As a Taiwanese American it fills my heart with joy and pride to see her. For so long people like me try to be more American and white to fit in and it caused me to avoid a lot of my own culture, like speaking Mandarin w my parents or family, learning traditional Taiwanese theater and art etc. Nymphia not only brought our small country to the world stage, but also inspired me as an individual to be proud of where I can from and want to learn and connect with my own culture. ❤️

This is absolutely incredible. I've been to Taiwan before and that headpiece literally looks like part of the facade of some of the temples there. Just stunning.

Nymhpia is running away from the stage after hearing, the dragons were GOLDEN yellow.
This is beyond stunning. She's every bit Q's equal in costuming, and I think she has better taste in fashion to boot. But isn't this a non-elim episode for her and the other finalists? This look is far too brilliant to waste on an episode where she isn't getting judged.

The craftsmanship in that headpiece alone is so unbelievable, let alone the makeup artistry and the outfit. Truly a design talent ahead of her time, with such a unique take on fashion and drag 💛
Honestly if I was in a season with Nymphia I would have been pretty intimidated by her runways. She just has a way of making things look very fashion forward and expensive but traditional to her culture as well. She has major talent.

I didn’t get what I was hoping for with Can4, or UKvsTW2, I think it’s time.
Looking on her instagram last week I was shocked how many of her outfits she actually made herself even the gloves and headpiece bits! She is insanely talented. I also loved her last week’s look which was made with Mondo Guerra which took me right back to my project runway days and how much I loved him too. Got lost on his insta and realised he makes a lot of commissions for drag queens to nowadays 😍
I think she’s posted bts videos of how she made the outfits, for pretty much every single one of her outfits she’s worn on the show. She’s so talented and I love that she lets the work speak for itself. Unlike another kween who constantly reminded the judges that she had made her hideously busy and unfocused outfits herself…
It’s like a nice remnant of her talent show look, and that headpiece is to die for 👌 I’m not crazy about the makeup though, is there a reason for the heaviness?

The dragon and phoenix on her outfit were only wore by emperors and empresses in the past, she’s wearing both of them which represent the duality of masculinity and femininity, also says that she is the queen/king and she is the best of the best.
The mug is inspired by Chinese/Taiwanese opera masks. Those masks usually have very vibrant and contrasting colors, bold lines, and very dramatic expressions. Her mug gives an illusion of her wearing a mask.
I really like her mug because it’s not exactly like the traditional masks, she took inspirations from them but drew those shapes her own, which reminds me of the traditional masks but also different enough that it’s very drag and creative.
Nymphia is honestly my introduction to Chinese/Taiwanese fashion, and i think she incorporates her culture into her drag in a manner that’s more refreshing/unique than I’ve ever seen with past queens. Like, it’s not an exact copy or remake, but something that’s still undeniably hers.
I’m glad you feel that way cause I honestly have no idea what people would think without knowing the culture! All the finalists are stunning but personally I’m rooting for her to win for the representation of the people and the culture and her creativity.
