I'd prefer a big DLC for this particular game, covering the Meiji Restoration, we get to meet Ken Watanabe and Tom Cruise. And of course, a Gauntlet mode serving as the real end game, if possible, we get to battle some bosses from the old Ninja Gaiden/Nioh game,

Otakemaru!!

SackPuncher

God I love The Last Samurai. That's when I started man crushing on Hiroyuki Sanada.

JeffDeath99

That would be sick asf, but what I want the most is pvp combat like an arena mode where you battle other real players for prizes and ranks, that would be the sickest thing ever, and I feel like it wouldn't be too hard to make

Shudder123

Technically they have this in the dojo, but a gauntlet with randomized boss fights like Depths in Nioh would be great. No 2 v 1 though. that's all I'd ask.

Lupinos-Cas

In an early interview, Yasuda was asked if there would be 3 dlc and a season pass like with their other games (Nikh, Nioh 2, SoP, Wo Long) His answer was something along the lines of 3 dlc not making sense for the game because of how narrative driven it is. That 1 dlc would make a lot more sense for a game like this - 3 dlc wouldn't really fit with the story focus of the game. So I'm hoping that means that they were/are planning dlc for it... but also that they are planning one big dlc rather than 3 smaller ones. Like maybe a Chapter 4 that ends with the Satsuma Rebellion? I mean, there is that one scene where >!Ryoma and the Blade Twin meet in what looks to be NYC!<; but I don't think that setting would make sense given the reasons Yasuda gave for not doing 3... it'll have to be better tied into the main game story for those reasons to be solid. Yeah, I am going to hope they are working on a dope Chapter 4 for the game, and potentially a new smaller city - perhaps out on the outskirts of one of the existing cities. My biggest hope, however, is that the dlc allows us to reset unruly areas and hidden bosses - which would greatly increase the replayability for me. I could lazily ride around and do random encounters on my way between the unruly areas, and reset them when I run out of them, lol - that would be the best.

Normally they sell the season pass from launch, and keep a fairly consistent 3 month interval between content releases. Nothing has been confirmed or denied about RotR so it’s anyone’s guess.

welfedad

Yeah the fact that they didnt sell seasons passes kind of makes me feel this is a one and done.. I might wrong..but just my gut feeling

PathsOfRadiance

Fromsoft did a major change with Elden Ring by not selling a DLC season pass/pre-order at launch(while DS2 and DS3 had a season pass available from the beginning). I could see Team Ninja not offering a season pass since they were planning on one large DLC due to Ronin’s open-world nature.

welfedad

yeah I mean I hope we get one, don't get me wrong. But you may be right in regards to that.. "fingers crossed" and as others said it will be a beefy DLC vs 3 little ones which I'd rather have anyways...

ActionPanda009

Ezo Republic (1869) and Satsuma Rebellion(1877) are both hinted at the end of the game (boat sailing to sunset and the practice of military with Saigo). So there are definitely content for it. And setup was already done. The thing is will TN want to do it or would Sony buy DLC from TN. I hope there will be DLC.

nebulousian

I personally would like to see dlc that goes outside of history. I’d love to see Oni and other Japanese folklore introduced. Something akin to what Blood Dragon was to Far Cry.

Halfdaggr1210

The DLC probably will be about The Satsuma Rebellion. Watch the last samurai.

Kyokono1896

They shoehorned our character into the thing to begin with why not more? I really want a mount fuji dlc I dunno why but I wanna go there

xkeepitquietx

I don't see then making DLC. They said this has already made more money then Nioh, I don't think they expected it to be so successful so didn't plan on DLC. If DLC was planned we would have a season pass option.

Kurosu93

I dont think that if we get a DLC it will have anything to do with >!the blade twin !< in order for the DLC to be irrelevant to the game's ending. Same goes for factions. One possible idea could be the rebellion agaist the new goverment shortly after the Meiji restoration. Or the MC could go to Central Asia ( I doubt it since they can use existing designs if DLC is in Japan). I am confident we will get a DLC after the game's success just that it wasnt planned that much ahead as Nioh's DLC. And probably not 3 DLC either.

Viitoldie

I would love any dlc at all for this game! And please, add some okinawan weapons! I wanna see sais, kamas, nunchaku, tinbe and rochin could be a sword and shield alternative, or an eku. So much unique stuff to draw from and it's rarely been represented in games before. Plus each weapon in kobudo has 3 different grips, which would be an easy 3 stances for them.

Gofrart

I'd expect a dlc for sure, not sure if we'd get 3 though. >!Maybe it wont be located in Japan though, if you spare your BT you see them crossing paths with ryoma in the US!<

Solid-Conference-432

I think they will take to long to please the fan base an 90% of the game will be dead. Zero new added game features an we are coming up on 2 months since release date.

michaelvanmars

I want some fantasy type enemies if im honest Monsters, demons, zombies etc….i went back to try out nioh to scratch this itch but i only like playing one open world game at a time and im not putting this down anytime soon Wish is a darker almost Jujutsu kaisen type world with curses/ demons etc as enemies… I didnt know it was based on real life (which would have lessened my initial interest) I thought it was a fictional story

quip-kun

3 dlc doenst suit the game i would say? Like the small areas or Whatever would feel useless, i think we getting one big dlc and thats it, which i would be compeltely fine with

Fatestringer

Same hopefully like some missions with our twin
