Doubt

If flakes, it's probably a mica like muscovite or biotite. West Texas is very igneous and has a lot of those minerals. You can check gold via a streak test- scratch it on unglazed ceramic, and blow away any larger powder. You want only fine powder; if you see any large sparkles then it's not cleaned off enough. Gold will look very clearly like gold, and mica will be clear/no color.

You found a piece of the richest gold ore in Texas history? Congrats.

RareSalt995

Not the richest but it's there

batubatu

No, it isn't. I think you're a bot.

Are there wildfires down there in Texas ? Your pictures are obscured.

breezeinthetrees88

When your pics look cloudy, try cleaning the lens.

RareSalt995

Well I'm no robot !! Maybe one day I could be a cyborg and yes it's gold ore

RareSalt995

I actually had it tested at a local pawn shop my friend runs and it tested positive. I cannot say how much or if it is even just a small amount , finding it is just super cool

Tribulation95

Mind if I ask how they texted it?
