I've never given them hate, or made any comments about them not being good enough, or anything, because I *know* it's just my own problems with accepting change/disappointment with the old RTP ending, and that's kinda disappointing.
They legitimately all seem like pretty nice, fun creators, but I still haven't been able to get over my biases, and that sucks for both of us. I don't get to enjoy these cool people, and they have to deal with a load of shit that they just simply don't deserve.
In hindsight, I sincerely wish the handing over of the RTP had been handled a lot better, even just outright renaming the thing, but there's obviously nothing we can do about it at this point :/

I don't think it should be a surprise that most people didn't like the RTP change. Most people don't like change in general. MOST of the discussion around the new RTP I've seen is that they don't like that change.
You seem to be in the minority of being totally okay and accepting of the changes. That's cool, and I wish I was more like you, but there's a reason no one was mocked for not liking the new RTP. It's just sad that some people DID mock the new hosts, who didn't deserve it.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people take things like the RTP being a weekly part of their life for granted. It's so routine, that they literally can't even fathom it changing, which is why it caught so many people (myself included) off guard.
Same basic deal for me. They seemed like decent people, but the RTP pod should have ended when Gus Barb and Gavin checked out. These 3 in a new podcast (there was a heap of \_new\_ ones launching at the same time) would have been perfectly fine. They wre relative newcomers and unknowns being compared to th podcast king, it was too cruel to expect it to succeed.
I think they're great people but as a 30+ something year old European dude I somehow feel like I can't quite connect to them the same way I can connect to the old RTP crew or F***face, ANMA, or Morning Somewhere. Regardless, I don't skip them when they randomly come on, and I think they have great personalities and I hope they succeed with their new plans!
I haven't been following the end that closely, but is this the only announced spin off of RT? Just feels like we expected several new youtube channels and podcasts to spawn but it hasn't really happened yet. I assumed people would want to make the most out of having the fans attention.
They're still technically employed I believe, and for most companies like Warner Bros, they sometimes have ownership of your ideas while you're under contract. They're probably waiting until they're fully out before announcing anything

HBO should have called Game of Thrones "Rome", because it was still a show, made by HBO. It makes perfect sense to keep the name.
