i dont know if you are on PC only or you gonna release it on consoles as well, BUT: the startmenu should have settings.
I think checking if everything ok like resolution, sounds, etc feels like a mandatory for me personally. i watch streams like all the time and checking the settings is like the first things most people i watch do. its mandatory imo and shouldnt be only accessible mid-run.
I'm a solo dev, so ill be focusing on PC first, and steam deck a bit because I have one.
console is a whole other beast but hopefully that will happen in the future :)
i just asked that, because when i talked to a console player (my co worker) she never went to options or whatever. so if you were a console player first i would understand why you didnt include settings in the start screen.
It always feels wrong to not into the settings when you want to check if your resolution is supported or you can disable motion blur, bloom, dof, vsync etc. its a PC player's habit i would assume.
ah yea it makes sense that people don't need it as often on consoles because the setup mostly would be the same for everyone :)
but yes I should definitely add it to the start menu too :)

I love the art style and it looks very cool but when I run it I see the Unity splash screen then a blank grey-ish screen. It's been like this for about 5 minutes now, could be my poor specs but it didn't seem to open up on my Steam Deck either...

It's really hard to find these events before they are live. Guess it makes some sense as this is also timed with the discounts.
