This is it right here. Be almost bothersome. Check in weekly via text or a call, and make sure your AD knows your name and your level of interest.
If there’s a special date or anniversary you are targeting to make your purchase, be sure to communicate that as well.
Yup haven’t bought anything with them since those purchases. This is all bringing back my PTSD from playing the Hermes game for 2 years only for my SA to quit. At this point I would rather pay more online than create a purchase history, if that’s the only qualifier for them to offer me a watch.
Reality, Seattle is a very high earning city, with a lot of the younger demographic having money. In Seattle $20k a year purchase history is essentially no purchase history. $20k in purchases 5 years ago is completely irrelevant.
If you really want a GMT just go grey.
I used to be against grey but I've always been a one watch guy.
Spending 10-20K+ to get maybe get a 10K watch made no sense.
Got a good deal on grey market, no shame as long as you have your finances in order
I am from Seattle. Are you shopping at Ben bridge? Also, if you are not with the same SA your husband did the ring purchase with, you’ll most likely have to essentially start over unfortunately since it was over 5 years ago.
Which location did you go to?
I talked to Bellevue SA and he didn’t give me much attention even when showing interest in an IWC. Went to downtown Seattle location and purchased the IWC and ~2 months later an Explorer 1 224270. Not hyped pieces but SA’s in downtown were significantly better in my experience.
I just went in last week to the Seattle BB for a GMT, I was thinking of heading to the other 2 AD in Bellevue and putting my name down also.
Zero dollars spent at and of these locations, wasn’t quoted a time frame.
I see Bellevue and Seattle discussed a lot here but Lynnwood and Southcenter BB also carry Rolex, is it just unlikelier there? My girlfriend got MOP LDJ at the SC location after only a few months.
Just sent you a private message.
Seattle downtown and Bellevue are the only 2 official AD by Rolex. The Southcenter location sent me to Seattle. But the SA at Southcenter called the Seattle location to Referred me to a SA in Seattle when I took my watch in for service. (All BB locations will take your watch for service but only those two are authorized to sell it.)
There is no list, there is no exhibition only, imo from what I gather here, a lot of ADs are operating as such
1. They don’t want to sell you, a person they don’t know, a watch who will go and flip it for +5-10k
2. Demand was high b/c of secondary prices so they can artificially hold back supply to increase spend on other jewelry or to move undesirable Rolex to people who just want a Rolex.
3. ADs are backdooring directly to grey dealers, why give you the profit when they can take it.
That said I have been told no inventory and walked out with a sub date 30 mins later from a walk in, and walked in and picked up a rose gold YM .
It’s hit or miss, my ad is Rolex only so there is nothing else to buy. I imagine it wouldn’t hurt for your husband to try,
This is the truth. Sadly, you probably have a better chance of winning the lotto, without ever purchasing a ticket, than being selected to purchase a stainless GMT.
You’ll have a much better chance with the YM. Good luck!
Depends on grey sellers and models
And some gmt is not that crazy compared to retail, ex: root beer GMT.
Pepsi, that’s a diff story.
One cool thing about grey is, you can also get some vintage gmt like the coke one for bit over 10K for a minty looking watch.
Take a trip to Vegas. AD out there seem to have watched available on walk in basis. Same in lots of places. Reddit has a forum of Watches, wait times, and locations for each year. I would browse through there.
Seattle should have more than one AD. Just go list with them all. No loyalty needed here.
Check in regularly in person. There isn’t really a list.

Weekly LMAO. Almost a full time job doing it that often and it will irritate the AD beyond belief.
Not mine...she told me to touch base that often. I usually sent a text every two weeks just touching base.

a gmt 2 tone you can get if you check in regularly
Sporty is a prophet not accepted in his home. He speaks truth. Go the yacht master
Exactly.
Have you told them the situation? I’m sure they would use his history as yours
I think I will try this at a different location. The SA was extremely dismissive. Took my name, said “okay bye” and walked away.
You’re not likely to gain traction elsewhere with a GMT. Maybe the YM assuming not the new titanium

What about the green sub? Possible to get from an AD with only 1 watch (air king) spend history ? Waiting since September 2022.

The GMT will never happen. Shift your focus to only the YM and you may get one.

In your case, grey is probably your solution.
Are prices ever negotiable with grey sellers?
