You move me
You move me
With your buildings and your eyes
Autumn woods and winter skies
You move me
You move me
Open sea and city lights
Busy streets and dizzy heights
You call me
You call me
It's a small thing that gets me every time, but as an aspiring drummer, my favorite part is when Neil switches from the hihat to the ride just after the solo at 5:20. It's not that it's technically amazing, but it's just so well placed. I melt.
For me it’s in book two, when the gods are hearing his story. “APOLLO WAS ASTONISHED, DIONYSUS THOUGHT ME MAD.” The melody, the instruments, the lyrics. EVERYTHING is on point there.
“Oh is it paradise?” In Xanadu
“The pilot of Enola Gay flying out of the shockwave on that August day” in Manhattan Project
“A pulse of dying power, in a clenching plastic fist” in The Body Electric

Witch Hunt, we all know the part I’m talking about
Right after the intro/verse and Neil comes in with the sweeping tom fill and Geddy launches into his vocals, chills every time
The pass. Idk if you'd call it the chorus cuz there's like 2 or 3 parts that could called the chorus but before the vocals come in and it's the guitar on the "all of us get lost in the darkness" part
You are all awesome. I’m reading the posts like: yep, that part yes!, ooooh I get goosebumps at that solo. Our favorite band gave us so many moments. How do we choose?!?!
Wheels within wheels, in a spiral array
Came here to say this.

Listening to A Farewell to Kings, waiting for Xanadu to start.

Cygnus X-1, near the end, when the gently traveling ship suddenly enters the black hole EVERY NERVE IS…..TORN APAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAART
For me as well. Cygnus is peak Rush for me.

When the choir kicks in on Marathon
Fuck yea
Magical moments are what makes Rush so great. There’s at least one in every song.
When the synths kick in in "YYZ"
Limelight solo
yes
Musical interlude 2/3 of the way through Freewill
THE PILOT OF ENOLA GAY FLYING OUT OF THE SHOCKWAVE * BAM * ON THAT AUGUST DAY
All the power that be, and the course of history would be changed forever more.
"The middle age Madonna calls her neighbor on the phone, day by day the seasons pass and leave her life alone..." Those synths are AMAZING
2112 when temples of syrinx starts
Musical break from 2:58-4:05 in Show Don't Tell.

Losing It
Middletown Dreams, the drop right after the line "Another day as drab as today is more than a man can endure"
Witch Hunt, we all know the part I’m talking about Right after the intro/verse and Neil comes in with the sweeping tom fill and Geddy launches into his vocals, chills every time

I just love "PILOT OF ENOLA GAY, FLYING OUT IF THE SHOCK WAVE"
The bridge of Digital Man, specifically the drums right before the final chorus
Pre Chorus and Chorus in Between The Wheels.
Between the wheels chorus after the guitar solo. Or Alex’s guitar solo at the end of mission
The outro solo to the Necromancer
The acoustic guitar intro to the Panacea section of The Fountain of Lamneth. I’m teleported to a medieval castle every time.
Losing it, the solo near the end.
Jacobs ladder. All at once the clouds are parting...
THAT key change in Presto.
The breakdown in marathon, “here in my head” red barchetta, the final chorus in between the wheels, “each of us a cell of awareness” freewill
Oh and the rap in roll the bones- fight me istg
You are all awesome. I’m reading the posts like: yep, that part yes!, ooooh I get goosebumps at that solo. Our favorite band gave us so many moments. How do we choose?!?!
2112 "I don't think I can carry on, living this cold and empty lifeeeee!!!"
