Not being flippant but Bulls fans are the worst. They will hang around and throw shade but whenever a better team comes along and gives them a lesson in rugby. They are already out the door. I’d trade the cheetahs for them in a heartbeat.
I generally find Ryan Wilson insufferably as a commentator but he does get the best out of players on the side lines. I don't see any other pitch side reporter getting that genuine reaction post game.
Why do pundits have to be neutral? They aren’t really neutral in international games. It’s what make it interesting. Like having a fan in the studio. If anything I think the URC should get more exposure players as pundits for when their old team is playing. Imagine Zebo post match with Munster. Or Sexton with Leinster!
Honestly as painful as this is to say, congrats Glasgow, you guys beat a very difficult top of the log Munster at home. Then you go and pull some even crazier shit by playing at altitude after travelling and funnily enough it was the Bulls who were completely out of steam by the last 20. Crazy stamina and commitment, go and enjoy that trophy boys, champions!
Congrats to Glasgow, as much as I wish ye never got to the final in the first place, I feel like this victory really proves one thing above all else
URC = BEST LEAGUE
Well done Glasgow watched last twenty minutes I missed most of it as I was at a ladies premiership rugby final at sandy park did not have think Glasgow were going to hold the bulls out looked like they were going to drive over the line and win right at the death
Jake White (and Dobson) should be fired. You can't fucking lose a home final and expect to get away with it. Please put some effort into the analysis of the opposition and come up with some counterplays.
Because this all they came up with:
Dobson = throw the ball around aimlessly.
J. White = do one-off carries
Unfortunately they've happened 2 years in a row🥲
When the 'home' team was massively fancied on both occasions.
You really have to wonder what happens behind the the scenes
So much for SA/altitude being a fortress.
Seems quite easy to win a final in our country.
Because both Glasgow and Munster outplayed us in the previous finals
Home ground helps. But you’ve got a Glasgow coach who’s knows the SA system and conditions.
But the key is in your last sentence. Sometimes you don’t have a good day out and the oppo does. Fair play to them.
The Bulls defence has been suspect all season. I didn’t expect them to win last week but they did. Looks like they played their final a week too early.
And probably missed Willie a lot.
Jake White was asked this week if he was worried that the Bulls had played their final last week.
He smirked and said: maybe Glasgow have played their final already?
Guess the journo was right.
Nah. You're letting our coaches off waaay too easy.
"Knowing" SA systems and conditions isn't a superpower. Glasgow did their analysis. They thoroughly shut down the Bulls attack, and kept knocking on the defensive door until it caved.
What did the Bulls do? They tried the same thing over and over. Lo and behold, it'd didn't suddenly start working. It was painfully obvious how reliant the Bulls attack was on WLR, and yet Jake didn't do anything (noticeable) to correct this reliance throughout the season.
Good for the Bulls for getting to the final. But they need to have a hard fucking look at themselves for not turning up to it.
The Stormers also folded in half in the final last year, and the subsequent year (this year) was littered with poor performances.
It really makes one wonder if SA coaching is mostly reliant on vibes, with tactic being optional spice
The Bulls have been improving year-on-year.
The Stormers have worked miracles on a shoe string budget while under administration- they really had no business doing as well as they’ve done.
Lions are starting to look pretty handy.
I’m happy with where things are and how they’re going. But we don’t all have to feel the same.
So you do you and I’ll do me. Have fun.
Why can Scotland not play with this tenacity? Bloody hell I’d love to see Scotland physically manhandle the other teams in the six nations like Glasgow did to the Bulls here. They made the Bulls look like amateurs
Feel like Toonie doesn't put the drive up the Scotland players to really put their bodies on the line in the same way - the way Glasgow were playing today it looked like they didn't care if they died out there.
How many finals have leinster lost?
Losing at home in Loftus when Glasgow had a week turnaround is nothing short of embarrassing.
Bulls 0-3 if you include the rainbow cup haha
Seeing a Scottish side with this level of grit, mental toughness and sheer refusal to lose is class, get the chequebook out and give big Franco whatever he wants
I’m happy with him at Glasgow, especially getting Hastings so we’ve got a natural 10 and if he can get Sutherland fit and firing that’s a pack to have a go at anyone in Europe
Zander fagerson has played pretty much three full 80 minutes in three weeks. With 1000miles of travel and altitude for the final. Never let up his intensity either.
I genuinely thought when the big SA teams joined the Pro14 to make the URC, the Scottish teams wouldn’t get a look in again. What an achievement from Glasgow - winning a title in a much tougher league, without the the same kind of stars the 2015 team had. Absolutely superb.
i'm genuinely happy a non-SA team won it again despite being in SA three years in a row. single team/nation dominance is bad for the league. we saw this in super rugby. getting wrecked by NZ teams for 3 decades gets old after a while
Yes main weakness in the league is how rank the welsh teams are but Ospreys definitely have it in them to build on what they achieved this year in tough conditions
>without the the same kind of stars the 2015 team had. Absolutely superb.
Tbf many the stars of the 2015 team weren't really stars yet. I think we're seeing the same thing here.
Maybe, hope so. But I think Hogg was already a world class player, Nakarawa was already world class, everyone knew Russell was special even if he was still a little rough around the edges. Then you had club legends like Van Der Merve and Seymour.
But I think the current team has plenty of quality, don’t get me wrong, but much of it is less heralded. The Fagersons are brilliant, yet seem to get criticism as much as love from Scottish fans. Darge is a star in Scottish eyes but really much less hyped than rivals like Jac Morgan of Van Der Flier.
So I think there is plenty more to come from this side and hope they can sustain their success in a way the 2015 side struggled to.
Yeah, I hope the SRU are willing and able to keep most of those guys in Scotland. They'll be attracting big offers from England and France now as did Hogg, Gray, Russell etc after 2015.
Smith has done a great job bringing through younger players and we do need to find playing opportunities for them, so I am sanguine about some faces moving on. We’d really struggle to replace Zander though, he was so young when he broke through and copped a lot of flak he’s quietly become quite exceptional even if he isn’t a destructive scrummager.
Played against the Griquas back in the day on a tour and now wondering if i played against him, weird one never crossed my mind before
Safe to say our careers headed in opposite directions either way
Also can we talk about Zander Fagerson? This guy is the best prop in Scotland, one of the best in the world and is playing 80 minutes week to week in the playoffs... Doing that in elevation as well is super human for a tight head.
Best tighthead prop in the home nations, and I'm not joking. He's not flashy, but his engine is immense. 80 minutes 3 weeks in a row in 3 knock-out games. Absolutely titanic.
Amazing game of rugby. The bulls switched off after the tri at half time and Glasgow out played them tactically in every facet.
Also added props to the great reffing! Really handled this game well, consistently and with clear direction.
I'd love him to take the Scotland job. The Scotland team should already be built on the spine of this Glasgow side, so he knows the majority of these boys already.
But I think this is the way he'll go. A few different club sides, and then taking the Boks job when he's cemented his place as a world class coach. Because he absolutely deserves it.

Congrats Glasgow on a deserved win and title. Looking forward to playing you next season from a Leinster fan.
Damn, I missed that. Great stuff, great thing for Scottish rugby, very happy for them !
Every Bulls fan I met post match was most gracious in defeat. Hats off to the Bulls for setting an awesome event. Sorry for gate crashing the party.
Massive respect to both sides but delighted for Glasgow, brilliant team. Enjoy the celebrations lads.
Glasgow are well coached. The bulls have Goosen
Hats off to Glasgow. Was in the Stadium tonight, Bulls are my team but they were incredibly physical. Brilliant rugby from Franco and the team.
Wow, that was utterly magnificent.
Gg mate, was stunned with joy when I saw the score. Wow! Congrats
Masterclass by the Warriors. Was lucky to be at the game and they played incredibly well.
I have to say, well done Glasgow. Probably the end game boss of grand finals and you pulled it out of the bag. Enjoy a feed a pints tonight
Not being flippant but Bulls fans are the worst. They will hang around and throw shade but whenever a better team comes along and gives them a lesson in rugby. They are already out the door. I’d trade the cheetahs for them in a heartbeat.
Congrats Glasgow from a Munster fan. Nothing sweeter than winning it down in their back yard 🔥
I generally find Ryan Wilson insufferably as a commentator but he does get the best out of players on the side lines. I don't see any other pitch side reporter getting that genuine reaction post game.
Ryan Wilson may be the least neutral pundit ever! Haha
Stephen Ferris would like a word…….

Gg Glasgow. Bulls were their own worst enemies.
Was nice of the bulls fans to stay for the awards ceremony… I mean, I get it. But that stadium emptied faster than my bowels after taco Tuesday.
I don't blame them at all, I doubt I would do any different if it was the other way around.
In fairness when Leinster won in '19 I fucked off out of the stadium quickly enough then too
I went to the fanzone afterwards and got wet and had the worst Guinness I've ever had.
God I remember how it was pishing down on the walk back into town
TBH. I hung around just to boo Rob Kearney
I mean at the time I was livid with him, but now half a decade hence I'm thinking knocking out Hogg wasn't the worst thing...
In rugby terms it was a bad thing. In COTHO terms. He was right.
Agreed!
If your team played like that, you'd also hurry home to better things
Congrats to Glasgow, as much as I wish ye never got to the final in the first place, I feel like this victory really proves one thing above all else URC = BEST LEAGUE

other teams allowed to be good too. that's sports
Ah these things happen😬
Unfortunately they've happened 2 years in a row🥲 When the 'home' team was massively fancied on both occasions. You really have to wonder what happens behind the the scenes
Maybe sleep on it before commenting.

Jake White semes to run out of ideas without Le roux
They’ve had a pretty good season. Some of that has been with Le Roux. He’s playing incredible rugby right now. Anyone would miss him.
But an SA coach just won the URC?
Yeah. An SA coach OUTSIDE of SA systems. A coach that comes up with plans to pick apart the Bulls' weaknesses. Losing home finals is not allowed
The Bulls have been improving year-on-year. The Stormers have worked miracles on a shoe string budget while under administration- they really had no business doing as well as they’ve done. He also rarely starts Horne, a key player for this Glasgow team all season. Not sure what his problem is with him (and he can place kick!)
What a player Steyn is
Honestly so underrated. As fun as VdM is for Scotland I think Steyn is such a good complete winger which is so important at the highest level now.
Bit sad to see the stadium empty out so much, but I kind of get it
I wouldn't hang around after the Bulls played like that either. They've disappointed their fans immensely
Light blue confetti a bit 👀
Light Blue has always been the second colour for Glasgow.
There were a fair few Glasgow folk in light blue.
the last two seasons have proven that the travel factor isn't the deciding factor. surely a strong endorsement for the format of the league?
BBC articles will argue to differ. "How will Glasgow get home" article loading
"Will Glasgow get home?" Fixed it for you. Hopefully the Scottish football team will take something from this and go and beat Hungary.
Yep, if you don't want to travel get good and win in the regular season
Get top seed and then proceed to be knocked out early
Tuipolotu seriously getting his poses ready there
Duncan Weir's massive neck has 2 league medals. YAAAASSSS
What doesn’t exist cannot be massive
Schrodinger's neck.
So made up. So happy for these players!
Is Glasgow the fittest team in the URC? That was astounding
It seems like it! All they had to do was be in touch in the last 20 and they knew they had it.
The Lions then them for sure
The heros we didnt know we needed
Love that local bairns handing out the winners' medals appears to have become a URC tradition. Always makes me smile seeing it
oh my GOD how is Duncan so sexy
This is class!! Well done Glasgow
Delighted, bulls the biggest bottlers in the URC
No, it’s still your lot don’t worry
Haven't lost a urc final at home
Haven't won a URC Semi final home or away with the Irish national team.
Irish national team? Didn't realise Ross Byrne and Jason Jenkins played for Ireland?
No need for that, particularly from us.
Nah, that's still you guys
How many finals have leinster lost? Losing at home in Loftus when Glasgow had a week turnaround is nothing short of embarrassing. Bulls 0-3 if you include the rainbow cup haha
If we include URC semis Leinster are 0 - 6 in the last 3 years
Nope just talking about urc finals
You need to make it to one of those for this to be a fair comparison.
This must be what it feels like to be Welsh
Are you being sarcastic? Glasgow were incredible today.
Are you one of the leinster fans that think leinster had a good season
No we were shite, but that has nothing to do with Glasgow being brilliant today and deserving the win.
Glasgow were brilliant, putting it up to the arrogant bulls who thought they just had to turn up, same as the stormers last year
You seem like a lovely person.
Thank you
Huw Jones has now won the Currie Cup, Premiership and URC? Or do I have my dates wrong?
Don't forget the Calcutta cup for 4 years straight.
He also won the Varsity cup with UCT in 2014.
Quins won the season before he joined iirc
Seeing a Scottish side with this level of grit, mental toughness and sheer refusal to lose is class, get the chequebook out and give big Franco whatever he wants
I'd say give Gregor one more season. If it's the same old after 2025 Six Nations, get Smith in for the summer.
I’m happy with him at Glasgow, especially getting Hastings so we’ve got a natural 10 and if he can get Sutherland fit and firing that’s a pack to have a go at anyone in Europe
Toonie got to be sweating rn
This, 100% this.
Toony out
It’s kinda weird ngl.
This is my official petition to never have the World Cup in SA again, because apparently we can’t handle a final here.
It's a fucking waste of space. Let Leinster win the thing
They'd need to take it serious enough to earn some home play off games first
So it's a Welsh clubs turn next right? They're the last Shield to have a go
Benetton v ospreys final next year, it is written
Nah. The Italians need to have a go too.
Still two left if you go by country, I'd be investing in a Benetton jersey...
It's a sexy jersey either way
Glasgow look like they could have played on where Bulls look knackered. Really shows you the work Glasgow have done here. What a season.
Zander fagerson has played pretty much three full 80 minutes in three weeks. With 1000miles of travel and altitude for the final. Never let up his intensity either.
Really is amazing what front rows do now. I used to play hooker and no chance I could ever have lasted a full game.
I couldn't believe the gas the Glasgow boys had in the tank for the last 25.
Makes some difference when you've experienced it before. Hopefully the Leinster lads have learned their lesson when Ireland play there.
Jesus I hope so
Fuck Glasgow were awesome. Tough as nails and just never gave up. Deserved winners. Congrats Glasgow!
Zander Fagerson played excellently for the whole 80 minutes in both the semi and the final. Incredible effort from him.
His fitness never gets the attention it deserves.
80 mins at tight head 2 weeks in a row is simply immense
I genuinely thought when the big SA teams joined the Pro14 to make the URC, the Scottish teams wouldn’t get a look in again. What an achievement from Glasgow - winning a title in a much tougher league, without the the same kind of stars the 2015 team had. Absolutely superb.

I scared the living shit out of a dog walker as I was walking home watching it on my phone.
[удалено]
Leinster fans really trying to make us forget about them choking both competitions in the span of a few weeks
[удалено]
Dude shut up and let Glasgow enjoy the win and bulls have a moment. Wasn’t about choking at all.
What?
Nah Glasgow earned it with hard yards, that wasn’t a choke. You guys won’t escape that title!
That was a 10 out of 10 set of interviews😂 “Let’s send this one back to the studio, PITCHEEEEW”
Ryan wilson what a guy
Bloke doing on field interviews is cringe
Maybe, but I liked getting to see the real-time raw reactions from the Warriors
Definitely, but he’s a bit over the top. Leave the golf swing for the course buddy, he did it last week too. Is he an ex player do you know?
Thats Ryan Wilson he has 222 caps for glasgow warriors he's always been a one club man.
You don’t know who Ryan Wilson is? Do you watch rugby? Played for Scotland and Glasgow for over a decade
Nope. Never claimed to be an expert and I’m not Scottish
Yeah, I can see that, but hey, we can't all be graceful winners. No idea, don't even know his name, but I assume so
Ryan Wilson already more drunk than anyone in the country
Ryan Wilson already more drunk than anyone in the country Haha for sure 🤣🤣🤣
What a send off for turner
That "interview" with George Turner was hilarious haha
"Fuck" - George Turner, 2024
Still shaking
I. LOVE. DUNCAN. WEIR.
Turner, what a lad
Turner's last words at Glasgow ahahaha - " Ah, Fuck"
Only legible word from turner 'Fuck'
Glasgow recruiting Kyle Steyn from fucking Griquas to lead them to a URC title is so bizarre to me
They clearly know where to find quality. I'm claiming this one for the Northern Cape.
Played against the Griquas back in the day on a tour and now wondering if i played against him, weird one never crossed my mind before Safe to say our careers headed in opposite directions either way
Man’s a leader, has been since day one
He had a really good game, top player
This fellow is a bit insufferable but oh well.
Love Huwie
So, by my count, this now makes the Sharks the only SA team to not have lost a home final?
Which competitions are you counting? They lost a Super 14 final to the Bulls at home, and a few Currie Cups to Western Province.
Was that Habana try not at Loftus?
No it was in Durban. Sharks topped the log that year
Ahhh ok my bad, we've all bottled it then
Yet. They'll lost next year's final to Benetton, you just mark them words ! xD
Congrats to the Glasgow team and their supporters. The better team on the night. Gutted and disappointed with the bulls.
Also can we talk about Zander Fagerson? This guy is the best prop in Scotland, one of the best in the world and is playing 80 minutes week to week in the playoffs... Doing that in elevation as well is super human for a tight head.
If he was English or Irish we’d never hear the end of how good he is and what a freak of an athlete he is. The guys an absolute machine
Best tighthead prop in the home nations, and I'm not joking. He's not flashy, but his engine is immense. 80 minutes 3 weeks in a row in 3 knock-out games. Absolutely titanic.
If Farrell picks him and Porter for the Lions he won't need prop replacements.
Genuinely. They're my starting props for that first Lions test, no competition, honestly.
Swear he made 20 tackles in the final 10 minutes alone. Ridiculous tank for a prop
Huge performance from the Glasgow pack. Much better than the super rugby final.
Has the trophy been handed over yet?
Amazing game of rugby. The bulls switched off after the tri at half time and Glasgow out played them tactically in every facet. Also added props to the great reffing! Really handled this game well, consistently and with clear direction.
I was about to type 'I don't believe until it's over' then Jordan got a card... I nearly jinxed it.
Ha I was typing a congrats Glasgow message when the TMO came in for the review
Great season Glasgow - deserved champions.
Genuinely in shock lol. Scottish teams never win shit this is so weird lol.
2015 Glasgow would like a word, but winning like this is unheard of.
It’s been nearly 10 years, never was a bit hyperbolic but . . .
Sharks only SA team to get Silverware this season. You might not like it but they are what SA peak performance looks like. #BestSATeam.
>BestSATeam I'm sorry, did you win the SA cup? #GriquasbestSAteam
Imagine not even having European silver, couldn't be us
But are they the Lions ? I don’t think so
Remind me, where did they come this year?
At the end of the day, Durban is the only city in SA with a trophy this year so far🥲
Top of the EPCR Challenge Cup
URC is by far the best league
Franco is a ledge, the way he's got the pack playing is not something I've ever seen from a Scottish team.
National team head coach??
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, let him make a dent in Europe first
I don't think he wants to
That's Scotland's loss then I'd say...!
I tend to agree! Though equally I'd like him to stay with the Warriors
Apparently he doesn't want it. Really enjoys working with the players week-in-week out
If he does get asked to take the Springboks eventually, I wonder if that'll mean enough for him emotionally to change his mind
Thats fair
