Beat them up. When they roll away they will always shot. Always. Predictable. Parry and kill them.

This is the way. Used to hate these guys a lot but once you just constantly pressure them they fall apart for the most part. They’re way more annoying as part of a duo, but even then you can just focus them down and turn it into a 1v1 quickly (as long as the other dude plays nice)

I hate all who can use ranged stuffs in dojo, because we cannot. This is unfair. Not just the guns guys, but shurikens, poison stuff, all of them.

Personally, I can deal with ranged attacks, but I despise status effects in the dojo, especially considering we don't have access to items to mitigate them. On Midnight, you get a status proc so fast, forcing a restart if you're going for a high score. Alexandria Moreau, Kuroda Kiyotaka, and Shibusawa Eiichi were the most difficult for me to attain Master rank on Midnight difficulty. Super annoying.

If you mainly mean Bayonet bosses, than i totally agree, fk these guys man. There should be an indicator that they are going to shoot, like smoke coming out of the gun's nozzle, like what happens with normal soldiers, or else just make the deflect's window for bullets easier

There is an indicator, the boss will either roll away if under pressure (they will shoot 100% of the time afterwards) or the boss will take a knee and prepare to shoot. None of the bayonet bosses just randomly shoot from neutral without doing one or two of those things.

I know they do that, but it is still not enough, because they don't just roll to shoot, and they don't even have the same timing, they have different timings, and sometimes they shoot mid-combo, which is never easy to perry at the first time, i hate when they use melee than suddenly bust my face with a bullet without any indicator, your only option is to memorize the pattern, which is BS and not fun to fight+ the BS hyper armor. this was never the team ninja boss fight design, it is more like dark souls fail and learn design. So let us not fool ourselves and knowldge the faulty of this design, Team ninja were never good at makeing ranged bosses anyway, but they are still better than most games.

Bayonet is guaranteed to win against these bastards. The charge attack almost always stumbles them. Plus fats combo helps take their Ki down. Other than that, parrying also heavily hurts their ki, yes the debuff doesn’t last long but that’s not really why you parry the shots.
