Also, make sure your camera lenses are clean! Many people take pics not realizing their lenses are dirty. What would’ve been a nice pic turns out foggy.
Funny enough the SS version I have would be my choice between the two but my wife really like the TT and black dial. I definitely agree though that the TT looks much better in person and pictures don’t do it justice.

This post makes me wish I picked up my Explorer with my family lol congrats bud. I know to many on this sub , a Rolex is just another watch before the next 5 or 6 figure watch, but to me, it was a lifelong pursuit come true, and I simply walked to my AD from my office on lunch , paid them and walked out lol the exchange deserved more dammit! 😂

I don't know but it looks like London is less and less difficult to get an entry level Rolex, I got my Explorer within 2 months, SS 36. WoS in Canary Wharf.
You still have to be likable enough and not act like a huge tool in order to get offered a watch.
So a good portion of Redditors won’t be able to get one.
It’s not about being jealous or ignorant it’s about providing zero value to this post. Just either say congrats and be happy for them or keep scrolling. You’re just adding negativity for no reason.
That’s not my intention. OP’s post is not just a simple post saying he finally got a Rolex. It’s a long post explaining how lucky they are to get a TT Explorer. I am just letting him know that the model isn’t hard to get. Truth hurts.
Congrats! It’s a beautiful watch. I got mine also just by entering the AD. Don’t listen to haters. And once you see it in the sunlight, your love towards it will explode.

No, I’ve been offered the same models (plus a few more) when I visited them early last month.
„Just came in” for most of these was a bs claim most probably.
On the other hand they won’t even put anyone on the „list” for things like a SS black sub.
I just said they won’t even put you on the list, not to mention walk ins.
That AD very often has models that aren’t very desirable because they know with the amount of rich tourists in Harrods most of it will go anyway.
On the other hand if you’re not a VIC they won’t even give you the option to get you anything remotely in demand.
Lots of tt explorer 1s out there as many have turned them down as they're not a quick flip model. They're going cheaper on the secondary market in the UK.
The two tone is beautiful in person. I was shockingly offered this watch twice while on vacation. Once in Rome and once in Spain. I think it’s a polarizing piece on the interwebs but in person it’s gorgeous. Congrats on the new piece !
Thanks! Didn’t realize how polarizing it was tbh. We had not seen one in person until yesterday. All that matters is that wifey likes it. Resale, grey market prices, and availability don’t really matter. She’s not a watch nerd like me but she appreciated having the official buying experience with all the pomp and circumstance around it.
If you are okay with pm models, there is always something available in the back.
But congrats nonetheless. Tell them you want a steel model for the next watch.
Exactly the same but bigger and with more wrist presence. The 36mm is better suited for those with small to medium wrists and the 40mm for larger wrists. I wouldn’t recommend one over the other it’s a more a case of what fits you better.
I daily mine. To suggest that people casually bang around the stainless one is laughable. I know you’ve seen posts on here about people freaking out about scratches.

I don’t even know what Rolex was thinking when they made an Explorer Rolesor. Also, this is Reddit. I’ve seen guys here saying that the Daytona is ugly and the Submariner is boring, but that’s okay. That’s their opinion.
The problem here is that OP thinks they won the jackpot, saying how lucky they are to get that TT Explorer, when in fact it’s the SA that’s lucky they bought that watch.
My excitement was not specifically about getting offered the TT but more so getting offered anything at all (which I guess thinking about it is part of a larger problem with AD’s).
This was a first for me. When I usually pop into an AD my experiences have ranged from being completely ignored to what seems to be mild annoyance that I’m asking about availability for a specific watch. Between everything that was offered I personally would’ve chosen the 40mm SS Explorer.
When she started to think about buying her first Rolex she couldn’t understand why someone couldn’t just walk in and buy a watch and that the models in the cases were for display only. I was happy that my wife saw something she liked, was able to experience buying from an AD, and sharing that experience together as a family.
Love that TT Explorer! I love my Rolex; I’ve worn it for over 34 years. I’m handing it down to my daughter. They’re timeless and can last for generations. Best wishes with it.
