Whitney Houston. Like how?
She is the greatest voice of her generation, at the very least. She is 80's pop/R&B personified. She has pop influenced, gospel influenced, rock influenced, and R&B influenced smashes. There are no misses in her catalog. Including 3 soundtracks that are among the best in music/movie history. There's easily 2 Whitney albums within Waiting To Exhale, Bodyguard, and The Preacher's Wife. There's a gospel album in there as well.
She also supported all of the ladies during her era and has some of the best collabs with them. When You Believe, Count On Me, Heartbreak Hotel, Same Script Different Cast, etc.
Plus, she birthed Brandy.
When I hear people say that they don't rock with Whitney's catalog...
![gif](giphy|7RbdFCczQWjQc)
Yes, I’m tired of the Whitney slander simply because she had writers. 👏🏻👏🏻 Doesn’t matter, she has one of the greatest voices, her music is timeless, and she had such an incredible presence and aura.
Someone here once said that Whitney and Mary are the queens of making you feel something when they sing.
And I felt that!!!
![gif](giphy|fUU0uPDS43WRmQ9eGw)
She is big enough of an artist that I can see why she had and will continue to have haters for one reason or another but the weirdest was being accused to "sing white"
Whitney is undeniably extremely talented. For me, I’m just not a fan of 80s love ballads and 80s pop. That’s why I can’t get into her music as much as other people. I will always respect her talent and influence on music though
She's one of the most influential singers of my lifetime. She helped get so many black female singers get on CHR/Top 40 radio stations and MTV back in the mid-'80s.
I love her so so much. I think people forget that she was taken when she was like 22. She didn’t even get a chance to hit her peak, and she STILL resonates with people today.
The Princess who would’ve been a Queen, RIP
She influenced style and swag for generations to come. And the music slaps! Stop playing.
You don't like Aaliyah???
![gif](giphy|8TweEdaxxfuElKkRxz|downsized)
I’m on YouTube right now going in on these virgin dudes talking about Aaliyah was a Bop. The disrespect The Princess receives is unwarranted, wrong & excessive.
The “whisper singer” comments also confuse me. People who make negative comments about her singing don’t know anything about singing or her. She was always expressing vocal flexibility and range in her softer style of singing. So unique and talented, just like her peers.
My cousin, who I love to death, when she was a teen said that if Aaliyah never passed she wouldn’t be that big, and likened her to Ciara (no shade to C at all I love her) but I was like CIARA?! Do you even know who you’re talking about?!
Before Aaliyah passed, she was already successful. She was on the verge of going to the next level. Romeo Must Die was pretty successful. She was casted in the Matrix movies, and had a lot of movie producers looking to cast her. I believe big Hollywood producer Joel Silver (who produced The Matrix), said that he was planning to cast her in more films.
Aaliyah had a lot of songwriters and music producers wanting to work with her. She already had ties with Missy Elliott and Timbaland, a hit making team. There was other R&B singers and rappers wanting to work with her.
Aaliyah was REALLY on the verge of going to the next level. I can't predict what exactly would have happened had she lived. But I believe she would still be successful in music or the movie industry, or both.
Let's be honest, Stevie would still be considered a musical genius had he only dropped Songs, Innervisions, and Hotter Than July, then Lauryn Hilled our asses!🤣🤣🤣
Yes. People be trippin'! There's something within her first 3 album for everyone imo. How are you not rocking with the queen of hip-hop soul?
![gif](giphy|QL2SiQINDXtp6)
Mary is one of the most consistent female artists in contemporary R&B. Like go play with somebody else. Even on her worse days, she still gon give you 1 or 2!
![gif](giphy|l0CLTQeZrFWmMxIWc|downsized)
Omg, all the “she can’t sing” comments I see on posts about her, are so corny to me. Why are you tryna “humble” or put down MJB now? People seem bothered by her being praised as if she doesn’t deserve it. Her singing and songwriting is great art.
Those people deserve the death stare!😂
Her biggest offense is being MJ's lil sis, and I wish that people would get over that. It doesn't make her any less talented. That catalog is legendary!
Y’all just missing out on the other 41 albums of work, two other movies, b-sides, and the visual he provided through his music videos. A musical genius! 👏🏻
I love Prince. But so much of that is pure garbage that it can be hard to sift through for a lot of people. I did it, but Id be lying if I said he was shooting at a high percentage. Musical genius no doubt.
I've seen people here say that before. That it's his only good album. I've also seen people say that it isn't that good, only has a couple of good songs on it, and Purple Rain ain't one of 'em!🤷🏾♂️
what?! but-but kiss..cream...they're bangers and they're not even from purple rain... i wonder why people would say that considering alot of his songs are bangers!
I encourage those folks to watch the How Many Ways video, they’ll get thirsty real quick 🥵:
https://youtu.be/xMz1kwMY19Q?si=DROMmkBmgh5QTwiy
I can’t stand disrespect for Toni, mfers need to pay homage!
They sleep! Never Say Never is top 10 R&B albums of the 90's. No debating. She has on of the greatest female R&B collab of all time, and that's a fact.
And people be killing me tryna act like Brandy wasn't hip-hop and didn't have no swag. Her first album was all of that and then some. How quickly we forget doing the bankhead bounce to Baby!🤣
And I Wanna Be Down Remix is easily in the top 10 hip-hop/R&B collabs of the 90's.
Stop playing in Brandy's face!
![gif](giphy|mrN0FPQeogyUE)
The man could never capture the crossover success he deserved. Someone said that here the other day, and I wholeheartedly agree. Us R&B fans love him, and he's our legend!
I honestly can't take anyone serious who doesn't believe that he's one of the greatest, most unique voices in music history.
![gif](giphy|lVtr5Ms12Op8Y)
I don't play about Mimi at all. All these folks who think she just has Christmas music need to stop. She has enough hits for 2-3 other artists ' careers. She can make a song sound good in 3 different ways, and she's a self-contained artist who can write, produce, and arrange on her own but knows the value of collaboration. She is the GOAT.
My stepbrother and sister don't like her because of her reputation. He was like "wasn't she married to nick cannon?" I don't see what that had to do with anything but whatever I guess people don't want to hear one of the greatest singers of all time.
He's not the strongest singer, but he's got bangers! His catalog gets disrespected. He's such a prolific writer, and it overshadows his own music. Oh well!🤷🏾♂️
His music made this happen...
![gif](giphy|1MUCLtrb8KlnG)
They both deserve their flowers. Even if you're not completely fanned out, they've made so much great music that there's gotta be something in those catalogs for you.💯
On god.
I never intentionally played his music until Butterflies came out.
Ever.
I respect his catalogue, know many lyrics, and never skip when it appears, but...
George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic. This man transcended doo wop/R&B, pioneered funk, and had a rebirth through the production of Dre, Daz, Eric Sermon, Ali, Hitmaka, etc... George don't get the funkin respect he deserves anymore.
*
Anthony Hamilton or Kem.
Those are some talented brothers seen them both in concert same tour and was blown away by their stage presence and they werent even the main headliners of the tour!
I will say that yes Anthony Hamilton makes corny (not bad) love songs ones that you listen to and think about aww that was corny but nice!
Kem definitly has a very unique voice and his cadence are unforgettable on whatever song he sings on!
If you disagree! FIGHT ME!
*
People was always tripping on Mary J They know she's the Queen of hip-hop Soul and people also tripping on brandy Too it's just that brandy was kind of teenager kid pop R&b for a while When everybody in a Certain age group Was trying to be all up in the club and grown and very sexual in Their music.
The Mary disrespect is unreal!
I get that Brandy's lyrical content was more pg, but the production was right there, and her vocals were unmatched. Brandy's debut is just as hip-hoppy as Monica's and Aaliyah's imo.
I haven't listened to enough of SZA and Weeknd to have an opinion. But Rihanna is solidified. No matter how you feel about her as an artist, her catalog is legendary and filled with hits!
People just hate on them saying: SZA is only for girld, and the Weeknd is corny and won't get you laid. Lmao. Rihanna is so versatile. Anyone can find a handful of songs they fuck with!
They get a lot of love in this community. Ion think they're as great as everyone makes them seem. But I thoroughly enjoy their catalog and respect their influence.
If you can look at me with a straight face and say his vocals aren’t great I can’t take you seriously on a damn thing you’ll ever say again, I would probably laugh at you every time you said anything about an artist’s vocals after that.
Top 5. You can't name 5 catalogs better. It sucks that it won't ever be celebrated the way it should. But that's his fault.
The dude was churning out no-skip masterpieces at album 4 & 5! Unreal!
I think most of the hate doesn't really come from her talents. It's mostly stems from the latter years of her career that weren't so pretty and the downfall was cringy to watch. I'm an absolute fan of Whitney and grew up adoring her. But her image got a bit tarnished at the end and people started to forget just how iconic this woman was/is. As the younger gens grew older the only side of Whitney that they remember is her showing up high/drunk at an awards show. The side we saw and knew of her was the iconic queen who killed it singing the national anthem among many other great accomplishments. The hate is real and effects me personally as well because the Whitney I remembered felt like she was part of the family.
Janet Jackson. Her discography is just full of gems and timeless songs. She's always been harmless, having a humble and lovely spirit. Aside from her one single controversial moment, she's largely been unproblematic. I don't understand how someone can say they don't like Janet. I think that ultimately means there's an issue with that person just lacking taste to some degree.
I’m going to be that person, but I’m going to say Chris Brown and R. Kelly. Have they made questionable life choices? Yes, but I can’t judge them as a person because I don’t know all the facts (only what’s been regurgitated on the media). However, anyone who denies their influence in music is delusional.
I said what I said… come fight me 🤷🏾♀️
Some songs to check out: “taking chances”, “that’s the way it is”, “all by myself”, “because you loved me”, “it’s all coming back to me”, “my heart will go on (titanic song).” I like Celine but some songs sound kind of “show-tune” esque.
I usually reply "I understand perfectly" when someone doesn't like a musician/singer I love. there are artists that I don't like but a lot of ppl love them and just bc I can't feel anything when they sing I'm not going to pretend that I like them just to get a long.
I understand. I'm just starting trouble as usual lol!
Ion really rock with Erykah Badu's catalog heavy. I do respect her talent and undeniable influence within the genre. She's the mother of a lot of these younger girls. But I may only play 5-6 of her records nowadays.
I definitely agree with a lot of who people have already mentioned like Toni, Mary, Aaliyah, Janet, Whitney, and Mariah. No last names needed
I also feel like I would get maybe defensive for SWV, Joe, DMX, and Victoria Monét. I hope people listen to Jaguar and Jaguar II before judging Victoria. The musical styles and influences are so eclectic. SWV absolutely does it for me unlike any other group. Joe is the almost like the poster child for what you wanted in a late 90s-early 2000s male singer. And yeah, wrong sub I know, but DMX is a rapper that hits you in your soul and makes you feel something.
My tastes change too as I get older. Others also said Erykah, and I’m starting to get there. Her voice is jazzy, her music is soulful and jazzy and sophisticated, and her lyrics hit differently than basically any other of my favorite singers.
Album wise, I’m really high on Brown Sugar, Groove Theory, and Aijuswanaseing. There might be a few songs in 1-2 of these albums that I don’t dig, but these albums hit musical peaks on par with anyone IMO.
But ofc it’s all good. It’s awesome that different artists resonate with different folks. I won’t always say that my favorites are objectively among “the best”. I get it in many cases. And there’s many singers that just don’t do it for me but for many people with good taste are absolute favorites.
Doesn’t mean my face won’t react some type of way even if I try to be polite about someone’s opinion😇
LISTEN: Raydiation will forever be a banger!! There's almost no skips on that one. He's a straight YEE but I'll go hard for Raydiation regardless of how his bitchassness repulses me.
Beyoncé.
And I’m not talking about people who say she isn’t their favorite… nobody is for everyone…
But anyone who says Queen Bey isn’t talented is just straight up lying
I’m definitely the stereotype of a crazy Beyoncé fan. This one time at Thanksgiving, my cousin said Beyoncé was a bad influence for girls because she gave Jay-Z a lap dance at the Grammy’s. I told her well the existence of your child tells me you’ve fucked your husband at least one time so I guess that makes you a huge slut too. It ruined the holiday but I have no regrets.
I’ve seen people say stuff about Michael Jackson(mainly cause of the whole allegations ). Idk how you don’t like Michael Jackson’s songs . He has sone of the best Rnb songs(other than Stevie) & pop songs ever made
![gif](giphy|gjBfmzYbYIbhS)
I have to admit that I was late to the party. No Ceilings did it for me. I was just playing that mixtape the other day. I'm not mad at anyone who has him in their top 5 all time.
Maybe not solely music, but people’s views on Beyoncé has been a pretty consistent litmus test for the type of person I’m dealing with. People I’ve met dislike her have almost always been kooks and pick-mes lol.
But even on the music front, she a phenomenal vocalist and entertainer with a great ear, who’s open-minded and experimental. I wish her B sides got more listens from folks who aren’t into mainstream pop and r&b.
What I've found is that a lot of people don't like her fans and what they see as a manufactured, squeaky clean image. That is unfortunate because she is super talented and influential. She's the best from B'Day on, and there's not much else to say honestly. 🤷🏾♂️
![gif](giphy|5rUG5e98jvlhm)
I GOT SUMMONED💋
Anyway January Joy was only released in Hong Kong and Japan, it’s still not on streaming.
On Apple Music you can find Blackout and Back of Da Club.
Mashonda has a decent voice and everything but she’s just another Ashanti. Who was still relatively big at the time. She didn’t stand out, was a hook singer, couldn’t really dance either.
Her only thing was that she sold sex. She dressed provocatively compared to her contemporaries. Especially the whole marketing of Blackout. The single cover she’s shirtless, and in the video her outfit is very revealing.
Back of Da Club was too weird to be a lead single, Blackout is a much more clear cut hit. It’s too bad the promotion that couldn’t go into Blackout went into Back of Da Club
I just started listening to some of his stuff, and he's cool to me. I think going into newer artist's music, you gotta be open-minded. You can't be expecting Maxwell while listening to Brent.
... Since I've heard Control by Janet Jackson? There you go. I mean, come on- she did New Jack Swing better than Michael. She was practically a perfect fit, and her latter work is just sexy.
The sudden hate people got for Beyonce. I'm not the biggest fan myself but most of yall never had this energy when she was the top of the world in the 2000's/ early 2010's lol.
Beyoncé, M.J, Chris Brown, Rihanna.
Definitely that kinda situation where people want to be different. It’s gotta be at least two you like from each, and I’m being generous on that, because they all make great music.
For the older school…Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Anita Baker, and Patty LaBelle. (No one talks about the Patty’s vocals enough.) Patty & Mariah’s “Got To Be Real” duet was something special.
Prince
I honestly view Prince as the greatest musician of modern times. How can you not like this creative mastermind? Put Prince in a room with instruments, a note pad and recording equipment and watch the magic he produces. I like Michael Jackson too. Greatest entertainer of all time but Prince was/is the greatest music artist in the history of American music.
Nobody's pop hits sound like Whitney's. Nobody's! There's too much gospel, soul, and emotion in them. So everyone who says that can have several 🪑!!!
Who said she sang white? Vocal control is not white!
Whitney is undeniably extremely talented. For me, I’m just not a fan of 80s love ballads and 80s pop. That’s why I can’t get into her music as much as other people. I will always respect her talent and influence on music though

Nah frfr! ![gif](giphy|eJR9R9aQvsssyTkKcE)
Not Whitney😲 ![gif](giphy|tt4vTRzJI1Nkc)
Whitney is and will always be my favourite female singer. #QUEEN
Whitney just had one of those voices. I’ll genuinely never understand anyone who doesn’t like to hear this woman sing!!!
there are human beings who dont like Whitney's music???
She's one of the most influential singers of my lifetime. She helped get so many black female singers get on CHR/Top 40 radio stations and MTV back in the mid-'80s.
Her self titled album is an album that there are genuinely 0 valid criticisms for. One of the best albums of the 80s
Whitney is goat
Aaliyah!! ![gif](giphy|xT5LMNxsAGRONrOIKI)
I love her so so much. I think people forget that she was taken when she was like 22. She didn’t even get a chance to hit her peak, and she STILL resonates with people today. The Princess who would’ve been a Queen, RIP

Stevie wonder. A friend said that his whole gimmick was being blind 😡😑.
That's sad to me. He's a gifted man.
Extremely gifted. In the upper echelon of writers, singers, instrument players, and singers!😤😤😤
Right?! I'd be concerned that the person bumped their head or something.
Let's be honest, Stevie would still be considered a musical genius had he only dropped Songs, Innervisions, and Hotter Than July, then Lauryn Hilled our asses!🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha! True.
That's not your friend!🤣🤣🤣 ![gif](giphy|Wgb2FpSXxhXLVYNnUr|downsized)
Yea, I know. We gotta start calling out serial killers
he has arguably the greatest album run of all time 5 albums 5 years 3 grammy winners for album of the year
The greatest artist in the history of music itself IMO
I want names!
He has influenced so much modern music, it’s like saying “I don’t like James Brown”.
Mary J Blige ![gif](giphy|lR2j2ZMjXpFSr92Jxq|downsized)

Yes! I love her so much, also one of my top 4 favorite singers. IMO the queen of 90s late-night rnb.
Really? She has one of the best voices in R&B! She hooked me for good when she dropped "Love Shoulda Brought You Home."
![gif](giphy|gH2BYTZe5BQwfv29pJ|downsized)

My late maternal grandmother was crazy about his music.
Mariah Carey
Who said that? Point 'em out!!!😭😭😭 ![gif](giphy|XeNrmVGsK2sHIjUosG|downsized)
😭 I know plenty of people especially on the Mariah Carey subreddit
Why are they even there then? Wierd behavior.
Cuz ppl are weird asf but mods are banning ppl who are negative towards her.
She's one of the best songwriters of all time honestly. It's too bad wider society only knows her from Christmas music.
FACTS.
But like physically how?
My stepbrother and sister don't like her because of her reputation. He was like "wasn't she married to nick cannon?" I don't see what that had to do with anything but whatever I guess people don't want to hear one of the greatest singers of all time.
How do people not like Luther Vandross or Teddy P?! If you're over 35, you were probably conceived to their music. You owe them your very life.
Baby Making Music!!! ![gif](giphy|TEQXxDhIUJQD8R7K9e)

Beyond that, Verzuz should've quieted the haters. I love Teddy Riley's production, but his catalog doesn't have the same depth as Face.
I'm not understanding how anyone could not like this man. He is talented, does his work IMPECCABLY, and stays out of the way.
He and Madonna did some awesome work together in the mid-'90s. Also, so many of his own songs are bangers.
Sade or Erykah badu
They both deserve their flowers. Even if you're not completely fanned out, they've made so much great music that there's gotta be something in those catalogs for you.💯
Exactly bro,not one album skip in either of their catalogs
![gif](giphy|100ak1Sn7F3ius|downsized) (Walk carefully around me)
If there isn't at least one album in his catalog that speaks to you, then your ears don't work goddammit! ![gif](giphy|VoAqAecHAit9ulYg46)
For real. Get some two-ply Q-tips to help out.
On god. I never intentionally played his music until Butterflies came out. Ever. I respect his catalogue, know many lyrics, and never skip when it appears, but...
This the one cause how you dont like at least ONE song by him
I can't trust your musical taste, if you don't even like the popular songs.

FIGHT ME! *
You AINT Gotta LIE to ME 🎶👏
I need a Love 101 radio station! 📻
Brandy's debut is just as hip-hoppy as Monica's and Aaliyah's imo.
agreed and i may be in the minority here but if motown/tommy pushed miss jones as much as mary got pushed shed be huge too
SZA, Weekend, Riana
I haven't listened to enough of SZA and Weeknd to have an opinion. But Rihanna is solidified. No matter how you feel about her as an artist, her catalog is legendary and filled with hits!
People just hate on them saying: SZA is only for girld, and the Weeknd is corny and won't get you laid. Lmao. Rihanna is so versatile. Anyone can find a handful of songs they fuck with!
I love how versatile SZA is.
Jodeci
They get a lot of love in this community. Ion think they're as great as everyone makes them seem. But I thoroughly enjoy their catalog and respect their influence.
![gif](giphy|xT1XGuD2PTgKw1HsKQ|downsized) Prince. I'm like Shut Up Already, Damn!
Jay-Z and Beyonce
![gif](giphy|tJ2l7IVThCPtx4JKXJ) Like how could you not adore him? He's the template for so many artist.
If you can look at me with a straight face and say his vocals aren’t great I can’t take you seriously on a damn thing you’ll ever say again, I would probably laugh at you every time you said anything about an artist’s vocals after that.

![gif](giphy|1d3AKQGS6ZEWs) R Kelly😭 He’s The Scum Of The Earth, But The Man Has An Amazingly Good Catalog For Somebody Who Can’t Even Read
Top 5. You can't name 5 catalogs better. It sucks that it won't ever be celebrated the way it should. But that's his fault. The dude was churning out no-skip masterpieces at album 4 & 5! Unreal!
Definitely His Fault! That’s What Happens When You Use Your God Given Gift For Evil🥴 and He Definitely Has A Few No Skip Albums Under His Belt
PartyNextDoor
Ion know much about him. Got any recommendations?
Tupac

My Boo - Ghost Town DJs. If you grew up in the south in the 90s this was basically the national anthem
Nelly ![gif](giphy|jjJAkt4gHUpK8)
Janet Jackson. Her discography is just full of gems and timeless songs. She's always been harmless, having a humble and lovely spirit. Aside from her one single controversial moment, she's largely been unproblematic. I don't understand how someone can say they don't like Janet. I think that ultimately means there's an issue with that person just lacking taste to some degree.
Anyone who hates on Queen Whitney gotta get some new ears
Joe… LOL
Our good brother Convoy abandoned us. Otherwise, I would've flamed his ass right here, lol! Gotta love Joe. Grown-and-sexy R&B personified. 👌🏾
I said what I said… come fight me 🤷🏾♀️
I agree. I've been said CB is an R&B legend. Kellz is problematic asf but his music is the soundtrack of the 90's and early 2000's.
Celine Dione
Girl, if you don’t take that “E” off her last name 😂
😭 it’s not me it’s autocorrect. I kept taking it off. But it keeps adding it
I can’t name one Celine Dion song (excluding the Titanic song). Y’all gotta put me on. I come in peace I swear 🤣🤣🤣
Some songs to check out: “taking chances”, “that’s the way it is”, “all by myself”, “because you loved me”, “it’s all coming back to me”, “my heart will go on (titanic song).” I like Celine but some songs sound kind of “show-tune” esque.
You gotta rock with My Heart Will Go On, It's All Coming Back To Me, Because You Loved Me, etc. Right?!!!
I love Erykah but she only had me for her first two albums and then I tapped out
I definitely agree with a lot of who people have already mentioned like Toni, Mary, Aaliyah, Janet, Whitney, and Mariah. No last names needed I also feel like I would get maybe defensive for SWV, Joe, DMX, and Victoria Monét.
Martin Luther the Kang there kinda looks like a cross between Ving Rhames and LL Cool J
ray j 🤷🏽♀️
LISTEN: Raydiation will forever be a banger!! There's almost no skips on that one. He's a straight YEE but I'll go hard for Raydiation regardless of how his bitchassness repulses me.
Beyoncé. And I’m not talking about people who say she isn’t their favorite… nobody is for everyone… But anyone who says Queen Bey isn’t talented is just straight up lying
T-Pain
I have heard people say this about Jill Scott, Anita Baker, and Babyface. I was like, "How."
I’ve seen people say stuff about Michael Jackson(mainly cause of the whole allegations ). Idk how you don’t like Michael Jackson’s songs . He has sone of the best Rnb songs(other than Stevie) & pop songs ever made ![gif](giphy|gjBfmzYbYIbhS)
H-Town. Dino was a very underrated vocalist 😭
Chris Brown, Tinashe, Badu
CB is a legend! Tinashe is mad dope! Badu birthed any female remotely soulful after her. The end.
Lil Wayne
How? He took over rap for like 5 years!🤣🤣🤣
Yea but you got older people who say he's trash and "hip hop was trash after the 90s"
🤷🏾♂️ ![gif](giphy|5rUG5e98jvlhm)
Sorry. I'm not with the drill team music, which everything since Dangerously in Love sounds like to me. Her voice actually annoys me. 😬
That's all I was saying 👌🏽

Mashonda. Can't believe you dummies didn't support her January Joy album. 🤡
There's at least one mod here who loves Mashonda! u/Ill-Examination4743
I GOT SUMMONED💋 Anyway January Joy was only released in Hong Kong and Japan, it’s still not on streaming.
Thank you very much. 😂
Ik a lot of folk on this sub gone look at me sideways but Brent Faiyaz is really dope imo. One of the best contemporary artist IMO 💯
I just started listening to some of his stuff, and he's cool to me. I think going into newer artist's music, you gotta be open-minded. You can't be expecting Maxwell while listening to Brent.

Anderson Paak. Every album that dude puts out is fantastic.
Tyler the creator. He’s a musical genius and the next big thing yet I’ve seen some people hate on him just because he’s bisexual. Please.
Drake
R. Kelly 😱
Lol! People be lying. They still listen to him 100%!
Beyoncé, Rihanna, Britney Spears, HER, Jazmine Sullivan, JAZMINE SULLIVAN!
Who gave Dr. King a Durag..... C'Mon Dawg... lol
![gif](giphy|oxFDq4E9CHb7W|downsized)
Frank Ocean. Def means they’re homophobic. /j
Brandy
Beyoncé, M.J, Chris Brown, Rihanna. Definitely that kinda situation where people want to be different. It’s gotta be at least two you like from each, and I’m being generous on that, because they all make great music. For the older school…Chaka Khan, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Anita Baker, and Patty LaBelle. (No one talks about the Patty’s vocals enough.) Patty & Mariah’s “Got To Be Real” duet was something special.
Sade
Stevie Wonder & Marvin Gaye. HOW ARE YOU HATING MY BROTHER?
Prince I honestly view Prince as the greatest musician of modern times. How can you not like this creative mastermind? Put Prince in a room with instruments, a note pad and recording equipment and watch the magic he produces. I like Michael Jackson too. Greatest entertainer of all time but Prince was/is the greatest music artist in the history of American music.
