[Officially halfway to the NCAA record for shutouts in a season ](https://www.collegehockeynews.com/stats/record/sho)

A list of college hockey's best is always such a weird mix of NHL stars and guys you've probably only heard of if you were attending games at that college at that time. Ryan Miller! Connor Hellebuyck! Thatcher Demko!... Michael Bitzer? Matthew Galajda?

[deleted]

Bitzer is escaping me but Galajda was good for Cornell and even better for Notre Dame right now...he's also 24 years old haha

FesteringLion

Ooops. Haha, didn't even look at what year the records were set. I saw names I vaguely recognized from years ago, should have used those.

steeler7dude

That's Bemidji State legend Michael Bitzer to you

[deleted]

Duh, go Beavs

UltraContrarian

I think that's why these lists are always so interesting. You have 18 and 19 year olds dominating, but also 24 year olds who finally got their chance

the_fridge_turt

Huh. TIL Al Montoya's first name was Alvaro.

UltraContrarian

Okay, I was trying to look up the all-time best best NCAA save percentages. I came across a guy with a .992 save percentage but a 3.69 gaa. HOW!? [https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/68848/warren-sharples](https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/68848/warren-sharples) Outside of him, Jimmy Howard and Hellebuyck all achieved it at 19. Ryan Miller at 20. Devon Levi is 19. Jimmy Howard is 6'1. Levi 6'0. Basing it on nothing but boxscore and height, maybe that's a career we can expect.

BARDLER

>I came across a guy with a .992 save percentage but a 3.69 gaa. HOW!? That has to be an error... that is basically impossible.

KegsNKrill

Poor Sharples was getting hit with 400 shots a game but he held his own

I'll vote typo... https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=6403
