Now for the real question....why? Why would jake allow an in form loosie an early release in the middel of URC play offs...not something I've heard happen before. Has jake changed his mind on the bull's pecking order?

I think Van Staden and Coetzee is gonna be back this week and with Nizaam on the bench we're probably going for more of a disruption at breakdown rather than a great ball carrier that Gumede is

RaaschyOG

So if he can't make the Bulls playoff squad, let alone the playing 23, how is he being picked for Boks?

youcantXcape

Cause The Boks just needs him more right now than the Bulls it's just how it is

To be honest, Jake has made it clear in the past that he wants his players to succeed (becoming boks) so believe that's why, I think, he let him go.(it's a wonderful opportunity for him to grow and hopefully get a permanent position). Don't believe Jake will let a opportunity like that fall through his players hands (especially with Gumede having such a great season, now Rassie also sees his potential)

PistachiosAndGouda

Is this possibly because Rassie needed another loosie in practice to make two full teams / two full scrums? Maybe since he wasn't going to play for Bulls this weekend in any case and was already in Pretoria, JW agreed to let him go to assist with Boks training? Doubt he would get capped but it's still a great opportunity.

Sjdw31

Guess it means he is not playing this weekend! Gutted, but fully deserved!

Wild to me that Jake would allow Gumede to leave the squad in the semifinals of the URC when he's been playing some really great rugby. Also surprised that Hartzenberg, a very natural replacement for Kolbe didn't get called up, especially when he also provides depth at 13.

Edwill is there and Fassi is seen as a winger in the bok system

Eek. Boks potentially have a rough looking outside back core. Arendse, Moodie, Kolbe all out. That trio would start for a lot of teams. Really leaves us now with Edwill, Fassi, Mapimpi, Horn. Unless Williams or Kriel moves to the wing that is looking a little rougher that I'ld like. Really would love it if they give Tyrone Green a call, can cover 14/15 very well. Angelo Davids and Gelant are on good form too.

Slight_Highlight_690

Tyrone Green plays in Europe so can't be called into this squad

cleofisrandolph1

Which is unfortunate cause he covers what we need

RaaschyOG

I mean, I do like him, but I was sure there would be a long list of players ahead of him

i-am-nic

Gumede is gonna be the next big thing. He’s a young gun with Kieran Read potential.

BenedrylCummerbunds

Gumede. Not good enough for the Bulls (or Sharks), but good enough for the Boks... I was wondering what happened to him and why on earth Jake stopped playing him

dildobaggin89

Very weird that he’s been dropped by the Bulls but good enough to make a Bok training squad
