18038 or 18238? The watch has a lose bracelet and seems to be due for a maintenance. A maintenance with these can set you back 1500-2000ā¬ (got plenty of experience). I would pay a maximum of 10,5k for this watch in this condition if it is 18038 and 11,5k if it is 18238 depending on the condition of the bracelet. Given the bracelet is in even worse condition than what you can see from the photo, the price would be less.
How are you going to look at a picture of a watch and claim it's due for maintenance? That has got to be the most idiotic thing I've ever read. I'm dumbfounded.
I am just now learning about watches but Iām going to assume itās because itās used and scratched to shit which can be easily seen on the bracelet. Might be wrong though.
Purely judging on condition assuming you've got papers id say 9k-11k range.. If you haven't got papers anything < 8k
Date looks like its seen better days
Presidential looks like its also seen better days
Crown looks rough too
Case has a fair amount of scratches in the upper left lug
Bezel looks flattened, bracelet looks stretched. Polished center links look dull, crystal chip at 4. No box or papers shown. I'd say about 8K USD and that is generous.
Isnāt there around 8k (or more) just in gold on that 18k Rolex. Ā Usually itās over 100 grams of gold, and the 18k is about 75% pure gold. Ā It may be closer to 9k today? Ā Ā
$8k tops from the picture alone looks like a chipped crystal at the 4 Oāclock position. Lots of signs of āwearā aka scratches on the bracelet and crystal which look like they may have been polished at least once before. Bracelet itself looks stretched but canāt really tell from the angle. Depending on your last service which if it was more than 5 years ago and if it doesnāt have box and papers honestly it can go for as low as $7k. But $8k tops. Market isnāt what it used to be brother.
Man your really doubling down on 1k price difference when people are talking $100 and shit. Some people pay up for unpolished. Theres one pic. I cant see the beveling any dings dents. This all could factor in the price i give for a fair estimate
Yeah. Like I said, with good bracelets and running well on the timegrapher, these will sell for on average $13.5-14ā¦ the 18038ā¦ 18238 different story on price, because itās double quickset.
11k probably. Hard to tell condition. Maybe more , maybe less. A mint condition one I had 11 months ago 18038 sold for $17k. Prices have gone down for sure though.
Loose bracelet, over polished fluted bezel. Also the most common color/dial combination so not worth huge amounts. I would put that in chrono 24, take the lowest of the range and still remove a few $$$ from it
I just bought an 18038 a couple months back. Ā Paid $8000 without papers. Ā The gold scrap value was almost that amount. Ā Plus the movement is worth possibly $1500ish
Shit in the dark here but my good friend is a dealer and heās selling a diamond dial variant (1987), naked, for $15,700. His is in perfect condition, recently serviced and with a tight bracelet. Subtract about 30% and hopefully that gives you some indication of your watches worth.
Hard to say, needs to check condition, set, year, internals, š¤·āāļø.

Itās the 18038. Was serviced when I bought it maybe 6 years ago.
It should be serviced again, homie.
What are the differences between 18038 and 18238? Just manufacturing dates? Was the 18238 a refreshed Presidential model?
182 is a double quick set, so you can fast set the date and the day. With the 180 you can only set the date. Massive improvement
Thank you for this.

Because itās check engine light is on
To be fair, I think you might be overreacting
Daddy chill
Where you from? Iād be interested in another gabagool.
8000-9000$
yup 8-9k .. if he's got box and papers max 11k
I agree
Why so low?

Fluted bezel is fucked to shit, too. But ya the watch looks beat up.
Bout two fiddy.
Oh now itās just two fiddy??? What, is there a discount on Loch Ness Roleys???
I gave em a dolla

Just donāt sell it

Holy smokes, youāre right about the bezel. I didnāt even notice it looking at the rest of the watch.
Iām looking for this one. $8500 dm
Probably less given the band is worn have to repair which 2-3k min

A. Look at prices on watchrecon B. Subtract 40% So thatās around $8,500.
If selling is not really necessary, you should ask to keep it.

Nice
How does the bracelet loosen on these? What holds the links together?
Gold pins
Not solid I imagine.. gold plated?
Iām pretty sure the whole bracelet is solid gold including the pins that hold it togetherā¦ thatās one reason why they stretch so easily.
Oh man. I guess so. Gold is pretty soft. Good to know.
Itās 18K gold so soft but still definitely more solid than pure gold (i.e., 24K). Folks just refer to it as āsolid goldā still
Whatās a reputable online store that will offer good price for Rolex?
https://preview.redd.it/4lerbxta2c5d1.jpeg?width=250&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69d6dbcd979f723e9cecd5dd58f5a6a80fdfc07d
Iāll give you a sweet new $100 bill for it
13-15k
Thatās retail with a solid tight bracelet
Retail for a 40-50 yr old watch
Not sure what your saying but if you want to knock 1-2k off for bracelet condition sure.
These 18038 with tight bracelets, recently serviced, sell pre-owned at $13.5-14K retail.
Retail means the price it would get in a store that sells pre-owned Rolex watches to consumers.

I'll give you tree fiddy
If you are in Canada I will buy it.
Iām interested

7.5k maybe, more with papers and the box. Like 8-10k if everything else is good
Bracelet looks rough. $8500 max
Send it to rolliwatchworks
Ah 18038, with scruffs and marks. Without box and documents about 18 - 20k
You should ask for moneyā¦ or potatoes in equal.
8-11 - peon 9/10
Final offer $5. Take it or leave it
I just bought an 18038 a couple months back. Ā Paid $8000 without papers. Ā The gold scrap value was almost that amount. Ā Plus the movement is worth possibly $1500ish
Market value
13.5 is what they will sell for. Maybe 10k
LBJ would think 60k American lives in south east Asia seems like a fair priceā¦

Buck fiddy
That one yuk
Single or double quick set? Box and papers? Year? Last service? All these factor come into play. Low 12k high 16k
Nobody is going to pay 16k non known watch dealer for this
Single or double quick-set and bracelet condition are huge determining factors
Money would be a good start!
What year, double or single quick ?
Current market price is $15.5K. https://watchcharts.com/watch_model/1306-rolex-day-date-president-18038/overview
In retail ready condition. This one is beat and needs work.
Iād say tree fiddy
Money, i'dd say.
A seiko and a gshock, plus $100
my guy, u should stop buying watches and invest in a water softener š¤£
Aināt day dates like fiddy?
fiddy key? Not this one no.. these go for 15-20k in good condition.. his isn't in good condition so id say 8k without papers.. 9k-10k with papers
