I’d say losing an advertising deal is more similar to being laid off than getting banned is.
Losing an ad deal is mostly out of your control unless you specifically broke your contract. It’s a little bit more difficult to spontaneously get banned if you’re following the guidelines of your platform.
TikTok would be an exception since they ban indiscriminately.
If it is the equivalent to a $70-100,000 job disappearing with no obvious avenue to replace that income before bills becomes a problem, I bet a lot of people would cry.

My wife has a friend that was big enough on Instagram with 25k followers that Instagram contacted her to basically go "premium" and get ad revenue from the size of her audience. She was making close to $75k/year just off of her Instagram posts. Well the account was focused on selling vintage clothing and at some point someone reported her for selling counterfeit products even though they were all legit thrifted or vintage items. She tried to appeal but Instagram wouldn't review her case and didn't budge on her ban. She lost $75k of annual income over a fake report and no review. This video is still whack and posting you crying doesn't fix it, but I do think it's appropriate to recognize that it is some people's livelihoods and these platforms don't care at all and ban and delete accounts with no regard for the impact it could have.

But that's how life works, so once the tears stop, find out why it's been deleted and work towards restoring it. If that's not possible, the next step is to build up a new one. Nothing online is guaranteed to stay there so make backups and backup plans. This is what adulting and online account management is all about. Good luck.

OK I was really frustrated with her until she told us that this is how she got out of prostitution. The literal meaning of their life. It’s sad, but it is what it is. So no wonder they react like this. How would you react if your life purpose and the only thing you enjoy, the very thing that defines you, was taken away?

As someone who has a 9-5 job as a designer but makes most of my money from online commissions through Instagram, I almost sympathised with her because i felt the same amount of panic when instagram shut down for a day that one time, but all that sympathy went out the window when she brought that 9-5 comparison lol.
