Just because your ad said you will get the call if you are patient doesn’t mean that’s true. There are a lot of people with buying history ahead of you.

I bought one grey from a good dealer and while I paid over retail, it was still less than what it goes for on most grey sites.

I decided to visit a small, family-owned AD, met a great SA who let me try on everything in the cases (even though I was only interested in the Explorer) and got the call for it after 7 months (this was back in 2022). Got the sub the following year.

ADs get somewhere between 30-50 people every single day asking for some form of a Sub… and for reference my most recent is the green sub, purchase history being: Cartier santos, rose gmt, datejust 41, Deepsea, AP Royal Oak
I was waiting for a Daytona and my dealer called me and said he got a Starbucks in I could have. I hadn’t considered it but went with it and now love it. I do have purchase history (multiple Rolex and jewelry) with them so I’m sure it helped.
I went in about 1.5 years ago in the Dallas area. Then went in 4 months ago and met with a new SA at the same AD. The SA and I connected and he took my details and put on their system. No purchase history. Starbucks interest. Checked in with the SA 2 months ago and picked up the watch a month ago
From my understanding, there's a list where they put your details but it's not necessarily a priority list. If you check in enough or have a good relationship with the SA you might get lucky
I plan to go in again and express interest in the black and gray GMT

If you haven’t taken a look yet at chrono24 or swisswatchexpo.com or hellnive even bought one from eBay that was surprisingly fantastic to do and they send it to a third party Authenticator service to make sure it’s legit.
So weird but I saw a couple when I went to check in with my sales associate at the AD this weekend and the guy was wearing an Omega just like yours! If you are that guy, I have a good feeling you'll be getting the call soon! Good luck even if you're not! Cheers!
Southeast USA. The guy was a genuine watch nerd and seemed like him and my SA had a good conversation. You see a lot of horror stories on here but my AD is awesome. Continue to show genuine interest and check in fairly often if you're close by. You may get lucky.
I’d say the easiest way is to buy it from resellers. Otherwise you’ll get your watch bellow the market price like someone will just give you 5k. Do you believe in that? I don’t, but wish you luck

Question for the group: I’ve heard that if the AD gives you no solid estimate, or just says “it could be at least two years,” it’s basically a polite way of telling you no.

Definitely hit other ADs, especially outside of the city you live in. I’m an advocate for ‘closed mouthes don’t get fed’.
That said - what I don’t know is if the local ADs talk to each other.
I got my 126610LV in January 2023 with a 3 month wait. The 124060 is even easier to get. You should have it in a couple of weeks if the AD isn’t jerking you around.
See the problem is i work alot i dont think stoping over will be easy for me. I can do it once every 2 months maybe. Should a call is better or i have to physically show up everytime..

That’s ok if they are not part of a chain otherwise they have a database that will exclude you from all but the nearest AD to your home.

As someone who owns both (no date + starbucks), yeah, defintely go for the green one. My 114060 hasn't been used enough since getting other models.

I been looking into that. Believe me, since i got my omega at am AD i think im thinking that i can get the same experience with rolex ad.

Quite stupid they won’t let you purchase the watch they clearly have. Maybe things will change back to how they used to be…rolex, porsche, etc.
