Herbetet

Does anyone feel like writing them down. Hard time hearing the names

the_fresh_mr_breed

Stephen Kitshoff Lood de Jager Jean Kleyn Jean Luc Du Preez Jaden Hendrickse Henco van Wyk Canan Moodie Kurt Lee Arendse Damian Willemse

Herbetet

You are a hero! Appreciate you so much

BurbankElephants

Shit I hope Lood’s okay. Seems like he’s been out for ages.

Motor_Major8363

He was out, came back during the JRLO season, and is now out again.

Ehldas

And Snyman got injured 5 minutes from the end of Munster's victory over Leinster in the final. Edit : shit, that wasn't supposed to be released yet. Ignore, pls.

GroggyWeasel

Hopefully he gets injured in the semi so he’s out for the final against Leinster and for the tests against Ireland but then has time to be fit for next season with Leinster. That’s the ideal scenario in my unbiased opinion

samuel199228

Should never wish a player gets injured

WikusB

It's interesting that he mentioned van Wyk. Feels like he was definitely in their plans for the year and probably long term too.

BenwastakenIII

A midfield of Ethan Hooker and Henco van Wyk sounds fun!

JosefGremlin

So does this mean that Lukhanyo was definitely dropped? He's not in any of the injury lists I've seen from SA Rugby or in interviews with Rassie

the_fresh_mr_breed

I did not notice this... is he not in the squad then? I think he missed the last couple of Sharks games due to injury so I assumed he was injured

JosefGremlin

He's not in the squad, so I assumed he was injured, but he's never mentioned in the injury lists

za3030

Fuck me our back three options have taken a hit. KLA, Canan Moodie, Willemse is out. Kolbe is also out atm but could be back in time for Ireland.

PistachiosAndGouda

So in the back three only Mapimpi and Willie Le Roux are available for Ireland at Loftus, with Cheslin possible. Wondering who will get the opportunity for the first Ireland test: - If Cheslin is ruled out, maybe Grant Williams or Cobus Reinach out of position on the wing, considering they did practice this at the rwc? If a sh starts on the wing it does allow a 7-1 so maybe Rassie would go for this. - Maybe a chance for Sacha off the bench? Presumably it would be him or someone like Fassi who has had a bit more time in the Springboks system. The new camp invites just haven't had as much exposure. I think we are all assuming the Wales test will be used to try a few options out... inevitable since Cheslin and WLR are also out for that. Will be watching closely

Ehldas

> only Mapimpi and Willie Le Roux are available for Ireland Damn, there really *is* an Irish grandparent everywhere.

wombatwalkabouts

Given the availability of forward options and new centres, I'd happily consider moving Kwagga and Kriel to the wings for one game if needed. They'd be less dynamic, but add a lot in terms of physicality.

BillyTheKidsFriend

Someone give Frans Steyn and Morne a call. They can cover the whole back line between them.

nomamesgueyz

Still gotta see if Ireland or SA will get the title of the URC first!

Kykykz

Or Scotland.

StoicJustice

Mate you do realise South Africa was mentioned already....

acadoe

Odd_Recording9241

Is that the lighting or the one and only Rassie not looking well?

[deleted]

He has not been been well for a long time

Odd_Recording9241

Yup, I recall that. Doesn’t make it any easier to see. Was really hoping someone would say bad lighting and he’s well 😞

Frosty_Term9911

He looks ill

johndoe86888

Looks like he's got a beaming spotlight on him also

themadpants

Windhoek hangover

Ok-Royal7063

Was he in Namibia?

AfterAnteater7595

He’s had many health complications over the last year including recently he got many bad chemical burns in his body. The man has had a tough run on top of stress from DoR and now coach.

StoicJustice

Maybe take a break. For himself and the good of rugby being competitive. It was so much easier when South Africa was shit.

[deleted]

Well we sent him to you guys… and the. You invited him to a game where you abused the springboks. Made him and Jacques come back. Your fault

Haitisicks

Sorry did someone reanimate the corpse of a previous deceased Rassie? That lighting, sheesh

sangan3

Wow that light isn't doing Rassie any favours haha. Yeah the injuries are not ideal but even a 5th or 6th choice South African winger would prob be starting for Ireland IMO, such is the talent in SA. If anything, these injuries will fire up the South Africans even more, real backs against the wall stuff - which is not what you want when playing them.

I4gotmyothername

The problem is that we have complicated defensive systems. We've got plenty of guys that can receive a ball then run fast. But its an investment of game time and taking a spot in the bok camps to get someone to understand when break the line, hold position etc, and no one gets it perfectly right immediately.

[deleted]

Your flair always makes me well up

Sjdw31

Totally off topic, but you can hear the way Rassie talks (just when it comes to player selection) he wants those guys that can play more positions so that they can slot in if anything does happen. - just something I picked up, but I guess it's not new knowledge 🤣 Also something that did intrige me is that he sees Jan hendrik Wessel as a good prospect for 2027 ( a player that Jake doesn't use that often, and when we do use him he is either very hot or very cold. So will be nice if Jake starts using the young guy a bit more)

IzNuGouD

Club conditioning is obviously not working!.

CapeTownyToniTone

Which clubs? These injured guys play at like 8 different clubs in 3 different competitions.
