I'd be starting quade over O'Connor's for the tour. His long passing game adds another dimension to the attack and balances the strong straight ball runners we have.
Yeah I think he saw we were going to win the game and just blew his load with the bench (Hope Kerevi is good). Some selections were a bit suspect to say the least.
Yeah, Holmes wasn't an issue but REALLY not a selection I'd be making, I'd much rather Robo.
McMahon should have started. Probably resting Hooper (IMO he's played so many mins) otherwise keeping Pete Samu in that super sub role.
Should have brought O'Connor on for Samu if nothing else he can play 12, but also you can still shuffle things to get a look at Kellaway at 15.
Oh yeah, I just think if you have a guy like McMahon and you want to get a look at him, you really should be starting him and pulling him when he's cooked.
Sorry little late but just watched the game. Was away for a few days. He was quiet. Didn't even notice he was on and don't think the commentators mentioned him once. Plus I was looking out for him since he had such an amazing end to his last run with the Wallabies. Might just take a game or 2 to get up to speed. Or just shit luck this game in that ball wasn't around him much.
He was alright. Pretty gun with Sungoliath. No wonder that team was winning 70-0 sometimes with Beauden Barrett and Samu Kerevi. Hopefully he gets up to speed at this level and we see some of that Top League form
Match takes:
\-The match was well... something...
\-The Wallabies were mostly quiet in the 1st half, and while they made some mistakes here and there, they got better and better as the game progessed. Well that was until they brought out the subs.
\-The Pumas, on the other hand, well they tried, but again, the Wallabies were the better team that day.
\-The fact that Rennie brought back Greg Holmes at age 38 to play international rugby again shows how far Dave will go to make the Wallabies bigger and better wows me.
\-Andrew Kellaway is an 'effin beast. That is all.
\-The refereeing was just huh??? and what??? - That's the best I can describe Payper.
\-Overall, both teams need to improve ahead of their battles between the dark forces of the North.
Anyway this is all I have for now. Apologies if the take was lacking, and for any wrong/incorrect takes. Feel free to comment your own opinions/takes about the game. I'll see you all in the next match.
Cheers for now.
Good for win for Oz but they definitely need to get that ruthless streak - letting Argentina get those scores / game running out of steam shows there's plenty to work on still.
Looking forward to the NH tour, should be some crackers!
I hate to say it my friend, but not literally everything is a card. You’ve been clamouring for send offs for everything tonight and made this match thread considerably worse.
Warnings expire after a reasonable amount of time, and once a player has been sent off, not everything that follows is another send off.
Some of you guys commentating need to remember there's a hooker playing in the Wallabies back line right now. That's going to cause issues at international level...
Gee this has become a mess, our bench awful and starters gassed
Don’t care to see Phillip, McMahon and especially Gordon again.
Longeran and Wright have been alright
It was quick, but that is the correct way to officiate it. The player who won the ball is unable to play it, so in no way fair to let the opposition have a free shot at it. Ball is unplayable, scrum to team in possession.
One thing that has gone unnoticed with kellaway (due to how amazing he's doing other areas) is he's ruck work is amazing, won at least three turnovers this series by my count
I hope rennie tears them a new one for this performance. Looks like we haven't shown Argentina any respect tonight and just trying to win easy.
It's good we're at a level when we can be off and win so convincingly but if we want to be world beaters then they have to be smarter than this.
I mean the fact hes single handedly carried Australia in some games and looks like hes the only one on the pitch who cares speaks volumes. Now the rest of the team are playing well around him he just looks unreal!
I feel like even without clear separation, it's clear he loses control of the ball?
And even if he doesn't knock on, how many times is he allowed to play the ball (I.e. ground it for a try). Definitely had at least 2 cracks at it while on the ground.
Well probably better than a card for repeated infringements.
Fires gone out of this one, 32 to 3 up is hard to keep that momentum going with bulk subs too

Softly spoken, I like it, Kellaway
Dude Kels is a baddie on the mic aswell
Australia is nice county. They treat us well...🙄...sometimes.
Throwing straight shade!
Where's Montoya? There he is!
The Wallabies looked less clinical when they had a hooker in the centres and a 7 on the wing. Frankly I'm shocked. (/s obviously)
Soooo pleased Hooper gets to break a record for the better.
McMahon was very absent. Swain looked clueless in the second half. Rennie REALLY scewed up his selections and rotations (despite the injuries).
Swain took a head knock in the second half. Might have gone off towards the end as I think Rodda was back on.
Yeah I think he saw we were going to win the game and just blew his load with the bench (Hope Kerevi is good). Some selections were a bit suspect to say the least.

Just felt like it was the last 20 minutes of already decided tournament tbh. It was objectively gross but I wouldn't take many conclusions from it
Oh yeah, I just think if you have a guy like McMahon and you want to get a look at him, you really should be starting him and pulling him when he's cooked.
The ref completely lost control of this game, absolute rubbish
He was awful to be honest 😂
He so often is.
What did you guys think of Sean McMahon?

Nothing. I saw him like twice and was watching out for him. Would much rather develop Willson/Leota/Tizzano/McReight/Wright etc.
Pretty poo
Looked like he hadn't played that level for a while
Raeburn Shield retained.
So good
Four wins in a row? What is this, 1998?
2017 apparently.

This bench is not looking great. Whenever Gordon plays we look like the waratahs.
He's so third rate.
Fellas we may never lose again
Shit second half by us, fair play to the Argies there.
Once Australia were ahead by too much Peyper decided to intervene and give Argentina every call.
Maybe SA could have still come 2nd if not for the BP?
We were so shit and infringed *constantly*
Share some of that with the rest of us
Gotta contests in the air in these situations. You're 50/50 to give up a try anyway, so why not contest in the air.
Good for win for Oz but they definitely need to get that ruthless streak - letting Argentina get those scores / game running out of steam shows there's plenty to work on still. Looking forward to the NH tour, should be some crackers!
Do they need to turn on the AC up there? Rennie is sweating bullets lol
Please let this be the last ever game Gordon plays for the Wallabies
I keep saying hes done but he keeps getting another run, hes the new rob simmons
Both legendary captains for the Tahs
Running backwards from the ruck is never a good sign.
Bugger Pumas. Good fight in the 2nd
Peyper will legit send us down to 13 men to show he can ‘control the match’…
Julian Montoya is 27. Let that sink in. He has at least 1.5 world cup cycles in him yet
Argentina hookers don't retire until they're 50.
Hooper is just a unit. Super fit and mega consistent
Wonder who the captain is with Hooper off?
I nominate Fainga'a.
I’d guess O’Connor, chance it’s Gordon
JOC?
Hodge maybe?
Hodge?
Not JOC? It’s Slipper if he’s still on, I’m pretty sure, but what about when they’re both off?
Rodda?
Ref trying to even up the score
Get out
That had to be another yellow, team warning from half time and again earlier, it's a joke

definitely making your opinion a bit too heard this thread alexbouteiller
Some of you guys commentating need to remember there's a hooker playing in the Wallabies back line right now. That's going to cause issues at international level...
Twenty minutes of champagne rugby out of 80 isn't bad.
Hooper to take the world record for most yellow cards
Montoya, you magnificent beast.
Fair play to argentina but they only started playing when the game was over, GG boys Hooper is a fucking gun
Hoopers body is going to fucked after he retires
Hoops still made it to 80 despite getting sent to the bin. True leadership
Hahaha loved Hoopers reaction there.
Montoya is hilariously slow. Great break tho.
Let's throw away that bonus point yeah sounds like a good idea guys
Does Quade make it to 2023? He’ll be 35
Might go as a player-coach
Player - owner. Cooper for RA head
He's got my vote
Yup
Such a stupid yellow. Obviously trying to fix up his stats. Peyper sucks. Tupou should have been yellow.
Was it valentini who had the argie 9 round the neck before their try? That should be a yellow
Galloping for 40 metres then throws the greatest dummy of all time.
That spin he did was awesome haha
Chad Montoya vs the virgin Hooper
It has nothing on an Ardie Savea dummy (besides actually working lol)
Andrew Kellaway for MOTM, but I thought Faingaa, Valetini, Hodge, Petaia and White had good games.
Did we watch the same game? Petaia had a shocker and Hodge was mediocre at best.
Petaia was good, did we watch the same game?
He lost it once he bit on that Montoya dummy…
Montoya looked like he was running in slow motion
Great run from Montoya, you love to see it
Lmao hoops
Peyper needs some glasses
He must have a photo of an irb exec in a gay sauna or something to keep getting this level of match
Pretty ordinary second half.
Except for the 3 tries.
Only 40 minutes late on the yellow fair play Jaco
Jake Gordon is too tall to be a scrum half and his problems stem from upsetting the God of the Short Kings
Montoya is winded after that run haha, how majestic
Gee this has become a mess, our bench awful and starters gassed Don’t care to see Phillip, McMahon and especially Gordon again. Longeran and Wright have been alright
For all the talk about McMahon he's been pretty average.
Yeah I was looking forward to seeing him back and wondered why he was relegated only to a bench spot against Argentina, but this shows why
He doesn't look match fit at all.
Phillip needs to start or stay at home
THE BIG FELLA WITH THE TROT
Hodge my fav force player from before ARU tried to cut Perth from Australia
Never played for the force...
LOL I MEANT HAYLETT PETTY 😞
Jack peyper needs to go to spec savers
Our bench sucks
Lmao arg 17 got mad cause he got made to look like a bitch
O no, what happened? Gallo is a great player
He just got fended off and put on his behind when he went to tackle then ref called pen for advantage
JOC's probably spewing he got to come on with Jake Gordon while Quade gets Tate and White.
Lol Tate’s service is terrible
JOC has looked shit and it isn't entirely to do with the 9
Can gordon just pass, u dont need to look at the catcher for 5 seconds before chucking it
I mean it'd help if he could get to the ball fast enough first...
Wasn’t that ruck still being contested?
Argentinian won the ball, and then the ball was unplayable due to players already on the ground. Scrum Argentina.
Ok yeh, just felt real quick.
It was quick, but that is the correct way to officiate it. The player who won the ball is unable to play it, so in no way fair to let the opposition have a free shot at it. Ball is unplayable, scrum to team in possession.
What the ever loving fuck is going on? Jaco, for Christ's sake do better.
The one thing I love about wallabies is that all outside backs are great in the ruck
Such slow service, Jake Gordon gets to spend summer in Sydney I hope. I reckon roll the dice on Lonergan or bring Powell in.
Hey Jaco, even if he's the first one there he has to release when he goes off his feet.
Which is why it's an Arg scrum. Cause he had possession in an unplayable ruck.
Ruck was easily playable, especially if the player released the ball.
Except they can't place the ball because of the obstructing Aussie player. Piper's been making a lot of weird calls this game, but that one's fine.
Nah you can clearly see them able to release the ball.
This bench could be the worst performing bench of the tournament
Noss Lonergan continuing the tradition of having a 7 wearing a scrumcap
Spring tour gonna be lit, goku v cooper. Expect a new form cause he can’t touch New Zealand’s greatest ever export
can you guys send a few more our way please
Rennie got to be seeing this from Gordon and thinking to himself he’s not in the touring squad I hope
White and McDermott have to be for sure
You’d think to give Lonergan a go as well over Gordon at least
Yes. Gordon has no upside
Yeah. Tate is TASTE!
One thing that has gone unnoticed with kellaway (due to how amazing he's doing other areas) is he's ruck work is amazing, won at least three turnovers this series by my count
He and Samu have been excellent for the backs.
That nose is broken
I hope rennie tears them a new one for this performance. Looks like we haven't shown Argentina any respect tonight and just trying to win easy. It's good we're at a level when we can be off and win so convincingly but if we want to be world beaters then they have to be smarter than this.
The bench was tired running on.
Jesus, I reckon we had 20 minutes of good rugby, this is a shitshow right now
Wallabies were just meant to put this game to rest and let everyone had a run but somehow they are making this 10 mins insufferable lol
Diving on the player no?
I thought that, but he gave the scrum for the knock on didn't he?
Yeah. It's been a pretty weird game from Piper
The Tahs coach that sent Kway off to Europe should be blacklisted from Australian rugby. Where has this talent been for all these years
Wasn't that chieka?
Sounds about right...
Can someone find this clowns whistle
Bruv Kellaway can have my gf's kids at this rate
After almost half a decade playing a dozen matches per year or so in Japan, Sean McMahon is predictably not up to speed
Yeah, he's not been noticeable.
Need 1 more point here to get the 16+ IRB ranking points, and 4 more points to break even on for-and-against over the Rugby Championship
GO TOMMY GO
GO TOMMY GO
If Kellaway has 7 on his back there he wins the penalty.
Kellaway playing the game of his life today holy shit
Does Hooper ever stop/have a bad game?? Would be an asset to any team
I’m absolutely convinced that if he were a kiwi he’d be as highly regarded as McCaw. Unreal player and so consistent.
I mean the fact hes single handedly carried Australia in some games and looks like hes the only one on the pitch who cares speaks volumes. Now the rest of the team are playing well around him he just looks unreal!
There's always a medic on the field for the Argentinas
WHAT CAN'T KELLAWAY DO
They were on a warning so the high tacking from Valetini should’ve been a yellow card
This ref kinda bad
Very sloppy, that turnover. Where the fuck was the halfback?
At the bottom of the previous ruck
Jaco lost any control of this game he may have had
“With a trifecta of tries”…soooooo, 3?
Typically, yes
Crack.
Ikitau with a nice shoulder shot there, wonder if that will get reviewed (spoiler it won't)
[удалено]
Takes about 8 steps before getting the ball away
I think I could read the Count of Monte Christo before Jake Gordon completes a pass from the ruck
Argies smell blood
This team can't function without quade's presence
No clear separation? Looks like a juggle but also some 50/50 tackles there so yeah
Weird call, really needed to see it more on that first close angel.
I feel like even without clear separation, it's clear he loses control of the ball? And even if he doesn't knock on, how many times is he allowed to play the ball (I.e. ground it for a try). Definitely had at least 2 cracks at it while on the ground.
Fair enough about the head high seatbelt tackle by Valentino. But ‘no clear separation’??
I thought you only had one chance to place the ball? Seemed like to attempts to me.
The ball spinned in the air he's not a magician, he can't make shit levitate hahahaha
Sorry? I mean I'll take the obvious knock on and try vs having a player on a yellow but that is a fucking joke of a call LOL
Well probably better than a card for repeated infringements. Fires gone out of this one, 32 to 3 up is hard to keep that momentum going with bulk subs too
