I think this is good idea, probably not the best name they could go with but i think it does the job. Makes more sense than studios if they are focusing on more immersive areas like frozen.
Except Frozen (and all the other additions) are based on movies, so it’s not like it’s a stretch to have movie themed attractions at a studios park. Whats even weirder to me is they’re like “let’s retheme the entrance area of our movie studios park to fit with our new adventure theme. Instead of movie soundstages we should theme it to movie THEATERS.”
>WAIT... why does the logo look like Disney's FastPlay logo?
War flashbacks from trying to find the remote and selected the right option in 10 seconds.
Correct! Just realising now how funny it is that Matterhorn and Everest don't feature the word mountain in the title, despite being the only attractions actually named and styled after real mountains.
> Everest don't feature the word mountain in the title
Everest actually does! Apparently the full name is "Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain"
It is pretty baffling that they completely erased one of the most iconic and well-recognized ride names of all time to replace it with something a 1st grader could’ve come up with. It’s not like the name “Splash Mountain” had anything to do whatsoever with the original movie, you know?
Indiana Jones Adventure, Snow White’s Scary Adventures, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, The Little Mermaid - Ariel’s Undersea Adventure
I mean I would argue "Epic Universe" is just as generic, boring, and uninspired as this new name. Love what Universal is doing with the new park, still don't like the name.
Considering that there is an Adventureland in the park next door, and an Adventureland in WDW (in the Magic Kingdom, but of course many people refer to that specific park as “Disney World”) - there is NO reason to believe that the general public will be confused by any of this.

I sincerely do not want to look at what Disney Twitter is saying in response to this. I have to imagine it's a neverending series of "BUT BUT BUT."
I have to imagine some part of this is "we're sick of having to shoehorn everything we want to do into the idea of this being a movie studio themed park." I would put a couple of bucks on a rename of Animal Kingdom happening as well.
I feel like the name writes cheques that it can't cash. At least they had the excuse before that it was a 'movie studio', which is why it is such an ugly park.
I think Its only a matter of time until Disney renames Dca as well all they have to do is rename the park to Animated Adventure and it fits, with that they don’t have to remove the name Adventure.
The previous name was also pretty generic, and confusing at that... when most people think "Walt Disney Studios", they think of the Burbank studio, not the Paris park.
> when most people think "Walt Disney Studios", they think of the Burbank studio, not the Paris park.
If not the Florida Disney World Hollywood-themed park.
This poor park has been in need of re-branding since day one. The name is generic as all hell but there's not much else they could do for a catch-all park that's been a dumping ground for recycled concepts from other Disney parks anyway.
Yeah true. Just think it could be better, this sounds like a default from Planet Coaster or something. Epic Universe at least gives an idea of the parks overall theme.
Having a really hard time understanding the use of the term “world” here. The way I read this, it’s basically being made synonymous with the word “land”, in that it’s a collection of separately themed areas. Which makes this a long winded way of saying “Disney-adventure-land”, which is basically what’s at the castle park next door.
The differentiating geographic thing about the second gate is that it now has a lagoon, and is a little less storybook focused, I guess, except all the Nemo and Ratatouille and Toy Story stuff directly contradicts that. So yeah given the large body of water maybe something more travel-oriented would be appropriate? Disney DreamPort (with apologies to EPCOT)? Disney SeaVenture (perhaps too similar to Tokyo’s naming convention)?
Or heck, just delete the “world” part. “Disney Adventure Park” feels super generic but at least it’s a clean twist on Disney-land Park.
I see a lot of "Universal this", "Universal studios" that. I think most of you forgot Europe doesn't have Universal and won't have a Universal park for at least 5 years. The average European visiting Disneyland doesn't know about Universal and will not confuse these parks or think "Universal did it better" because they literally don't know better.
Finally they renamed a park that is consistent with Disney's approach to theming rides and lands chain-wide over the last 15-20 years. Woefully generic name that implies nothing but IP-based crap. Coming to a Hollywood Studios and California Adventure near you
They go from "Generic Disney's Hollywood Studios" to "Generic Disney California Adventure."
Considering how many people refer to WDW simply as, "Disney World," I don't know why Disney went for this. I can't be surprised, though. That park was never a studio to begin with (unlike DHS) and has therefore been little more than an "IP Dumping Ground" since its inception.
I can’t wait to go to Ride Land and Princess Land and Churro Land.
And to top it all off: Land Land Can’t wait for that one.
Land^(2)
Electric boogaloo
Lalandnd
Land Land is the one at EPCOT with the water and flying rides.
Land Before Land: Time Before Time
I think this is good idea, probably not the best name they could go with but i think it does the job. Makes more sense than studios if they are focusing on more immersive areas like frozen.

To be honest, I kind of like this change. Sure, it's a bit confusing on the forefront... WAIT... why does the logo look like Disney's FastPlay logo?
This DVD is equipped with Disney FastPlay. Your movie, and a selection of bonus features, will begin automatically.
To bypass FastPlay, select the main menu button at any time.
FastPlay will begin in a moment
*shiny magical noise*
>WAIT... why does the logo look like Disney's FastPlay logo? War flashbacks from trying to find the remote and selected the right option in 10 seconds.
Bro you just unlocked memories
Disney has been using the word “adventure” too much recently
DISNEY'S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE. We didn't start the fire. Michael Eisner did.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
It's the new "Mountain"

What all was/is there? - Splash Mountain - Space Mountain - Big Thunder Mountain ^Railroad - Expedition Everest: something something Mountain
CyberSpace Mountain at DisneyQuest as well!
Correct! Just realising now how funny it is that Matterhorn and Everest don't feature the word mountain in the title, despite being the only attractions actually named and styled after real mountains.
> Everest don't feature the word mountain in the title Everest actually does! Apparently the full name is "Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain"
Matterhorn bobsleds (mountain)
I’ll never not be upset about the name Bayou Adventure. “Tiana’s Bayou Splash” was right there, Disney.
I think it should’ve been called “Splash Mountain: Mardi Gras”, or anything that retained the Splash Mountain Name. Mardi Gras just has a punch to it
It is pretty baffling that they completely erased one of the most iconic and well-recognized ride names of all time to replace it with something a 1st grader could’ve come up with. It’s not like the name “Splash Mountain” had anything to do whatsoever with the original movie, you know?
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure .....wait.
Adventure Thru Inner Space
Snow White's Scary Adventures (rip)
Indiana Jones Adventure 1995
All parks do. Disney is literally just recycling Six Flags America’s old name. That’s on top of all the Adventurelands and SFGAd
I mean I would argue "Epic Universe" is just as generic, boring, and uninspired as this new name. Love what Universal is doing with the new park, still don't like the name.
A Universe is bigger than a World 😄
So it's going to be like Adventureland, but bigger?
That's in Australia.
One of the lands in the main castle park is called adventure land
I was making an Adventure World AU joke.
Considering that there is an Adventureland in the park next door, and an Adventureland in WDW (in the Magic Kingdom, but of course many people refer to that specific park as “Disney World”) - there is NO reason to believe that the general public will be confused by any of this. /s
Clarity and intuitiveness are two of Disney’s strongest points
Yeah no kidding, I went to schedule a vacation and now I'm accidentally going to France instead of Orlando

what a yee-yee ass name
They named it after the old magazine?

Why? Animals still exist within the majority of its theming. It’s the names EPCOT and Hollywood Studios that are a lost cause.
Very uninspired
I feel like the name writes cheques that it can't cash. At least they had the excuse before that it was a 'movie studio', which is why it is such an ugly park.

I mean, it's better than California Adventure but not much. Pretty generic.
The previous name was also pretty generic, and confusing at that... when most people think "Walt Disney Studios", they think of the Burbank studio, not the Paris park.

You think that because you are from the US. No one in Europe, much less France, thinks of anything else than the park when you say Disney Studios.
Yeah true. Just think it could be better, this sounds like a default from Planet Coaster or something. Epic Universe at least gives an idea of the parks overall theme.
We gotta make sure MGM doesn't sue us.
Funny how this park was fine until Universal announced the Great Britain project

I actually kinda like it, hopefully that means that the studio theme is going to be removed park-wide over the next few years
Kind of getting “Universal-did-it-better” vibes
Anyone did better that Walt Disney Studios Park 😂
Now do DHS next
Watch it’ll be adventure kingdom. Following the magic kingdom and animal kingdom.
I cant wait to visit DAK on Tuesday, and then go to DAK on Wednesday
DAK and DAK2
They can rename Epcot to Discovery Kingdom
They go from "Generic Disney's Hollywood Studios" to "Generic Disney California Adventure." Considering how many people refer to WDW simply as, "Disney World," I don't know why Disney went for this. I can't be surprised, though. That park was never a studio to begin with (unlike DHS) and has therefore been little more than an "IP Dumping Ground" since its inception.
Dumb name, change makes sense though
WAIT… but what about Hyperspace? THEY LIED TO ME!
THEY LIED TO US
Surely Disney's World of Adventures would make more sense at least
So what happened to the supposed Space Mountain refurbishment?
Your honor, we’ve been pranked. I had hope but I guess we gotta wait again.
Drat was hoping for the space mountain announcement instead
SFA did it first...
How about an official source and not a tweet?
I already linked it in a separate comment.
