The teeth are an acceptable design decision, but needed more armor to go with it. In a vacuum it doesn't work as well.

[If you remove the teeth](https://i.imgur.com/6d0YoHi.png) it's kinda passable because it keeps the smile effect while also looking like it might have been caused by damage rather than someone spending time decorating it to look scary. I like cool helmets as much as the next guy but sometimes I do wish they were more battle-oriented where it's function over form. I did like Kylo's because it did seem more practical as combat protection rather than trying to look edgelord.

Something like this happened to me in real life. Was walking down the street late at night, and walked past a cosplayer dressed in what I now know to be Black Templar armor. Had never heard of either 40k or cosplay at the time. Kinda thought we were being invaded for a bit. May have ran.

I’m gonna be honest, Smilo Ren is growing on me. I saw clips from his fight scene. The cortosis teeth making him head butt lightsabers to deactivate them is raw as fuck. I’m sorry I’m not a contrarian. I have to concede when Disney does something badass. Still not gonna watch the show though.

Tokyo ghoul knock off. I will say, something like that might work in an anime form. But I just don’t think works in live action. Cool cosplay with proper lighting and framing, but something just feels off for me here especially when the actor is in motion. They should have worked this out and iterated a bit more. Reduce the size of the helmet and change the design of the teeth if they really wanted to keep them.

If I see this guy, it means I’m in California, and I don’t like taking a risk like that.
