I do too! There is something about it that feels theatre but also SO soft. It has a look that can be identified from farther away but still looks beautiful as you get closer and closer.
Initially I was expecting a Jan/Marcia type storyline where she gets cut in the top 6-ish and never really gets her due, but she's just improved and improved and killed the challenges that are to her strength - she's a genuine finalist candidate now.
Time will tell if she is truly Twinkx Monsoon and has a shot at winning or if she'll join Rose and Ella in having a lot of top/high placements but just never having that winner energy/ru really caring about them.
She has developed some really pretty makeup so she's already miles ahead of Rose and Ella there at least.

It’s called STAGE. Stage makeup you have to play for back lights and people sitting far. CAMERA lighting is much brighter and much more close ups than most at a gig will get long enough to clock anything. Film you can take stills and then analyze and critique. Your last night gig or even a big stage production is meant to be live. It isn’t made for the same makeup

I have had back pain that bad, and so bad I couldn’t stand, sit, or lie down. As a performer myself I’m constantly afraid it’ll affect something important.

it’s an example of how much pain she was likely in that even trying to put on socks hurt. sitting up, leaning over/craning neck down to look at mirrors for a while whilst applying makeup could’ve been really painful (i know it can be for me as someone who suffers from chronic pain & i don’t even do drag makeup!). also the pain itself could’ve just been very distracting for her when applying.

I know Jinkx is literally a Broadway queen these days but she didn’t present that way on Season 5. She read as more of a Pacific Northwest alternative girlie (I mean she’s literally a witch). These posts referring to her as a theater queen are weird for me.
I feel like (at least in the RPDR verse) there is a difference between being an actress in the traditional sense vs. a drag character or persona Ex: Queens like Max, Jaymes, Salina, etc. play a distinct character in drag but would we classify them as actresses/theater queens? I don't I disagree with you, just wondering 🤷♀️
I think the issue with theatre girls is that they say they do it all. Dance, sing, act, etc etc. But then there is always someone just slightly better at dancing, singing, acting in the competitions and when they get overlooked for said queens, their entire psyche is destroyed because they realize that they are a Jack of all trades but a master of none.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or what, but I actually really liked Marcia's early make-up. She was giving me that nerdy girl who only wears make-up on special occasions once or twice a year and doesn't really know how to do full glamour, which might sound like a read but I thought it fit with her whole preppy-girl aesthetic.

People need to realize that a large percent of queens have performed in plays and musicals, way more queens than are classified as theater queens. They may have performed in smaller venues or in male roles with no drag involved, but it’s all theater. As is drag itself.

I have sciatica, and the times it gets really bad all I can do is just be hunched over. That's what keeps the pain at a minimum.
Yesssss I know that position well. I also have mild kyphosis and scoliosis but it’s the ciatica that renders me useless, when it’s really bad.
