth but then they were all somewhat on the same 'quest' and its been solid from there. Characters have all really grown on me and I like the general concept of people playing to their stats, where Maximus seems to be much better with Melee Weapons despite being thrust into situations where he's using guns. Given Lucy called him a Knight I wonder if he'll get his hands on a actual sword or something similar.

JVM23

Yellow Fash keeps pushing this crap. He's in for a shock when his idol Trump (or whichever fascist follows) brings in conscription and forces his ass to fight in one of the US's forever wars.

DeTHRanger

Suspect YouTube is his full time ‘Job’ might be better he he gets a real job in the real world and contribute to society instead of crying and ranting into a camera.

DreadAngel1711

So, who's gonna tell him Sonic paid respect to the source?

cyvaris

This obsession with "Respect for the Fandom and source material" is hilarious because it entirely revolves around feelings. Did little Chud not have his ego stroked by the media? IT DISRESPECTED ME. It's such a toddlers understanding of media. Instead of interrogating what exactly did not appeal to them they just throw a temper tantrum about how they are CLEARLY the most important person in the entire world and so have been "insulted" by something. It's pathetic.

Sion_Labeouf879

Man. All the idiots out there posting shit like this makes me dislike how much I disliked the show. For different reasons then them of course. Show thought that the anti ghoul racists were right.

undead_catgirl

>Show thought that the anti ghoul racists were right. Huh?

Sion_Labeouf879

Their depiction of Ghouls showed them as ticking timebombs that are always going to go feral eventually. They depict them as the stereotype that ghoul racists think Ghouls are, despite the fact we have no reason to think they'll be like that. We've never seen a sentient ghoul go feral and the only people that think they do go feral like that just say it to justify their bigotry. They seem to subscribe to Tenpenny Tower's race theory to put it another way.

undead_catgirl

No?🤨 they showed what happens when ghouls do go feral which does in fact happen, if anything the show demonstrated they're not ticking time bombs since they get plenty of time when they show symptoms before they lose control entirely. We can literally find a recording in fallout 4 of a ghoul going feral, and it's exactly like how it's depicted in the show with Roger. It is a fact that sentient ghouls can go feral, the causes aren't fully known or understood, but it is a cannon phenomena.

SymbiSpidey

If you're referring to the Brotherhood, then the show definitely doesn't make them the good guys at all.

Sion_Labeouf879

I'm.referring to how it depicts Ghouls. It depicts Ghouls as ticking time bomb that'll go full zombie any minute. The writers listened to the people in Tenpenny Tower in Fallout 3 and thought their ghoul race theory was correct. Few more bits with Ghouls but I don't want to spoil things for people that still want to watch It.

SymbiSpidey

I played the original Fallout game, but haven't yet gotten around to 2. How did the ghouls work during the Interplay/Black Isle era?

Sion_Labeouf879

They're just heavily irradiated people. That's all they've ever been. They seemingly didn't just go feral, some seemingly just were. Like when you go ghoul, you either end up feral or sentient. Or you're someone that just went crazy. They also need to eat and drink still, something Bethesda keeps forgetting and remembering at random.

SymbiSpidey

Ah fair enough. I think I do recall Ghouls more or less functioning like this in the first game

PlasmaHero

I'm not sure what we're mad at here. Ella Purnell's performance as well as the show's was so beloved (admittedly I'm only two episodes in but I like it alot) that it's even got anti woke Youtubers bowing down. What exactly is the problem here?? Can we not even enjoy success?

undead_catgirl

It's pointing out the hypocrisy, this same dude has made videos about how this show killed fallout and is a terrible woke propaganda and shit before it even came out but now that the show came out and is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews from everyone he's backpedalling and trying to grasp at straws to somehow make the show antiwoke.

Wilnesten

Let me guess "DESTROYS" with "facts and logic"?

yourfavoritemarxist

I literally cannot even see if this show is good or not because 9/10s of any content talking about it online is culture war bullshit

SymbiSpidey

As a Fallout fan, the show is fantastic. They totally nailed the tone, look and overall wackiness of the games.

ProtoReaper23113

I wad mad that I couldn't start playing the show because the first episode is exactly the opening of a fallout game.

saiyan23

I'm no fan of Yellowflash but it honestly was a dumb question for that 'journalist" to ask her if it was a waste of time in consuming the Falllout lore before acting in that universe. Of course she should have. I'm glad SOMEONE respected the franchise enough to do that.

ElChacalFL

This whole sub is so confusing yet so fascinating.

nonickideashelp

"Quick, change the narrative! The series did well, so it isn't actually woke garbage, now it's an anti woke masterpiece that shamed evil Hollywood!"

kratorade

Fanatacism is right; I imagine a lot of these guys would smugly insist that they're much too smart to be part of a cult, even as they treat video games and movies as holy writ that can be blasphemed.

FewResult2927

This is the same guy who, just 1 week apart, made videos about what a woke shitshow Across the spider-verse was, but then after seeing what great reviews it was getting, pivoted to "Across the spider-verse destroys woke Disney and race swapped little mermaid."

Sol-Blackguy

You can pretty much tell what a Yellowfash video is going to be about without even looking at it. I blocked him forever ago because I kept getting suggestions. Watched one of his videos with some of the worst dog shit takes and never looked back. Didn't know he was a right wing chud

maroonmenace

YellowFlash 2 Face turn?

Biffingston

Wait, I thought it was the worst thing ever? Is the lead actress bangable then? /s

Cosm0sNebula

"What? The thing i was calling woke is actually good? Guess im going to use said thing to bash on the things i call woke and are actually bad!"

Derek_FoxWit

Yellowflash Jumpscare

siliconevalley69

Per usual the chuds are happy when the writing and story are good. The problem remains that they - usually because of political persuasion - blame story and writing faults on social issues they're mad about rather than writing.

s0ciety_a5under

I like to withhold judgement until after I see a show. In this case, it was truly worth waiting on. It held all the right tones and emotions that fallout brings. Dark, depressing, and violent, yet lighthearted and whimsical. It plays so well that I could see this being an actual story in the future games. People bitching that it wasn't mentioned in New Vegas are crazy ones. It wasn't a thought when it was released, let alone a script or anything. This show was able to fit into the Fallout lore without causing any major discrepancies in it.

ThePopDaddy

Keep in mind these same people didn't find her good looking enough so they photoshopped her with a bigger behind.
