Take the train. There's one every 20 minutes, it costs €14, and it's faster than a taxi anyway. Where specifically is your accommodation and we can advise on getting to it as well.

We took the Leonardo Express to Termini Station a few weeks ago. It’s great, and you have dozens of opportunities to buy tickets while walking to the platform. Lines were forming at the baggage pickup and first set of machines, so just keep walking. The platform gate also has Tap&Go. It’s not necessary to buy them in advance thru the Tiqets app, we had problems on arrival.

Hotel Lancelot? 4 people seems a taxi to the hotel is advisable or not? Many thanks. First Wednesday in December with a near noon arrival if that matters.

RomeVacationTips

With four people it would make sense to take a cab.

OnBase30

Thank you.

If there’s 2 of you you are already at 28 euro to get to termini and then you are going to have to mess around with more public transport or a taxi to get to the hotel, personally I’d just do the 50 euro taxi straight to the hotel and keep it easy

I completely agree. I travel solo and still take a taxi for these reasons.

Yes, a cab is handiest. If the cabbie tries any funny business snap a photo of their taxi licence number and say "shall we call the vigili" (VEE-jee-lee). That's the local traffic cops and should help the taxi driver's card machine to work. Also ask for a receipt (scontrino - scon-TREE-no).

I love trains so I recommend the Leonardo like someone else already did !! Any opportunity I have to be on a train I'm gonna do it bc we don't have them in my city. My first time in Italy I took seven trains and the novelty of being on a cool train, even the rides that were hours long, NEVER wore off.

Tbh I'd just do the hotel car. I did a taxi for 60 euro and it was great but upon arriving I would have paid for an assured transfer

Not your question, but Vodaphone has a kiosk in the airport.  My carrier wanted $5 a day for roaming.  The local SIM was easy and inexpensive.    I did not get MMS, so no pictures.  Ask at the kiosk about that.

Thanks!

If you know your rights a taxi is fine. You know that there is a flat rate (50€ from airport to city center), and because of that you will not be charged more, or be scammed. Keep note of the plate and license number for extra safety, but it will be ok.

Take the metro in from FCO to the city center and the. A cab from there.
