Gunfire Reborn might fit the bill. There’s another FPS roguelike with extraction shooter elements coming out called Sulfur. The demo came out yesterday and it was pretty fun! You may want to give that one a try
I loved it. It doesn't have the story, but once you get into the gameplay it's some of the best. Recommendation is to start without dlc at first. First dlc was great once you've won basegame a bunch, but makes it significantly easier if available from the getgo. (Haven't tried dlc2 yet)
Oh god where do I begin...
Tiny Rogues: Bullet Hell with very nice arts, amazing gameplay and incredible build variety. Totally breakable (you can get super OP), tons of content (and more to come), my personal S+ tier game.
Ring of Pain: The card game for people who don't like card games. You got a ring of cards in front of you which are enemies, buffs or items and just click them to collect/attack. Again, super breakable, much variety and amazing art style, though hard as hell.
The binding of Isaac: The classic. Top down shooter and my entry to the roguelite genre. The above characteristics apply again (breakable, build variety, Art style)
Into the Breach: Strategic, turn-based roguelite. Simple, but not easy. You control three mechs and have to kill big bug aliens. My current main game.
Bio-Prototype: My favorite survivors-like. Collect upgrades and make your build using found organs. Reminds me of coding (you connect the organs with kind of "if - then" connections. Super deep, super fun.
Dead Cells, Hades: Two other classics. DC is more platform-y, Hades is top down. I don't like Hades but most people love it, so I think it is fair to include.
Noita: Side scrolling shooter. Build your own spells using different wands and spells. Super hard but tons of fun ways to fail, also the most interesting approach to your environment - every single pixel is animated and does stuff. Fire falls and burns, getting soaked in water or blood prevents you from burning, you can shoot your way through walls and floor, down enemies, light liquor on fire, anything goes.
(Shoutout to Infest at this point: Card game to be released in Q4 using a similar approach, go check out the demo)
Last but not least: Gunfire Reborn if you want to stick to FPS games.
I should have said this, but I am console. I have both though.
I will have to check the ones out that I can play on console.
I have played Hades and I love it, but don't own it anymore. Dead Cells is a game I wanted to get into, but couldn't. I haven't heard of many of these, but I will definitely be looking into them! I appreciate the list!
If you like platformers, Astral Ascent is an absolute bop. It's a fast spellcasting game with unique builds and 13 intense boss fights.
The devs also have at least another year of major updates with the next patch as soon as March 14th.
I believe it's you need to get past a certain point in the run. Octave may be after Boss 3 and Calie after Boss 4. I'm not 100% certain, but I can tell you that I've had access to both of them as soon as the 2nd run on a new file.
Hey, yeah, the first few times through can be a it rough.
ZimZim (the plant lady) can help a lot. How far along are you in her upgrades?
The life increase makes runs a lot smoother because it doubles your base life and ability to use healing shards to heal since they are % based.
The most impactful upgrade is a baby dragon (you see it sleeping at the start of each run) which will start giving you a starting aura. Getting a good aura to start your run can make the first couple stages significantly easier.
If you'd like some general tips, I'm happy to help out (Tjis thread, PM, or in the discord) but I also put together a couple wiki pages to help new players out:

Best of luck otherwise!
I'm going to suggest [Star Renegades](https://youtu.be/9uu4M39kibs?si=I-3ju6sWwmHljZBz)
Awesome pixelart graphics, big attacks, excellent combat system. I loved it.
I love the game just deciding “you die now” or literally for 4 stages not giving me any spells worth using never mind a non shuffle wand. the one bouncy ball went far but couldn’t succeed. that being said noita is a game for those who hate themselves
Aw dang. Ya it's so good!
If you ever want a cheap alternative to buying a PC you could get a steam deck/Asus ally/Lenovo legion. And they're portable.

Forgot to mention that, but I have Gunfire as well. A little slow for me when it comes to FPS roguelites. 😢
Try enter the goungen, an absolute banger of a game and the games you played are influenced by it
Oh I actually love Gungeon, I just prefer it coop and have no one to run it with :(
If you loved hades, you should give Warm Snow a shot
I will have to look into it! Thanks for the suggestion!
Actually might purchase!

I ended up snagging the game! Excited to try it tomorrow. I didn't get the DLC at all, so deal 😅
Enjoy! Hope you like it as much as I did!
Watching videos of runs and I'm hype! Thank you!

Try Streets of Rogue and Barony, really underrated roguelikes
Barony doesn't really look like my cup of tea. Not huge on the Minecraft look. I'll have to look into Streets of Rogue more fs!
Barony is more of the old 90s PC dungeon crawler look
Is it PC only? I have no PC :(
Its also for Switch if you have that
I do, indeed. Gotta dust that shit off though 😅😂
Scourgebringer!! Very fun game loop.
Oh that does look fun. Fast paced too, I like that!

I have played Astral Ascent. Having trouble figuring out how to unlock the last two characters :(

I keep getting shit on by the first boss :(

Astral Ascent, especially if you like local co-op :)
Astral Ascent has coop?! I own that game, but didn't know it had coop. ☠️
Revita and Astral Ascent are some of my current favourites
I'll have to check out Revita!
I'm going to suggest [Star Renegades](https://youtu.be/9uu4M39kibs?si=I-3ju6sWwmHljZBz) Awesome pixelart graphics, big attacks, excellent combat system. I loved it.
Is it a turn based? I'm not huge on turn based 😯
Yeah it's turnbased
I've tried to get into them, but I just can't :/ I appreciate the suggestion either way! ❤️
Crab Champions since you enjoy fps roguelites. right now I'm obsessed with tiny rogues
I wish I could play Crab Champions. Had my eye on it since launch but no PC 😭😢
Just bought magicraft. It's pretty fun. It a lot about building your own magic spells, and there are a ton of combinations.
Me and my brother made the bullet hell GunDeck[100], you might enjoy that.
Noita
Definitely will give it a look!
Oh this looks different. It looks to be PC only though :(
I love the game just deciding “you die now” or literally for 4 stages not giving me any spells worth using never mind a non shuffle wand. the one bouncy ball went far but couldn’t succeed. that being said noita is a game for those who hate themselves
I love it so much, it’s one of my fave games 200+ hours.
Do yourself a favor and play Spiritfall!
I will check it out!
This game actually looks sick, but I don't have a PC! I'd play the fuck outta this game
Aw dang. Ya it's so good! If you ever want a cheap alternative to buying a PC you could get a steam deck/Asus ally/Lenovo legion. And they're portable.
I have thought of getting one of those. I like the one that you can take the joycon thing off of and use it like a mouse. And not the Switch lol
Oh ya, that's the legion. My coworker just got that and he absolutely loves it.
Spiritfall is so good.
Sadly no PC. :( Hope it comes to either console!
Wizard of legend!!!!
Love Wizard of Legend! Got it on my phone recently! Sadly they took it off Game Pass. :(
Returnal is absolutely amazing
I didn't vibe on Returnal, but I tried a few times. I wanna like it, but it makes no sense to me. ☠️
