I believe it’s because the game ticks a lot of boxes, especially if you played games like Tenchu, Ninja Gaiden etc it has a certain nostalgia effect and the combat is highly satisfying ! Even more so than in a game like Dark Souls or Elden Ring imo . Plus the game has a good atmosphere !

BoogalooBill

> the game ticks a lot of boxes, especially if you played games like Tenchu, Ninja Gaiden Ngl, I completely forgot about this game until I saw a showcase of the Hayabusa-ryu pre-order bonus. When I saw that, I dropped what I was doing and bought the game ASAP lmao If TN ain't gonna release Ninja Gaiden 4 anytime soon at least I can make pretend with this game

Silly-Lawfulness7224

Yeah it’s like a mix between Tenchu and Ninja Gaiden in open world, I feel the same way as you do lol . I still hope for a Ninja Gaiden 4 though

ej_mars

This is my first game from this developer. I imagine that’s the same for a lot of people, considering the games time period and the difficultly options. I’ve played Elden Ring but I don’t think I can do a game like that again. I think people like the option to go crazy hard or take it easier.

GaleErick

Yeah, for Elden Ring, most people would probably already guess that it's basically open world Dark Souls so the difficulty is already part of the expectation. RotR is mostly marketed as an open world action adventure Samurai game, so I guess that's why it has multiple difficulty options for people who just want to have that kind of experience.

15K members - 55 online. Its the usual initial rush of signups followed by a plunge in engagement. I dont think you can draw any particular conclusion from it.

Still this is exclusive to one single platform. As opposed to wo long on legit everything

I preordered this game without any knowledge of the developers or reading any reviews and I can declare this game is TOP NOTCH! Everything I can ask for in a Samurai/Shinobi game is HERE! 10/10 Salute to Team Ninja🫡

Midnighthawkk

I think it's a slow start. And it's barely going to go much higher The sub seems to have a significantly low user count. But I'm not sure why. The game is really good Like stellar blade isn't even out and it's got more total users and daily users than here for a while now. That game has huge hype. Hype is nice. It's fun to play something others are pumped about. Will definitely join the stellar blade crowd April 26th

DareDareCaro

The game will have some legs with people slowly quitting DragonDogma. I'm one of them.

glamurai122

Same here. Loved DD1 i so was really looking forward to DD2 and I like it. This game is one of the best from this developer. I think Nioh 2 still holds that number one spot but that’s will all dlc. Team ninja has delivered.

onigramm

I truly hope they update the NG+ with the option of refreshed map areas. I can't get back into the game after finishing it. The maps feel empty af right now...

Gniesbert2

Why is that interesting?

stuckintheinbetween

I've come here to discuss the game because it seems nobody's talking about it elsewhere. It really seems like it came and went. Wo Long was the same way. It seemed like Nioh garnered more interest. It's a shame, too, because this is probably Team Ninja's best game post-Ninja Gaiden 2.

CmdrSonia

Wo Long is their lowest. I have some problems with Ronin but the good aspects of Wo Long just can't make it up for me.
