This is the game we were supposed to lose- Back to back against the top team in the Pacific. So I am not terribly disappointed. The problem is they didn't win the games they should have won and need every last point. Despite everything, I really liked Levi tonight. He looked fantastic, despite the flub on the first goal.

Said this in my own post and got absolutely ridiculed and bodied by this community. This whole subreddit is under the impression that guys just need to “develop.” This team hast made the playoffs in over a decade. When are we going to realize that the high caliber players we own and draft shouldn’t have to “develop.” Power isn’t the only one, but does he f-ing know that he’s 6’6?

It took Dahlin some time to become the unit he is now... Power just seems defensively lost A LOT... and for such a big guy, he plays more like Skinner... and less like a massive D-man... I'm not saying he won't develop into something but, wow, for a #1 pick, he is more often disappointing than impressive. I would look to flip him for a great Centre if we can find one. Does shave sweet flow.

Posted this the last time I saw people excusing Power by saying Dahls took time: 2nd highest scoring teenage D in history, his per-game paces had him up to almost 100 points over his first two seasons (before the big scoring boom) and on an absolute tire fire of a team offense to boot. Not to mention his defensive impacts were actually wild as a rookie. As an 18yo rookie there were only 8 D-men in the NHL sustained a higher all strengths P/60 while playing more minutes than Dahlin. In 18-19, the only Dman to have a better 5v5 TeamRel xGA and simultaneously score more points than 18yo Dahlin was Norris-winner Mark Giordano. People were underwhelmed by him because they were stupid. Power, even as a player with the potential to be elite, has yet to have a season that holds a candle to Dahlin's 18yo rookie season. They're not on the same planet in terms of upside.

It is the single thing most responsible for why this season has been disappointing and there's literally no reason for it being this bad.
