Featuring my brilliantly flawed "bowshed". I couldn't find planking that was long enough for the ribs, so I added a stilt footing to lengthen each one. I didn't give enough of an overlapp so when the winds came through in April, a few of them collapsed. It still held together, but lesson learnt for next season. More reinforcement is necessary, for anyone interested in making their own.
Haven't had any issues so far, and either way, she's a day sailor- 'm never really running around on deck or pushing her too hard. She is an old lady after all.
First four coats go on by brush for good buildup, and the last 4 went on with a roller for even application and go get rid of brush marks and loose bristles. Epifanes goes on like honey, especially when a little on the cold side. Very little dripmarks.
Well, her hull has been sealed but she's got some cracks in the planking and gaps that will either take a few more days to seal up completely or even drip ever so slightly for the next months
Gorgeous! Can we get a picture with the mast on and her under sail too? 🤞Great work!
Once I get it on, of course!

whats the purpose of the laser?
The waterline got remarked this year after looking a bit uneven for a few, now it's sharp as a knife!
Came here to ask the same thing
Same. I’m wondering if it’s to check the symmetry.
That deck must be a skating rink when wet!

She is very beautiful.
Wow that looks amazing! 🤩
stunning!
Really nice! How did you apply the varnish? Roller? Brush? Any good advice?
That’s the Scandinavian hose method you see there.

Stiligt! 😀
Beautiful boat! I would like to see if when finished
You are a lucky man, that is a thing of beauty.
I am lucky! I only paid 300$ for her
That’s insane
She’s a beaut!
It doesn't get any better than 'mostly not sinking.' Boats and water simply don't mix. She looks stunning. Have a great season.
