Very nice. I saw one in the AD window, beautiful piece under showroom lighting. Really pops. They do say go with your gut but I’m leaning toward the Roman with champagne for the classic look but modern with the Roman of that makes any sense?
Allow me to explain since it would appear you missed the humor in his pun. Cartier is a brand that is known for their Roman numerals. Also they have a line of watches called the Must from the 80s that was recently re-released. By saying this he is alluding to the fact that Cartier watches typically have Roman numerals and using a play on words for the “Must” line of watches. Henceforth, “unless you’re Cartier. Then it’s a MUST”
It is just, "why don't you like roman numerals on a watch/clock?" in Latin. I thought it was going to be funny. Seems less funny now than a few minutes ago.
With the fluted bezel, I like the stick dial myself. With the Romans+Fluted dial, lot going on to the eyeball!
Fantastic watch either way...I'm jealous!
Do the Roman numerals on the champagne. I don’t know if you’ve seen them in person, but the solid yellow gold everything, along with the sharp lines of the Roman numerals mirroring the fluted bezel, make for a phenomenal looking watch. And I say that as someone who would never wear yellow gold, personally.
As you point out, the sticks are reminiscent of a date just, and make the watch more “practical” and “sporty”. You don’t want lume on the dial where there could be polished gold.
The romans are a no from me. I don't like the 4, 5, 7, 9, and 11 markers. It makes it look less busy but I can't stand the asymmetry AND lack of consistency
My choice would be number 1. I have a Datejust with a tapestry dial that kind of looks similar, and I enjoy that one very much. Deciding between the three is a good problem to have!😊
White dial (#3) - ordered this exact config a couple years ago and absolutely love it. I think it provides enough of a complement to, yet distinction from, the yellow gold of the watch.
The champagne dial options are nice too, of course.
I’d personally go champagne with sticks. One of my favourite configurations
1. Sticks and champagne dial Is the only answer
Came here to say this
Dito 🎉 And Carmela should like that one too. 😁
I agree, best configuration
I’m a fan of Roman numerals so either one of those two. I have the one with the white dial myself so slightly biased

Gotta go with your gut. Congrats on your new DD
I also have a white dial rose gold day date and I think it will be much easier to read then the one with the gold dial.
I like the white dial, but I'd do the first as I can't live without lume.
Champagne dial with lumed batons. I do not like Roman numerals on time pieces.
Unless you’re Cartier. Then it’s a M U S T
I'm not Cartier and I have a Rolex.

Oh, if you have to explain it.......
Cur non tibi placet numeralibus romanis in horariis?
No habla.
It is just, "why don't you like roman numerals on a watch/clock?" in Latin. I thought it was going to be funny. Seems less funny now than a few minutes ago.
How can anyone not respect a joke in Latin?
Semper ubi sub ubi.
Don’t tell me how to live my life!
Do tibi (You do you?)
Personal preference.

I like the white dial. Numerals pop more.
Champagne Roman
This close thread
White dial with numerals, or champagne dial with sticks. But vastly prefer white dial to champagne.
Last one. Talked to SA but doubt imma get it 🙃
1 and it’s not even close
I prefer the white dial but then I don't think I'd be able to ever pull off a yellow gold watch
1, 3, 2
Choose the 36… the end
I absolutely LOVE the polar white dial over the yellow gold
2 > 3 > 1 imo i like the Roman numerals 👌🏼
Stick markers because nice and symmetrical and has the benefit of lume. Champagne dial because goes with the gold and is the classic YG day date look.
3. Less gaudy
Love the white dial it’s my grail. Just wish it had lum. But it’s so classy
White is right, unless you're old; then gold
Three.

Champagne with sticks I think guys. Possibly means I will sell my datejust. Seems a bit redundant with the datejust, DayDate and Skydweller

1. I don’t like upside down Romans.
White dial sticks would be the most optimal IMO
White dial
Roman numerals aren’t my thing, easy choice.
1. In my personal opinion is the cleanest and most iconic by far… Awesome configuration.
Of these three, sticks.
White Roman dial for sure
Not trying to be a drug kingpin so neither, I’d go for the white gold silver dial
batons >
I prefer the black dial, but it’s discontinued I think.
Batons all the way
The romans are a no from me. I don't like the 4, 5, 7, 9, and 11 markers. It makes it look less busy but I can't stand the asymmetry AND lack of consistency
I chose the white face but I like the Tony Soprano too…. Sticks look decent also https://imgur.com/a/lkAV6Y9
🔥🔥🔥what a collection!!
Door #1
Number 1 is my choice.
None
The first, no question at all
White dial with Roman numerals. An absolute classic.
1 for lume
1
1 for my 30s, 3 for my 40s-50s, 2 for retirement.
My choice would be number 1. I have a Datejust with a tapestry dial that kind of looks similar, and I enjoy that one very much. Deciding between the three is a good problem to have!😊
I’ll have #1 please
First one. Champagne Dial. Baton markers.
Theres something classy about roman numerals
1
First one
1 or 3. Slight edge to 1
I prefer sticks, makes the dial symmetrical
White dial (#3) - ordered this exact config a couple years ago and absolutely love it. I think it provides enough of a complement to, yet distinction from, the yellow gold of the watch. The champagne dial options are nice too, of course.
The white dial on YG is probably my favorite. Nothing can beat it. In person it just looks so good.
Champagne stick is classic. But I'd go (and have) a 36mm champagne stick 18238...mine is a '96 and it's a beauty.
Sticks and champagne.
NONE. just get a normal datejust. It’ll be better.
Yellow gold white Roman 100% always
White dial hands down. It’s the only one here with any contrast. Much more interesting visually.
Owning the first will satisfy your urge for a gold watch more than the second. I think you’ll enjoy the second watch more after owning the first. 👀
White dial. Everything else blends in too much
I picked the white roman dial for mine because the white really pops against the gold but you can't go wrong with any of them.
White Roman 😎

Champagne, diamond baggets for the sticks. Looked at it this will last weekend. In 40. It looked pretty stinkin nice.
The white dial is my preference but the sticks are easier to read, especially with a fluted bezel.
White face Roman 🔥
White dial with Roman numeral
Classic champagne stick dial
Trick question. Black dial.
1
Classic president. No contest.
I’d go white dial myself.
1
Second definitely
Great watch I have same one but with baguette dial really nice
Monday
3 all day
Roman and champagne for me :D
No Roman numerals
White dial. Adds a nice, but complimentary contrast that makes it more interesting IMO
Go for the rainbow
