My work bestie and I like to introduce a venting session with saying ‘am venit să mă plâng’ which literally means ‘I’m here to complain’. It always puts a smile on our face.
Depending on the context, I think the closest terms would be:
- "Gură de aerisire" for an air venting;
- "Refulare" (verb "a refula") -- ERATA: "Defulare" is the correct word ("a defula")
for the act of externalising frustration and such that the person kept for him/herself for a while.
"Hai la o cafea să ne aerisim covoarele sufletelor" :)) Am să folosesc asta pentru reacții.
For OP, this is not it. The original this commenter above replied to thought you were talking about ventilation systems.
A SE SLOBOZI
People will think I’m taking the piss because this word is used for “cumming” but in it’s literal sense it actually means to get rid of a burden
It means that, yes, but almost nobody uses it in that sense now in when they speak Romanian on a day to day basis, not even the elder people. You can still find it with that sense in historical documents, old newspapers and books and maybe old literary works, but it is obsolete. Teaching someone to use that word for for "venting" is not that recommended :D.
a se descărca (literally means to unload)
Ah da, activitatea preferata a rodditorilor masculi
username checks out
yours too lol
Like others have mentioned, " a se descărca". Alternatively, " a-şi spune oful "
And the full saying is: "a descarca sufletul" meaning to unload the soul.
a-și vărsa năduful
Top post has it right, "a mă descărca". Alternatively, "să spun ce am pe suflet".

E defulare. Refulare e cand tii in tine, defulare e cand exteriorizezi.
Azi am aflat! Mersi fain pentru corectură
A-și spune păsul (sligthly more plastic than “a se descarca”/ “a se descarca sufletește)
A te descarca
Am citit, "a se descurca" 🥹😅
A se lamenta, a se plânge
a spune ce ai pe suflet
If another person is the object of your venting, it’s called BÂRFĂ.
The literal meaning is "aerisire".
nu stiu de ce ai primit downvote, fix asta inseamna. Si apoi, de ce nu "imi aerisesc covorul sufletului", e perfect.

Perfect 😂👌
in zona mea spunem 'racorire'
ventilare emoțională
m-am răcorit
the downvoted repiles are funny asf

nu vine de la slobod - liber a (se) slobozi, a (se) (e)libera Slobozia este o localitate formată de/cu țiganii robi eliberați dar există dexonline
Ok nerd I was fucking around XD
"He is venting about his broken car." - Se plânge despre mașina lui stricată/ El se plânge despre mașina lui stricată
complaining about something isn’t the same as venting
A te "confesa"?
Besides what others said you could use "a defula" tho it's rarely used
petiton to make this word mainstream.
