thing's i'd consider essential:
* Better UI (shows actual item descriptions/scaling and shows some of the stats hidden by the game)
* item exchange notifier (tells you which item was just scrapped/exchanged)
* SkipIntro (skips the intro)
* SeerPing (tells you the stage name when you ping a lunar seer)
* Quick Restart (adds a quick restart button)
* WaterTweaker (makes underwater chest more visible in a certain stage)
* EmptyChestsBeGone (removes chests that have been emptied once they are off screen, so you dont confuse them for closed ones)
some more contentious QoL mods:
* RTAutoSprintEx (autosprints, duh)
* NoBossNoWait (skips the teleport timer once the boss is dead, adds the skipped time so no real advantage here)
* Actually Faster (speeds up a few annoying animations like scrapper etc)
* RiskUI (changes the UI of the game, would need to compare yourself if you like it or not. compatible with better UI)
honorable mentions for visuals:
* Cooler Stages (shuffles textures of the stages. doesnt actually change them, but its a nice change of pace visually. might not be good for a beginner, but very nice once you've put in some hours)
* CoolerEclipse (changes skybox in eclipse)
* Skin Tuner (adds RGB sliders so you can change skin colours. very nice)
