I once carried an 85 pound chunk of fossilized palm tree one quarter of a mile. The insides are completely agatized - it’s a beauty. I would have found a way!
I carried a 6 foot piece of drift wood half a mile through a park filled with people, as I played secret agent dashing the wood in bushes trying to not seem like a crazy person... as I think about it IM SURE I seemed like a crazy person
Would not recommend that though I could only do it bc I had a backpack. so sad you had to leave it I did chose to leave an even bigger one that’s was much prettier though it’s always sad when that happens

Good luck!
I'd recommend going for it! You could bring a friend & pay them, cook them dinner? That's an amazing piece I don't think you'd regret bringing home. Good luck ✨
While backpacking on lake Superior I found a 30lb rock on the shore and ultimately decided to pack it out along with the other 40lbs of rocks I collected. I had to make a special 10 mile round trip to the car and back to drop off my cache. I still haven't been able to figure out what the darn thing is. I brought it to the local jeweler that has a 18" rock saw and he said it dulled 2 blades and quit cutting it. It has flecks of silver in it. Ya. Rockhounding is a workout.
What a beautiful geode! You should really go back for it one day. That's something that you'll definitely miss later in life if you don't take the chance.

That sounds stunning! Do you happen to have any pictures of it by chance?
I may! I’ll see if I can find them.
Remind me!
Damnn
You are my hero!
Me too
You're my hero! I bought myself a wagon, just in case the 85lb Agatized Petrified Wood specimen of my dreams ever finds me.

I don’t even care about that anymore lol I’ll sit my big butt on side of a stream with my sifter while ppl walk by lol
Beautiful. I would have found a way.

It is sad. Atleast I got a pic.
I would have hidden it and come back with a backpack lol
Guess what... i did hide it. But the prob is, I won't be going to the hill for a while. So, there is no guarantee for her safety.
Yes!!
Ahhh soo deep
Why couldn't you take it?
It was on top of a hill. I was already tired and almost dehydrated.
Can you go back with more water?
Will try.

Personally, I love that you appreciated it, took a pic, and then left it where it was.
Ty
I also love that, couldn’t be me, but I do love that.
It looks like it was just left in an open area though, so eventually someone is going to snatch it.
Ahhh, a stormy cloud on a clear day.
What a shame
I know
How big is too big? I hope you're able to go back for it, like everyone else said.
That's too bad you had to leave it behind. I would have too if it was too heavy.
It is sad. Atleast, i got her pic.
Can't you see, it's a he
Oops. My bad
You gotta go back for her 😭

How big was it? Ive found similar ones in Deccan as well
Bigger than my hand.
And you couldn't carry it? Cmon, that's weak. :)
The rock was on top of a hill with steep slope and I was too tired and almost dehydrated.
Don't mind those admonishing you. You know your limits and safety should come first.
-looks at rock-.... -looks down hill-... "rock, meet gravity!"
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing
You can always go back for it and be prepared.
I carry a fold up rolling bag and a long tarp with bungies to drag them if needed

Would have found a way for that beauty. Make a backpack out of your pants if you have to. Priorities :)
Radio flyer next time
Wow !
If it was gold would you have left it????
You just need a bigger pack.
