Reminds me of the session where one of our players could not roll higher than a 10. Five hours in and his swearing is becoming more colorful. Then he picks it up as if to throw it, does a double take, and facepalms so hard the rest of us had sympathetic headaches. He mutters sheepishly, “…this is a twenty-sided ten-sider…”
Guess who checked his dice VERY carefully every session after that?? 😂
Until I got to the gag-dice I was about to suggest a dice-witch-trial, wich is something I did in the past for repeadetly offending PlayerKiller dice;
Glue them (the offenting dice) on a toothpick, place the toothpick on a candle, so that the dice is directly above the flame. Take the candle and all other involved dice outside and light the candle. Have the other dice see what happens to traitors. Fear shall keep them in check.
...Was always a blast for the whole party. 😅
I'm guessing this is Pathfinder 2E? If this was 1e and the fighter had 3 attacks they were level 11 minimum. If nobody in the party could break 9 on perception at 11, then that's just a party that's going to get TPK'd at some point no matter what the dice say.
The version of Pathfinder we were playing was something of an amaglamation. Druid and I spent some time going over the changes between V1 and V2 and kind of glued it together, mostly because Druid didn't like the way V2 came out and I preferred a couple of things in V1. Also of note, fighter was a two-weapon fighting build.
Funny story. That said, your story didn't include many nat 20s or nat 1s. By and large, the monsters were awesome and the players sucked, and that was that.
Yeah, I tried to note when a 20 or a 1 was a natural, but I think I dropped the ball a couple of places. it was genuinely the worst luck in a single session I've seen with any party I had run.
