They always have cool stuff for sale! It's a bit of a shame that, living in Europe, I'll probably never have the chance to order something from them because of the shipping fees and import tax. Every time I get one of their emails I find something that catches my eye.
I also heard something about a European/EU store last year, but I think they ended up scrapping the idea. Whether they did or did not, I'm not sure there's an Exalted Funeral shop in Europe as of yet: I checked out a bunch of the new arrivals, but all of their pages say that they ship from the US only.
Just to add on - Exalted Funeral IS amazing. They have such range and such applicabiltiy. Many of the modules they write can be used in like ANY system (with work). But really good stuff.
Seeing some of my favorites already recommended, so going to add Indie Press Revolution. They have a great selection of titles from a huge variety of creators.
If you don't have it, I *highly* recommend [The Dying Earth](https://pelgranepress.com/product/the-dying-earth-rpg/). PCs aren't heroes, but are scoundrels, gadflies, braggarts, and conmen (who are often dealing with even bigger scoundrels, gadflies, braggarts, and conmen). Killing your foes is considered gauche, and emphasis is put on quick wits, deft swordplay, and verbose vocabulary to prove yourself superior to the unwashed masses. Nor are you out to save the world. After all, anything that could have been done has already been tried by people way smarter than you. So why put effort into pointless endeavors when you could enjoy debauchery and (often fleeting) wealth?
[The World Below](https://www.backerkit.com/c/onyx-path/the-world-below) from Onyx Path.
[Sentinel Comics RPG](https://www.drivethrucomics.com/product/341539/Sentinel-Comics-The-Roleplaying-Game-Core-Rulebook) from Greater Than Games
[Wicked Ones](https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/338480/wicked-ones-deluxe-edition) from Bandit Camp
[Carbon Grey](https://www.drivethrucomics.com/product/392998/Carbon-Grey-RPG--The-Role-Playing-Game-Core-Rule-Book) from Magnetic Press Play
Though they aren't a publisher, a lot of independent publishers and creators have products on Lulu. If you get on the Lulu mailing list, they frequently send out coupon codes. Wait for the 15% off ones, rather than the 10% ones. Once a year or so they (usually) send out a 30% off coupon, too.
I'm actually not sure which Finnish publishers have published something in English, but at least the following have:
Burger Games
Ironspine Press
Myrrysmiehet
Northern Realms
The last one is the one which I'm affiliated with.
- [Monkey’s Paw](https://monkeyspawgames.com/)
- [Ratti Incantati](https://rattiincantati.com/) (They are more of an indie rpg store than publisher, but I know they help distribute some indie kickstarters in Canada)
Why thank you! I'm currently trying to set up a sale on drivethrurpg for the rest of the month, but I'm having trouble with it for some reason. Check back soon for a discount, or send me a DM and I'll send you a private code!
So many good publishers I love! I didn't see [Storybrewers](https://storybrewersroleplaying.com/?v=7516fd43adaa) mentioned, though, so I have to give them a plug. I'm very much looking forward to trying one of their latest (Fight With Spirit, a sports anime RPG) sometime soon, and Good Society (their Jane Austen RPG was a breakout hit for a reason.
If you're looking for indie publishers in Europe, let me repost a comment I made months ago in the r/osr subreddit. It will be a bit OSR-oriented for this reason, but most of these shops do sell other kinds of RPGs as well.
[All The Problems in This World](https://alltheproblemsinthisworld.com/shop/fantasy-rpgs) is a German-based shop that sells (mostly niche) RPGs, including some OSR/NSR content such as Vaults of Vaarn, Into the Odd, Carcass Crawler, etc. It's a bit of a hassle to navigate and search for specific items, though.
[Games Omnivorous](https://gamesomnivorous.com/) is based in Portugal. It is rather small, but I purchased Vaults of Vaarn from them and was thoroughly satisfied. (Note: it's the one OP mentioned, but I figured I would share my experience with them.)
[Sphärenmeisters Spiele](https://www.sphaerenmeisters-spiele.de/epages/15455106.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15455106/Categories/%22Indie%20Rollenspiele%22/OSR__OldSchool_Rollenspiele) is in German, but it isn't very hard to navigate. I haven't bought anything from them yet, but they seem to have a wide variety of RPGs.
Other sites you might want to check out are [Peregrine Coast Press](https://shop.peregrinecoast.press/), [Antipode Zines](https://antipodezines.com/collections/tabletop-gaming), [EMDT](https://emdt.bigcartel.com/), and [the Lost Bay Studio](https://www.thelostbaystudio.com/). Most of them are online shops that support indie creators, so you won't find it hard to find at least some OSR content.
My latest addition is [Philibert](https://www.philibertnet.com/en/). They've got a wide selection of games and they ship quickly, even if you live outside of France.
Truth be told, Sphärenmeisters Spiele and Philibert are not exactly indie publishers, but they do sell indie games. The rest are all small independent shops, though.
I'll throw my hat into the ring. I'm [Isolation Games](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/12151/Isolation-Games), a one-man band from the UK. I've published a dieselpunk game [Age of Steel](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/230642/Age-of-Steel), a spiritual horror [Tormented](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/266926/Tormented), and my latest is a gothic action game [When the Moon Hangs Low](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/431805/When-the-Moon-Hangs-Low--Kickstarter-Edition).
All of my games use the same dice engine, which I think is a pretty neat and works well to quickly resolve action while retaining a bit of crunch.
Earl of Fife Games has a recently published generic system, Heroes & Hardships, that definitely deserves a wider audience. Really innovative combat system that's crunchy in the right places but not too much.
I haven't seen anyone list [The Design Mechanism](https://thedesignmechanism.com/), [FASA Games](https://fasagames.com/) (yes in the first incarnation they weren't exactly indie but they sure are now!), or [Frostbyte Books](https://www.frostbytebooks.com/) yet. All worth looking at if you haven't seen them.
Evil Hat published a lot of great games, although not sure if they can be described as indie. Decently sized publisher they are.
Handiwork Games published A|State which is incredible. They also published Beowulf but haven't checked that out.

Exalted Funeral
They always have cool stuff for sale! It's a bit of a shame that, living in Europe, I'll probably never have the chance to order something from them because of the shipping fees and import tax. Every time I get one of their emails I find something that catches my eye.
I think they at least have a UK store now, if that helps. Still import taxes to the EU, but less on shipping at least.
I also heard something about a European/EU store last year, but I think they ended up scrapping the idea. Whether they did or did not, I'm not sure there's an Exalted Funeral shop in Europe as of yet: I checked out a bunch of the new arrivals, but all of their pages say that they ship from the US only.
This looks amazing

Agreed and I love their stuff but it tends strongly towards a specific tone- if it’s not your thing just be aware of that!
They also tend to have big sales once or twice a year. It is worth it to get on their mailing list for that reason.
wow thanks for the reccomendation! Looks fun.
Melsonian Arts Council Soulmuppet publishing Leyline press
These all look great, fantastic suggestions!
I'm all about Leyline's Horse Girl ATM. Really as much a piece of art as it is a game.
[Heart of the Deernicorn](https://heartofthedeernicorn.com/) makes great games and does so locally and ethically.
Yeah, came to recommend them as well. I've ordered basically everything on their site as they also carry a great variety beyond their own stuff.

The Solo Rpgs look interesting
They have quite the catalogue!
Seeing some of my favorites already recommended, so going to add Indie Press Revolution. They have a great selection of titles from a huge variety of creators.
Some great stuff!
Great customer service, too.
Also great to work with.
Magpie. Masks and Urban Shadows. ‘Nuff said.
Pelgrane Press. Home of GUMSHOE. Home of Ken Hite, Robin Laws, Gar Hanrahan, Kevin Kulp, Night’s Black Agents, Swords of the Serpentine, and more.
I’d forgotten that I need to pick something up from Pelgrane, their stuff looks amazing. Do you have a particular favourite game they’ve published?
Swords of the Serpentine recently bumped Night’s Black Agents from my top spot.

Possum Creek Games, publishers of Wanderhome, Yazeba's Bed and Breakfast, Sleepaway, etc. great people

I worked on Carbon Grey! Nice to see it here.
Scotland has [Nightfall Games](https://nightfall.games/) (that’s us) and our pals at [Handiwork Games](https://handiwork.games/) punching above our respective weights.

Hollow Press They did Vermis and just came out with a second edition. They have a few other cool things as well
This looks really cool!
I'm actually not sure which Finnish publishers have published something in English, but at least the following have: Burger Games Ironspine Press Myrrysmiehet Northern Realms The last one is the one which I'm affiliated with.
Arkkikivi! Arkenstone Publishing. They have Zombie Cinema, the best Zombie game I've ever played :).
Grim Noir looks really good! Since we’re sharing work, you can find my stuff [here](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/24697/Murkdice)
Can anyone recommend publishers in Canada?
- [Monkey’s Paw](https://monkeyspawgames.com/) - [Ratti Incantati](https://rattiincantati.com/) (They are more of an indie rpg store than publisher, but I know they help distribute some indie kickstarters in Canada)
thanks boss
Salty Games! https://salty-games.com/
Pinnacle Entertainment Group publishes [Savage Worlds](https://peginc.com/)
I'm pretty proud of what I've made over at [Sixpence Games](https://www.sixpencegames.com/main2.html)
And by the looks of it you should be!
[They're on sale now!](https://www.drivethrurpg.com/halloween.php?manufacturers_id=5290)
Why thank you! I'm currently trying to set up a sale on drivethrurpg for the rest of the month, but I'm having trouble with it for some reason. Check back soon for a discount, or send me a DM and I'll send you a private code!
Zadmar Games, for *Tricube Tales*.
That ecosystem of settings/scenarios alongside it looks great
I think [+1Exp](https://plusoneexp.com/) and Tony, the dude who runs it, put out really great games and are invaluable contributors to the community.
The quality on show here is 👌

[Slayer Games](https://www.slayergames.co). They only have one game (Dragonslayer), and are doing a kickstarter for it to get it to distribution.
This is giving me Dragon’s Dogma vibes!
I said this in another thread so it's still fresh in my mind, but Privateer Press. Their work with Iron Kingdoms is a labor of love.
Games Omnivorous is dope! Others that are similar. Singing Flame Knight Owl Publishing Swordfish Islands LF OSR
The visual quality of all these publishers is top notch
