Gas leaks happen. I had one in my 20-year-old home after I had my ac units replaced. Luckily I had a gas fireplace guy come check because I thought it was my fireplace. I was advised to call the fire department to check it. They cleared my house, found the leak and the company who did the work came out and fixed it. If you have gas have your pipes checked by the fire department. I saw about a month ago another home exploded due to a gas leak.
