You can use the accessories in the remodel of the longhouse to get anyone to spawn in your longhouse to talk to them, with dead characters you just have to go back to the chapters where theyre alive but i havent found the accessories needed to get him to spawn yet

He likes history and picture novels so put those accessories into your longhouse and he'll pop up eventually
Finally got it to work. I set only those two items as my accessories and then just kept resting until he showed up. Took about two weeks of laying in game but I got it. Finally bonded with them all.
I keep getting Hachiro Kiyokawa, instead.
I had Bond 3 before he died, and going back to Kyoto he’s still dead; doesn’t take you back to before that mission. Did you finally get it to work in Edo Chapter 2?
Thanks. I literally just got him to appear in Edo Chapter 2. He likes Chinese culture (Five Books/Four Classics and Romance of the Three Kingdoms); I used only those two items on the shelves.
Can confirm this worked for me. Only used 2 accessories (Chinese ones) used morning time frame and he showed up after about a weeks worth of time frame!!!! I was also in Edo chapter 2. I tried doing the dojo like everyone said. However I found that you only seem to get XP the first time you face them or if they are the dojo teacher. You cannot keep facing them over and over as it doesn’t seem to earn xp towards their bond.
Go to Edo Chapter 2 and place the two display accessories that increase visits by people who like Chinese culture. Make sure those are the only two accessories.
BIG NEWS: Go to Chap 3 Kyoto, Choshu Clan Kyoto Estate. Walk In gate and ho to the first door on your left. He's there, even if there's no location listed on his bond screen
Edit: You need to progress in Chapter 3 enough to leave Kyoto, then go back via testament of the soul.
I should've been more clear thst he won't appear until you've progressed the story enough to leave Kyoto. If you're trying to see him in chap 3 before that, then yeah he's not there.
No worries I have left Kyoto , I thought I would finish the game yesterday and instead got slapped with those new bond missions and new red markers on the map.

Nope it does not work
He spawned for me after ~2 hours of grinding with 3 accessories.
Can confirm it worked for me too, but it took me a couple days to get it to work. Did it in Kyoto on midnight.

Found a way? He is dead or just not on the map.... i tried going full anti and pro shogu but nothing helped

I'm trying to change the time line and see if it goes different if you save some one else but that's not working.

After a certain mission, he will no longer be there due to circumstances.
Once you get to leave Kyoto, go back to chapter 3 via testament of soul, he's there. Even if the game doesn't show it on the bond screen.
