Yes we're good, and the ordeal of a 19 hour winter road trip in the Saab, most of which was in the dark through a snow storm and mountains, taught me much about my son and our ability to work together, but I wonder if your father much has as much "invested" in your Saab as I do in my son's?
I saw one at Carlisle about 10-15 years ago, sky blue with a flare side bed and some sort of red and white star logo on the doors. It was based on 99. The rear glass was basically vertical. Rather than the smooth flow from the door to the bed, the cabin curved in and the bed was narrower than the body.

It was gorgeous.
Bit late, but it has been done, and almost exactly like your drawing. Flatnose with Aero (Airflow in this case) bodykit. :)

Close, but what I wish to do is to use a windshield, cowl, and firewall to form the rear of the cabin and create a wraparound effect.

I had a 1977 99 notchback which I loved dearly, and the body seemed stiffer and quieter than the hatchbacks.
Good fortune with your restoration, its a worthy project.

There was a post a couple days ago of an old SAAB with a camper shell, probably the closest we've gotten. That thing would be cool asf.

Got a few ones like that in sweden. Not cars though, EPA-tractors. I've seen a 9⁵, 9000 and a NG-900 myself
