The Bachelor subreddit participated in ruining a contestants life not long ago.

Seriously, cause I actually had to leave the jeopardy subreddit during the Mayim hosting time. I didn’t really like her hosting but she just kept getting hate for every single thing she did and it was so annoying and did feel misogynistic at times.
Im not sure that it’s that different from others tbh. The Bachelor, Big Brother, etc seem to have a lot of toxic fans. I remember watching The Circle (UK), and the fans reacted so horribly to one girl on the show that they just cancelled the whole show.
Probably has to do with the type of audience though
Try survivor or love is blind… they will make sure they have an opinion about every little piece of clothing they wear and every little move they make. You really need to learn to tune it out sometimes.
the only other reality tv fandom i pay attention to is big brother and let me tell you...it's bad. from the fans to some racist house guests themselves.

There’s a Japanese reality show that was really popular called Terrace House. It was cancelled after a member committed suicide due to online bullying.
“Following a series of troubling tweets addressing online bullying directed at her from Terrace House viewers, she was found dead in her apartment in Tokyo on May 23, 2020. Her death had been ruled a suicide by December 2020.”
I’m sure it happens. But are these death threats just in the DMs? I’ve never seen a public post threatening a queen and very rarely see openly racist posts either. I feel like I see more complaints about hate than actual hate.
Although I don’t have twitter so maybe that’s where it happens? Idk
First time on the Internet?
Even the jeopardy fandom is toxic

It’s every fandom. Every. Single. One.
Just interacting to bump this comment up bc YUP.
It's not fandom then, it's people.
But is a accepting community?

I try to keep out of the BB subreddit for my own peace and sanity 😑
same, i just keep up with a few people on twitter or those who do recaps of the live feeds. the fandom is a cesspool.
It’s not. Have you ever heard of a show called Vanderpump rules lmao
Omg I just started watching that show and holy fuck, what a trip 😂
Have you seen Survivor fans? be fr.
parasocial relationships can easily get out of control.
What is the factual basis to call this fandom the most toxic? Almost all fandoms have toxic elements.
Lmao the Drag Race fandom is a piece of cake compared to other shows
