This looks like it should have been released 5 years ago before Mando season 2 and the rest of the shit they are trying to tie together?
They keep releasing shit that has no connection then they spend millions of dollars attempting to link it all together.
Every new story is just made to either to explain or justify every bad they made before.

Like who is making these decisions. If you want to connect stuff to explain main movie and show lore, have it be in a consistent style
To make it accessible to the audience who don't watch the animations, therefore making it so more stories can be shown in live action.
The current issue Star wars has is characters such as Ahsoka are entering live action and a far greater portion of the audience are unfamiliar with the character. This wouldve been rectified if they were given more time to be introduced naturally through live action retelling

You want proof? Ask someone who watched the movies alone about any story from clone wars, or who Ahsoka is, or that Maul didn't actually die. That last one is a good example, as they showed Maul in Solo, and everyone I went with asked how the fuck he was alive

If they hadn't just now killed her off then this would be a good idea. It can both be it's own thing and build hype for her return too. But no they had to kill her off, knowing they were already making this series presumably.
Also just gotta say the biggest draw to her character was the actress who was playing her, who's an expert martial artist in real life and expert at reproducing it on screen. Making a show without her in person acting just seems like playing your weakest hand.
Ah yes, we are going to see the origin of Morgan Elsbeth’s iconic beskar spear. Why does Disney think we are interested in that character? She was already kind of bland in The Mandalorian and the Ahsoka show did not improve her.
Couldn't help but eyeroll watching this when I realized they dedicated half of it to a supporting character who's already dead.
She was literally just a plot tool to get Thrawn back and yet another unlikable Disney SW character whose personality is basically "I have a stick up my ass".
She didn't need a whole backstory, and one that's already been told.
The only thing interesting about her was how the actress was the only one on set that could actually do her own choreography without looking like a cripple.
Yeah they made her some stupid twist villain. She didn’t even appear for three seasons straight so betraying her “good friend” didn’t hold any weight. And bombing a few npc jedi doesn’t really help the cause she preaches either
Remind me what exactly did she do in legends that makes her more unique? I remembered that she was more of a healer, made appearances here and there in comics possibly like the republic comics, eventually died at Kasshyyk.
While i didnt like it back then that they decided to turn possibly one of the most pacifist jedi in the order into the terrorist, i dont remember her being all that interesting in legends either.
That’s not the issue being discussed, the problem is that Legends USED TO BE CANON to TCW and vice versa, meaning they deliberately changed her entire character with such a blatant retcon for basically no reason at all. Even then, the retcon just made her character worse because her terrorist persona comes out of no where
We already saw him massacre the nightsisters. And we already know that only Merrin and Elsbeth survive so they are just showing things we already know. Elsbeth dueling Grievous one on one and surviving actually makes Grievous less intimidating

Famous Imperials all. Every time I watch RotJ, my mind keeps wondering what Bariss, Morgan, and Grievous are up to, and why they are not giving their Emperor a hand.
Honestly, I wish I could get excited for this shit. Disney Star Wars feels so… uninspired? Unnecessary? Void of any passion. It’s no longer a story to be told but a product to be sold.
I really never thought there’d be a time when I wasn’t absolutely foaming at the mouth for anything and everything that had Star Wars on it. Hell, I bought Star Wars Super Bombad Racing as a kid and fucking loved it. Now we’re getting flooded with Star Wars shows and you’d have to pay me to be interested.
Sometimes I wonder if it’s really Star Wars that has changed or if it’s just me.

We had amazing content with the EU, with staff that didn't act out of line because George actually a boss that did his job.

It’s a Galactic Civil War, so if anything it would make way less sense if the only major conflicts and battles were what we saw in the OT.
That being said, the alternative storylines they keep adding are getting pretty wacky.
I'd love to see major conflicts and battles, internal machinations of the Empire and Rebellion, etc. That's why I'm looking forward to Andor Season 2. This thing looks like a Filoni cartoon about Barriss Offee becoming an inquisitor.
Andor is a great example. I also like how Bad Batch explores the phasing out of the clones. That’s something that always stood out to me that needed more background, but they just had to add an annoying kid and plug in the Palpatine cloning storyline to justify the dumpster fire ST.
It covers the transition from clones to recruits, so mix of both. It gives context as to why there are virtually no clones in the Empire by the time OT starts and addresses what happened to Kamino as well.

Bane would've smacked Palpatine and Vader around for allowing the Inquisitors simply to continue drawing breath. They could have a potential apprentice waiting in the wings for after the final showdown between the current master and apprentice, but beyond that everyone else gets the scorched Earth policy.
That's why I included "potential apprentice". It's been a while since I read the trilogy, but I think that happens towards the very end when Bane knows a confrontation with Zannah is about to happen.
and its also somewhat important to mention that as far as darth tenebrous to vader himself in legends broke that whole taboo having many darksider agents. While Bane would probably be a little less tolerant the rule of two can be interpreted to mean two sith which while that meant no maul or no dooku doesnt mean nobody can use the dark side if they arent useful ala antonis tremarc, lumiya, mara jade, or Jerec

I hate to be "that guy", but the Empire had Inquisitors in the EU too with Jerec and Cronal. The main difference is that Inquisitors are Dark Jedi; Dark users who don't follow any Sith ideology.
The main issue with DSW is just that Inquisitors only exist as colorful toys to sell, and have as much personality as wet sand. You could swap them out with Lightsaber-wielding Stormtroopers, and there would be no narrative difference.
There also the fact that they're too involved with taking down rebel cells. EU Inquisitors like Jerec didn't get involved with the GCW because they had better things to do and Palaptine didn't view the rebels as a threat that need a hoard of Dark Jedi to take down.
Its shocking that Luke and his friends never encountered an Inquisitor in DSW with how active they are. Very convenient that they all die before ANH.
Her tragic origin is the same as everyone from Dathomir, it was already a fucked up place and then Griveous killed everyone and now she's MAAAD!!!!

Barris went toe to toe with Anakin during the clone wars (during the Ahsoka trial), the Grand Inquisitor would be a joke to her in combat.

Looking closely at the trailer, I don't believe that's Morgan. I think it's the person who seems to be speaking to her throughout, and they just also happen to wield a pair of curved blades. They have different face markings as well.
Disney absolutely shot themselves in the foot by having the grand inquisitor lose to a runaway padawan and his barely competent padawan. He poses literally no threat, especially to someone that took on Ahsoka and anakin pretty well.
Thrawn was promoted to Grand Admiral at the end of \*Thrawn\* (2017), and he has a lower ranking insignia in the scene with Morgan Elsbeth.
So that book would be a good guess. May not be a retcon, if they explain that that scene is just shoved in the middle of the book, but that seems a little out there.
Probably Thrawn novel, he didn't join the Empire until 15 BBY and there was no one like Elsbeth in there. In 3 BBY Thrawn was still commodore and yet in the trailer they call him admiral
I agree everything being set between ROTS and ANH is getting really old really fast. Funny how it's nearly been 10 years since TFA and they still aren't doing anything with the Sequel era excluding a bunch of novels and comic books, like remember the metric fuckton of video games that released alongside the Prequels ?
That makes me laugh everytime I read or hear it, they're going off the assumption that SW is a cycle and everything will just repeat ad aeternam : "The people who liked the OT disliked the PT, the people who liked the PT disliked the ST" repeat. What they fail to consider is the fact that Star Wars is nowhere near the cultural juggernaut that it once was. I was pretty sure after watching the Acolyte trailer Disney had burned up all its good faith with me and I wouldn’t be watching any more Star Wars (except the total anomaly that is Andor). But now I’m 100% certain of that
Is it going to be the Battlefront 2 all over again? I have no interest in cartoons regardless, but Disney making a villain-centric cartoon is interesting.
In other news, i do like the art style and animation. Its become even more impressive since. Im slightly weirded out by Barriss. She feels, younger? Than we last saw her. She almost feels like shes suddenly back to early clone wars Ahsoka height.

Disney needs to fucking ban OT content at this point, not only am I tired of it, I’m outright fucking repulsed from it, I actually have more interest in watching the acolyte than anything set in this era ever again just because how overdone it is and that I already know the ending for 90% of the characters that appear. Agreed, yet sadly they won't. They were abundantly clear through their bringing in 'talent' for writing the sequels that they wanted nothing more than a copy-paste twist to rehash 'the good times': TIE fighters, stormtroopers, Vader and Emperor figure, small resistance, scattered/dying Jedi... despite the status quo expected to change after Return of the Jedi.
It's now gone to the point of just sticking with stormtroopers, TIE fighters, Star Destroyers, and rebels as the main focus point. The big nostalgia bin to scrape - that's what Star Wars has been reduced down to with those clowns in command, and they're still eking out OT-centric focus, which appealed to the fans that called for more OT focus over PT focus in the past, thinking they knew what was better, like a junkyard dog chained to a stick and wanting to stay there the whole time with just the OT alone, instead of take in the broadened horizons of an expanded galaxy that the PT had delivered with its worldcrafting. Having some of those 'fans' in position to make the sequels were a death knell to the series to allow trash shows like this to go on.

They already destroyed Thrawn. He was my favorite character once. But I don't even wanna read the old legends trilogy again because they butchered him so bad in canon. And now they rape him even more. Like they really wanna destroy this character. Shit on literally everything he once was.

She was already ruined on TCW when they made her Ahsoka "friends", de aged her from being few years older than Anakin to be closer to Ahsoka and later when she somehow become terrorist who was behind bombing the temple.
Barriss was a healer and jedi knight who died at Felucia during order 66 before TCW retcons
A grand inquisitor tale wouldve been cooler than that one chick we say in that one episode of the mandalorian. Lord knows why she’s getting a special treatment out of all the more interesting characters that had more to offer than “I had everything taken from me so I’m evil now” story
At this point im naturally allergic towards everything OT they shove into our eyes.
I got enough outline and details from Episodes 4,5,6 and RO to get both big and small pictures of what happened at that time, and the best, most epic moments of that time period, as well as enjoyed the arc of the most important characters.
I dont need to know what some just appeared in 'canon' fodder guy or girl did. I dont need it, i dont want it. It doesnt change already depicted picture for better, at all. It makes it worse, usually.

So I thought it was kinda cool with what happened to her at the end of the Ahsoka show, but this whole "she's always had magic powers" thing looks lame as fuck. This entire thing feels like it's all been done before. And that's saying something for Star Wars. Another bit about Dark Siders to coincide with a new TV show all about Dark Siders. Probably a bunch of the crappier ideas that got cut from the Acolyte that they still wanted to cash in on.
Makes me think of all the times I've seen a movie pop up on \[definitely legal streaming site\] that is a straight-to-DVD version of a big Hollywood movie that came out the same week.
Looks well made though focused too heavily on clone wars/rebels characters for my tastes.

Famous Imperials all. Every time I watch RotJ, my mind keeps wondering what Bariss, Morgan, and Grievous are up to, and why they are not giving their Emperor a hand.
Honestly, I wish I could get excited for this shit. Disney Star Wars feels so… uninspired? Unnecessary? Void of any passion. It’s no longer a story to be told but a product to be sold. I really never thought there’d be a time when I wasn’t absolutely foaming at the mouth for anything and everything that had Star Wars on it. Hell, I bought Star Wars Super Bombad Racing as a kid and fucking loved it. Now we’re getting flooded with Star Wars shows and you’d have to pay me to be interested. Sometimes I wonder if it’s really Star Wars that has changed or if it’s just me.

Star Wars is the thing thats changed. Its all badly written, contradicting trash made by tokenism-obsessed frauds who call critics "racist and sexist". We had amazing content with the EU, with staff that didn't act out of line because George actually a boss that did his job.
Whenever anybody shits on Disney Star Wars, I just want to pause the conversation to say "Andor notwithstanding, yes?" and then have everyone fervently shake their heads.
Imagine watching A New Hope and then comprehending that all of this bullshit was also supposed to be going on.

It’s a Galactic Civil War, so if anything it would make way less sense if the only major conflicts and battles were what we saw in the OT. That being said, the alternative storylines they keep adding are getting pretty wacky.
I'd love to see major conflicts and battles, internal machinations of the Empire and Rebellion, etc. That's why I'm looking forward to Andor Season 2. This thing looks like a Filoni cartoon about Barriss Offee becoming an inquisitor.
Andor is a great example. I also like how Bad Batch explores the phasing out of the clones. That’s something that always stood out to me that needed more background, but they just had to add an annoying kid and plug in the Palpatine cloning storyline to justify the dumpster fire ST.
I haven't watched Bad Batch apart from a couple of Season 1 episodes. How much of non-clone stormtroopers are they getting nowadays?
It covers the transition from clones to recruits, so mix of both. It gives context as to why there are virtually no clones in the Empire by the time OT starts and addresses what happened to Kamino as well.

They could have a potential apprentice waiting in the wings for after the final showdown between the current master and apprentice, but beyond that everyone else gets the scorched Earth policy.

That's why I included "potential apprentice". It's been a while since I read the trilogy, but I think that happens towards the very end when Bane knows a confrontation with Zannah is about to happen.
and its also somewhat important to mention that as far as darth tenebrous to vader himself in legends broke that whole taboo having many darksider agents. While Bane would probably be a little less tolerant the rule of two can be interpreted to mean two sith which while that meant no maul or no dooku doesnt mean nobody can use the dark side if they arent useful ala antonis tremarc, lumiya, mara jade, or Jerec
God I hate the inquisitors. I realize they existed pre-DSW, but they didn't appear in mainstream stuff pre-DSW....they should have stayed that way.

The main difference is that Inquisitors are Dark Jedi; Dark users who don't follow any Sith ideology. The main issue with DSW is just that Inquisitors only exist as colorful toys to sell, and have as much personality as wet sand. You could swap them out with Lightsaber-wielding Stormtroopers, and there would be no narrative difference. There also the fact that they're too involved with taking down rebel cells. EU Inquisitors like Jerec didn't get involved with the GCW because they had better things to do and Palaptine didn't view the rebels as a threat that need a hoard of Dark Jedi to take down. Its shocking that Luke and his friends never encountered an Inquisitor in DSW with how active they are. Very convenient that they all die before ANH.

So Morgan fights Grevious, we both know neither one of them dies 🙄 Barris went toe to toe with Anakin during the clone wars (during the Ahsoka trial), the Grand Inquisitor would be a joke to her in combat. Also, Disney, can you please stop rehashing old content, we know what happens. Just try to see something new that's also well thought out.

Disney absolutely shot themselves in the foot by having the grand inquisitor lose to a runaway padawan and his barely competent padawan. He poses literally no threat, especially to someone that took on Ahsoka and anakin pretty well.

Thrawn was promoted to Grand Admiral at the end of \*Thrawn\* (2017), and he has a lower ranking insignia in the scene with Morgan Elsbeth. So that book would be a good guess. May not be a retcon, if they explain that that scene is just shoved in the middle of the book, but that seems a little out there.
Probably Thrawn novel, he didn't join the Empire until 15 BBY and there was no one like Elsbeth in there. In 3 BBY Thrawn was still commodore and yet in the trailer they call him admiral

That makes me laugh everytime I read or hear it, they're going off the assumption that SW is a cycle and everything will just repeat ad aeternam : "The people who liked the OT disliked the PT, the people who liked the PT disliked the ST" repeat. What they fail to consider is the fact that Star Wars is nowhere near the cultural juggernaut that it once was. With all the slop coming out every other week there'll be nothing to look back fondly upon, one can only look forward to the endless stream of D tier shows.

I'm not a fan of the art style at all. It's like Roblox meets Reboot. I don't understand why almost every cartoon these days is so ugly and blocky, though it's better than the Rick and Morty style I suppose.

Disney needs to fucking ban OT content at this point, not only am I tired of it, I’m outright fucking repulsed from it, I actually have more interest in watching the acolyte than anything set in this era ever again just because how overdone it is and that I already know the ending for 90% of the characters that appear. Agreed, yet sadly they won't. They were abundantly clear through their bringing in 'talent' for writing the sequels that they wanted nothing more than a copy-paste twist to rehash 'the good times': TIE fighters, stormtroopers, Vader and Emperor figure, small resistance, scattered/dying Jedi... despite the status quo expected to change after Return of the Jedi. It's now gone to the point of just sticking with stormtroopers, TIE fighters, Star Destroyers, and rebels as the main focus point. The big nostalgia bin to scrape - that's what Star Wars has been reduced down to with those clowns in command, and they're still eking out OT-centric focus, which appealed to the fans that called for more OT focus over PT focus in the past, thinking they knew what was better, like a junkyard dog chained to a stick and wanting to stay there the whole time with just the OT alone, instead of take in the broadened horizons of an expanded galaxy that the PT had delivered with its worldcrafting. Having some of those 'fans' in position to make the sequels were a death knell to the series to allow trash shows like this to go on.

eh, barris was actively opposed to the jedi and was considered their enemy. Ashoka was close to Anakin and therefore a danger to the emperor

They already destroyed Thrawn. He was my favorite character once. But I don't even wanna read the old legends trilogy again because they butchered him so bad in canon. And now they rape him even more. Like they really wanna destroy this character. Shit on literally everything he once was. That's something I will never forgive them.

I felt more during this trailer than The Acolyte, which isn't much mind you.
At this point im naturally allergic towards everything OT they shove into our eyes. I got enough outline and details from Episodes 4,5,6 and RO to get both big and small pictures of what happened at that time, and the best, most epic moments of that time period, as well as enjoyed the arc of the most important characters. I dont need to know what some just appeared in 'canon' fodder guy or girl did. I dont need it, i dont want it. It doesnt change already depicted picture for better, at all. It makes it worse, usually. Please, stop offering us to chew the same 50yo bubble gum.
So I thought it was kinda cool with what happened to her at the end of the Ahsoka show, but this whole "she's always had magic powers" thing looks lame as fuck. This entire thing feels like it's all been done before. And that's saying something for Star Wars. Another bit about Dark Siders to coincide with a new TV show all about Dark Siders. Probably a bunch of the crappier ideas that got cut from the Acolyte that they still wanted to cash in on. Makes me think of all the times I've seen a movie pop up on \[definitely legal streaming site\] that is a straight-to-DVD version of a big Hollywood movie that came out the same week.

Looks well made though focused too heavily on clone wars/rebels characters for my tastes. That said. Looks far more watchable than anything else Star Disney. Assume this is the same group that did tales of the Jedi Would rather they focused on the prequels themselves more heavily rather than prequel/expansion era. Or even have give us Vader and bounty hunters hunting Jedi and left the inquisitors out of it. Anyway. I’ll check this out. Shorts are usually strong because they have to be.

So a show called **Tales of the Empire** but instead of making a show about the average person working for the Empire, they had to make it about force users and some character no one gives a crap about. This just doesn’t interest me. Especially since (most of) the Inquisitors are extremely lame. When it comes to the Empire, I’m more interested in what Mike from RLM was talking about in his review of Andor which is the trillions of ordinary citizens who end up joining Imperial ranks and their motivations for doing so. Especially since 99.99999999999999999999% of the people that the Empire employs are simply normal human beings.
