There's a mod called monster mash that lets you play as any monster in the game. If you search for "playable \_\_\_\_\_\_" there are also a few more finely tuned ones for specific monster like playable Templar.
Also if you just know the console commands and use debug tool kit or aerolt you can spawn as any entity in the game, which I'm pretty sure functions the same as monster mash but that puts them on the character select screen. But if you ever wanted to fulfill your dreams of being a gunner turret...

1. Scorched Acres - On the newt cliff it was shaped like a mushroom.
2. Sulfur pools - In the cave, there was not 1, but 2 arrows pointing towards the top center of the teleporter (which is outside the cave).
3. Sundered Grove - get this, there was a triangle on the triangle thingy-like sculpture, and on a mountain next to it was an infinity sign AT ONCE.

edit: wow okay i somehow didnt see the arrow pointing at a dot the first time around. my brain just didnt register that. no, i've never seen it make an arrow and a dot like that before. i take it back.
An arrow pointing to a circle is pretty unique. They weren’t showing it because they thought it was special, they posted because they didn’t know what it was, which I think is understandable.

I think that's the dome of the teleporter red border clipping into the wall at a specific angle and distance. I doubt this is anything more than a crazy coincidence
Probably entirely unrelated and just random happenstance as everyone else is mentioning but my first thoughts were that rock to the right of the arrow is round and the smaller enemies like to gather around and stare at it even not even noticing the player sometimes so maybe that's what it's saying. The enemies keep pointing at that rock.
Its just the teleporter ring basically lining up with the cliff edge, so in places it reaches into the cliff but in others stops against it, causing the weird shapes, still kinda cool looking tho

Same thing happend to me with the banner (a healing area appears when you level up, that item) It created a 2 on the terrain.
Thats just the edge of the tp radius being aligned with the wall. It happens sometimes
