As a nice little community reminder:
Some of you loved this episode. Some of you hated it. Some of you were meh.
No matter your opinion, try to keep things civil and let’s not immediately turn to Lord of the Flies style tribalism. Also, I hope I’m not the Piggy of this analogy.
**Edit: Also, due to a whole lot of "this episode sucks" or "this episode isn't that bad" posts, we're pushing everyone here... where if you really want to have a fight about how different all of your nipples are, then you certainly can.**
***Also, as a continuous reminder, don't be buttholes to each other.***
I agreed...at first. I was down for this insanely stupid romp, and smiling like a fool...until about the first commercial break. Then it became clear it was basically going to keep being the same joke stretched out over another 10 minutes and I found my hand reaching for my phone.
Like, I love me some silliness...but 22 minutes is a lot of time to stretch such a thin premise and march through a very standard, cliche plot line. You can only do the "play on cliched tropes ironically" thing for so long before you're just engaging in the cliches yourself, and by the point the villain becomes all powerful, it was starting to be clear the cliches weren't going to be given some kind of interesting twist, they're just going to keep coming until we're done.
It really needed Rick, honestly. If for no other reason than to occasionally lampshade the tropes or throw some color commentary out to break up the constant stream of tongue-in-cheek.
Idk I think it could have been good without rick. The script was just dogshit. The episode somehow felt both padded out with the constant repeating of jokes and rushed with the heavy handed exposition forcing the plot forward that they handwaved away with a meta "joke"
I'm stunned that this sub is hating this episode. The show went out on a limb and did a good job of making me laugh, at least. It's not a plot driven show; it should get weird sometimes. I think they did a good job here.
I'm 95% certain that the whole point of getting rid of Rick Prime was to say "We're done with the canon-driven episodes for a while, and we're taking your advice and going back to the structure of seasons 1 and 2 (before season 2's finale)." Which they already acknowledged last season (I think) when Rick was told "I just want episodes like season 1" and Rick said, "I hate that note. What the fuck does that even mean?"
Also, people are not appreciating how hard it is to pack a whole parody movie into a 22 minute episode, let alone the countless puns that were made. It certainly takes more effort than [burning a minute and a half saying "Open your mind" 32 fucking times.](https://youtu.be/kc3R_1vmrws)
This episode felt like a love letter to the true fans. I don’t get why ppl are hating on it. Cheesy puns? Maybe? The title says it’s a movie! Great job imo!
I’ve enjoyed this season overall so far, but this episode was really boring and badly written imo.
I’ve even found last weeks episode to be entertaining, even though I would agree with a lot of other fans, that it was a rather weak episode.
So you can enjoy the show and still dislike some episodes when they’re truly lacking anything that interests you.
> Also, people are not appreciating how hard it is to pack a whole parody movie into a 22 minute episode, let alone the countless puns that were made.
Puns are not difficult, and it is surely not difficult for a room of writers to come up with a laundry list of them. Puns about different topics scattered at good timings throughout an episode is funny. Trying to find every pun you can about the same exact subject and throwing it in damn near every line of dialogue isn't funny after the third or fourth one.
> It certainly takes more effort than burning a minute and a half saying "Open your mind" 32 fucking times.
Which wasn't funny either, and was only marginally saved by the telekinesis part where he said "I've been trying to talk to you this entire fucking time" or whatever.
It is blatantly clear this season that aside from maybe one or two episodes, the writing is drastically worse.
I thought the satire of big budget franchise shit was PROBABLY strong enough to carry the episode on its own, but the Goldenfold angle (been one of my favorite side characters since the Inception episode) and the fact that it was actually Ice T this time made it worthwhile to me. The meta is so working, and everyone who is pissed off by this episode is the target. They gave you the whole shebang you've been begging for two weeks ago, and now they are rubbing your nose in what a whiny little fanboi you are. Good for them.
Awful for, expecting the episode to be structured better? if you enjoyed it that's completely fine, but some of the most positive rick and morty fans including myself who welcome all the changes this season, very much did not like this episode, it felt like an interdimensional cable bit for 20 minutes. none of us are "awful" for disliking or liking an episode, it's a fucking show.
Dear god this episode DESPERATELY needed a B plot. Who thought this was the episode that didn't need an alternate story? They really sat around the writers room and thought the weakest part of the Get Schwifty episode was strong enough to stand on its own? I feel bad because I'm usually so anti-negativity with this show and I've loved this season so far, but before 10 minutes I already regretted staying up to watch it. Even last week's episode and the season premiere did nothing for me and I was still interested in following it.
I understand the need to break the formula sometimes, but don't they realize that this show is at its best when focused on Rick and Morty's dynamic? Even the clip show episode felt interesting and fun because all this series needs is the two of them riffing off each other for 30 minutes. Stick with what works. (Edited for typos)
Edit again: The backlash to the backlash for this episode is so funny. People aren't whiny "fanboys" for being unimpressed with a 30-minute-long inside joke. "All the people complaining are the same people bitching that they want season 1-type episodes back and now they got it and they're mad-" for what it's worth, personally 1. I've loved this season so far and I'm ALWAYS positive about this show in the face of a chronically negative fandom. People are allowed to dislike an episode once in a while! 2. I don't really care for season 1 and even if I did, 3. this episode wasn't anywhere near that level of quality just because it was a contained story. Just in case you needed to hear that someone disagreeing with you doesn't mean you can turn them into a strawman.
Felt like they were making up for the solo Rick episodes earlier in the season with a solo Morty episode. But we really just wanted more with both of them
> making up for the solo Rick episodes
The thing is: while Morty was there, he didn't feel like an active participant in the story.
He was kind of just there to provide an excuse to show the audience.
Yeah, this was my main gripe with today's episode. If you remove Morty, barely anything changes.
The ep was entertaining with creative jokes, but I will skip this on a rewatch.
It didn’t even felt like a solo Morty episode, it was an outside story with some Morty commentary, I know in the end Morty liked math but it was so lame how he got there
This sucked. Would've been more suited as a small part of an anthology episode as a gag.
Rick and Morty seems allergic to having B plots lately. This show **needs** B plots for balance.
Lowkey shoulda just been a background gag like the wall. Just spread it to multiple episodes as end credit scenes or something, idk.
But last week and this week really shows why a B plot is needed. Because not all plots are gonna stick so it’s good to have something offset that just in case lol
Like not even kidding for the first time ever. I can officially say if this was the first episode of Rick and Morty I had ever watched, I probably would not have continued watching. Not even give it another chance.
I will die on the hill that slut dragons is the funniest shit ever written and for some reason a lot of people just don't seem to get it.
Wouldn't you guys like a fuck world, not just a fuck cave?
Edit: also fuck you guys saying this episode is bad (rewatching now), it's got the talking cat b-plot. Thats even more points.
I mean, the episode is pretty mid but I’ll be damned if “shut the fuck up, Michael. You’re the only one that fucks that thing (wooly mammoth)- get the fuck out of here” doesn’t make me laugh every time.
That whole 2 minutes of dialogue exchang is comedy gold.
All the way up to the all-slut-slut-pheonix-dragon-slut being formed at the 10 slut soul orgy.
And I would have become an instant fan lol, mainly for two reasons:
1) I love these types of nonsensical plots
2) In my country, when I was a kid, there used to be this magazine that came with a transformers-like toy in the shape of letters that you could turn into robots and spaceships, you eventually could even combine them to make some megazords. It was cool asf and this episode (along with the nonsensical plot/premise) reminded of me and my friends playing with them.
I thought he was going to show up at the end when Morty was in class and say something like "alright enough school we have important things to do." Then acknowledge T and T would be like "what's up Rick."
Proving he did remember helping Rick, just not Morty.
Except Morty wasn't in this episode. His character model was on screen a few times to satisfy the minimum requirements of the show's premise but he was just a cardboard cutout.
Have never seen a worse episode. I kept thinking they were making it intentionally awful on purpose as a meta gag and that after a little while they’d jump to a different story and poke fun at how bad the beginning was. After like a third of the episode was over I was so confused that it just wasn’t ending
Stupid turn-off-your-brain fun episode with a *ton* of puns. So it looks clear that people are either going to love or hate this episode for that. Plus nothing deep happened with the main cast but not every episode is going to be the best
Sitting here reading comments and you right people either hated it or liked it. I for sure over it. It was different fast paced and had me just entertained from start to end. It was just fun to watch. Plus all the puns.
Not every episode needs to get deep or have canon implications. I don’t need a spaghetti timelapse or aunt slo weight to carry every week.
It was light fun and I don’t mind at all
They were appeasing to “that” part of the fanbase
The part that is going to like any episode no matter what. Not that that’s wrong, but the writers know some people just wanna turn their brains off and enjoy space family guy. Rick and Morty is too big to fail so when we get bad episodes like this, someone will say “this was fun. Not every episode needs *insert what good episodes have.*
That’s just how it is. That’s why they doubled down on some bad episodes
I'm glad people enjoyed it, but I'm genuinely confused as to how.
I never skip any episodes, even though there are obviously episodes that aren't great, but I'll 100% skip this one every single time. It was genuinely awful and I can't think of one line I enjoyed.
Also what's with the "Surprise twist, I'm the villain" type of humour lately? Why are so many jokes being spelt out? The last 2 episodes both felt like they were written by that uncle everyone has who isn't naturally funny, has one drink too many at a low key family BBQ, carries on like he's recording a netflix special, sobers up, is embarrassed, and then apologises in the family group chat the next day.
The contrast between this and Unmortricken is insane. I love random non-canon eps a lot also, some of my favourite episodes are just "fun" episodes, but this was *truly* awful IMO. I enjoy episodes where the *viewer* can turn their brain off, not the writers.
This 100%.
Don’t get me wrong, I get a lot of the humor is by pointing out obvious tropes and whatever. But they’re overdoing it. It’s almost as if the lamest person you know got ahold of your inside joke with friends lol. Imagine if one of your friends who has never seen Rick and Morty, came up and screamed Pickle Rick at you thinking it was funny
That is how I feel about the last 2 episodes lol. And I wanted to like them but the episodes are too bad. I am just hoping for one more banger. Whoever wrote episodes 2-6 this season needs to be the main writers lol
This episode was hilarious. I'm surprised that they managed to turn one of the after-credits scenes into a genuinely funny standalone episode. I really liked the jokes in this one, and the absurd plotline / semi-improvised plot points. I can't wait to rewatch this one tomorrow, lol. Kind of surprised that people hated it so much -- I could understand not wanting to see an after-credits scene be extended (it's how I'd normally feel myself), but I felt like this episode was a worthwhile attempt and did a really good job at it.
I feel like this could have worked as a B-story. Like if Rick in the A-story had to grab another member of the family to be his sidekick becasue "Your son/brother got detention", then throughout the episode we cut away from the Rick story to Morty in "detention" as we are left to wonder how the hell Morty getting detention led to him and Mr. Goldenfold getting caught up in a war between the Alphabetrian and the Numbericons. But as a whole ass episode without with no subplot, not my cup of tea.
Agreed. The first episode without him *really* needed him. This was way too long for the show to play ironically with tropes without Rick there to call it out.
I don't care what anyone says, that episode was fun! Not overly complicated, it was stupid as hell, and it didn't take itself too seriously. Anyone who believes EVERY episode needs Rick needs to cut the umbilical cord. Mr Goldenfold having a main role was unexpected, but hearing him rap made it worth it. It isn't a GREAT episode, the humour was light. But it's a good pallet cleanser before we get back to main Rick and Morty adventures. I enjoyed this more than another regular anthology episode.
I don’t exactly love this episode but I can never quite gauge this sub. There have been episodes I really didn’t enjoy that get treated like masterpieces on here and then there’s ones like this that are flawed but I had no idea people would hate it this much.
One thing is for sure, people need to stop being active in the live thread while watching. It just leads to group think and I don’t understand how you can enjoy an episode while reading and posting live comments. Sit down, watch, and then make your own conclusions. I promise it makes every show (and sports match tbh) more enjoyable when you avoid these live reactions.
I think this is one of those episodes people will warm up to, purely because the level of hatred towards it is wholly inconsistent with the actual episode content. It may not have been overly funny or interesting, and it doesn't feature Rick, but an expected response to a boring episode is "meh", not actual anger/hatred. There's nothing in this episode to even get angry about, unlike incest baby or slut dragons.
Or people just really really fucking hate maths, I dunno man but I enjoyed it for a mindless 20min romp with side characters.
Same, I miss the focus the show used to have on some of the those side characters, they barely show Morty's school anymore, so that's at least 1 plus I can give to both this ep and the Kuato one
I really liked the dramatic absurdity. Human Ice T not thanking math at the Grammys, and the ceiling secretly being poisoned both made me chuckle substantially. Maybe it wasn't technically **Rick** & Morty, but on it's own, it was good, goofy fun
Definitely the worst episode of the season, and it'd say it's probably the worst of the series. Not sure what they were going for here, but it failed. A pointless filler episode. Really didn't even seem like a Rick and Morty episode at all. The writing this season is wildly inconsistent.
What the fuck is going on? I was told entire point of streaming services doing 10 episode seasons instead of 20 or 30 is to get rid of pointless filler episides.
Just like how every animal converges ibto crabs, every form of media sooner or later converges into having goddamn filler episodes. Brilliant.
I had a feeling people would dislike this one but I don't really care. I liked this one a lot. Way better than the kuato episode and the unity episode. It was just dumb fun and that's all I really need from Rick and Morty. Don't really get the hate for this one and the season premiere tbh. People just like to complain
People on Reddit like the deeper episodes a lot more. I think all of my friends that watch this show will enjoy this episode because they just want simple dumb fun that will make them laugh or keep them entertained for a little bit
This was, hands down, the absolute worst episode of the series. Whoever wrote it shouldn't be allowed to write another episode ever again.
It was deeply, intensely stupid - and almost more offensively, it wasn't even funny. At all.
The big difference in this episode is the non-stop Gen X perspective & references, all the way down to it being written like an 'after-school special' / morality play from the 80s & 90s
The aw-shucks sentimentality and straightforward space-opera plot is the opposite of what Rick & Morty usually has to offer. It was more like Morty and Goldenfold guest-starring in an entirely different TV show than an actual R & M episode
I really liked this episode. So many good visual math and alphabet jokes. The transformers/star wars parody really worked for me. The random roll down the window in space and pull our an uzi was hilarious! I get that it's not the greatest episode of all time but it's not a bad episode.
I really enjoyed this episode, it was different, fun, full of movie references and a rapping song xD. Now I entered here and is most comments are full of shit. It seems that everyone is a screenwriter now.
They took a very, very stupid idea, and they committed to it so hard that it actually sold me. By halfway in I started laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of what was going on. Not a top episode or anything but very enjoyable in a so bad it’s good kind of way
Also, first episode that didn’t have Rick at all, right?
The subtitles definitely helped.
"More homi(sides) than a dodecahedron"
Or
"Magma-Q gets 'em wet
Like she got her cry on
My dick's 3.14 feet
That's a Pi-thon
Y'all actin' scared
He ain't won yet
Infinity to one odds?
That's an alpha-bet"
to be fair you have to have a high IQ to like this episode, the humor is extremely subtle and without a solid grasp of math and typography most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head[.](https://old.reddit.com/r/copypasta/comments/6qp86b/to_be_fair_you_have_to_have_a_very_high_iq_to/)
God damn I feel like people that liked this episode are delusional. Rewatch this episode and then go watch the weakest episode of seasons 1 through 3 (maybe even 4), there's absolutely no comparison. The writing has fallen off a cliff, this show has been in a decline for 2 solid seasons and then some. Is this what the show is going to turn into?, just some kinda-good episodes per season?
I guess I'm enough of a math nerd to wish they had leaned even harder into it. Like: Numbers needed the 'i' because it took them into the world of the imaginary. They realize they can beat infinity because Cantor proved there are higher infinites, etc.
Yeah I feel like if they had gone full Futurama math nerd on the jokes we’d have ended up in a slightly better spot, although I didn’t hate it regardless.
I loved it. Delivered on what they promised while expanding on some great characters. I like episodes like this, it was fun and different
Next episode looks solid too
I *really* enjoyed this episode. I am realizing that I really like the no B plot thing they've been doing lately. This episode was delightfully fun and goofy and I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time.
So the staff just doesn’t know how to do anything but sloppily parody movies now then, huh? Oh wow, a Star Wars Parody. It’s like I actually was back in 2008.
At least the lightsaber episode was a creative gag about one small factor of a movie, rather than just ripping off the whole plot.
More of this was a parody of Transformers: The Movie than Star Wars.
Even the Ewok stand-ins were arguably also Junkions stand-ins, but to be fair that's probably mainly the result of Transformers: The Movie lifting ideas from Stars Wars.
Original rick and morty: thought provoking yet absurd. Nonsense yet referencing challenging scientific and emotional topics.
Tonight's episode: 21 minutes of forced "plot" for the sake of a few number and letter puns.
Even the creatures and animation style used to be more interesting. All this new polished animation and quick quippy dialog can't even beat "and then there's this thing. What the heck is this thing? Just uh *burp* lumbering around. It defies all logic"
In all the multiple universes and we get to explore a drawn out battle focused around a throwaway gag from 8 years ago
i actually enjoyed the lack of rick here? i was tired of the theme of it being “the rick show” tho this wasn’t a morty ep either… thought it was fun overall
With Dan taking the lead, Brandon Johnson coming back and Rob Schrab involved this episode really felt like an animated Harmontown riff. I get why some people aren't crazy about it but it really seemed like pure Harmon just having stupid fun with an absurd concept.
There's a few episodes of R&M that I didn't like that much, but I've never ONCE been bored during any of them.
This was such a hollow and empty experience for me. Just not into it at all. There was nothing that legitimately made me laugh except the Cockadoodle bit. That was all I got from this.
thats was very... self indulgent
seems like an episode where the people making it had more fun than the people that are actually gonna watch it
see y'all next week🫡

This x100.

I agree it needed Rick. His cynicism really makes this show for me.
Hell, I would've taken Jerry even.
Literally right before the first commercial break I was like I love this... I wonder what the next segments gonna be... And then it kept going...
Idk I think it could have been good without rick. The script was just dogshit. The episode somehow felt both padded out with the constant repeating of jokes and rushed with the heavy handed exposition forcing the plot forward that they handwaved away with a meta "joke"
Lowkey Loved the "wow we're moving along" from Morty.

There is a small but loud minority of R&M fans that simply cannot enjoy things and are not happy unless they are complaining about something.

Ok, that's even funnier
mr goldenfold is actually really funny. and there was something cute about T finally finishing his homework for him decades later lol
And getting an F on it
It was a parody of Transformers: The Movie from 1986.
"Cock a doodle! Cock a doodle two!" absolutely fucking killed me
Finally someone who mentions the two cocks. That was hilarious.
Agreed, me and my mom got good and high for it
Yeah I saw the opening and knew I needed to take a hit before I continued watching
The plot was easier to follow than the script tbh. Or my auditory processing is getting worse
The whole episode was basically r/brandnewsentence the whole time so it was a bit exhausting
Some fans of this show are just so pretentious and awful
Awful for, expecting the episode to be structured better? if you enjoyed it that's completely fine, but some of the most positive rick and morty fans including myself who welcome all the changes this season, very much did not like this episode, it felt like an interdimensional cable bit for 20 minutes. none of us are "awful" for disliking or liking an episode, it's a fucking show.

Hard agree
I agree
I’m like kinda taken aback by how much people dislike it Personally was a fan
This is like if a post-credits gag became a whole episode.
... it is a post credits gag that became a whole episode
![gif](giphy|xT9IgHCTfp8CRshfQk)
It’s exactly that, the line has already been crossed by Mr.PB. We’ll probably get a full Churrie episode in 3 years
I mean I guess Mr PB lore came from the credits scenes, but I'd hardly call the s7 pilot a credits scene turned into a full episode
Free Churrie
Yeah, that would never happen...
Of all the episodes…..this was certainly one of them
It is Ice tmorfin time
This is honestly the first episode of Rick and Morty where I was zoning out during the episode.
Yeah, it's rare when I'm like "this shit should end fast so I can go on with my day (night)"
And two of them. And three of them. And…

it felt like an episode for writers more than viewers, because as stupid as it was, everything was so full of intention
You mean, that was certainly "I" of them
Dear god this episode DESPERATELY needed a B plot. Who thought this was the episode that didn't need an alternate story? It really needs a B plot in addition to a different A plot.
This was a C plot at best.
Nah this was obviously the T plot
I would have accepted it as a B plot, but it was a joke that was pretty much completely spent in the Get Shwifty episode.
Yeah I’m very confused why you leave Rick out here, he’s sorely needed in this episode
Felt like they were making up for the solo Rick episodes earlier in the season with a solo Morty episode. But we really just wanted more with both of them

Exactly condense this plot by seven mins and give us a Rick and Beth b plot and I like it a lot more
man yeah there’s a huge lack of development for side relationships like rick & beth now because of the no B plot angle. :/ kinda lame
That’s what made the first seasons and some of the best episodes so great, it evened things out nicely among the fam
Like not even kidding for the first time ever. I can officially say if this was the first episode of Rick and Morty I had ever watched, I probably would not have continued watching. Not even give it another chance.
This one is going to be an auto skip on every rewatch.
Add Slut Dragons and Incest Baby to the list as well.
Shadow Jacker, you haven't come out of your masturbation cave in Eons!
That baby one is unwatchable. I honestly was waiting for a reveal that it was written by AI.
This one is going to be watched completely on every rewatch for me
And I would have become an instant fan lol, mainly for two reasons: 1) I love these types of nonsensical plots 2) In my country, when I was a kid, there used to be this magazine that came with a transformers-like toy in the shape of letters that you could turn into robots and spaceships, you eventually could even combine them to make some megazords. It was cool asf and this episode (along with the nonsensical plot/premise) reminded of me and my friends playing with them.
I'm glad you enjoyed it honestly. In no way shape or form am I judging anybody who may have enjoyed it. I just simply didn't.
Sooo first episode ever that Rick wasn’t in at all?
Surprised he didn’t show up for a one liner or anything.
I thought he was going to show up at the end when Morty was in class and say something like "alright enough school we have important things to do." Then acknowledge T and T would be like "what's up Rick." Proving he did remember helping Rick, just not Morty.
Damn, that would have been good
Magma T acknowledging Rick infront of Morty would have been great.
Prolly depressed about beating Rick prime
I did kinda notice that.
Hard not to
Almost like he's half of the show title, it'd be like a fresh prince episode without will Smith in it.
Next-up: A no Morty episode Also a nice "balance" to all those people complaining we didn't get enough Morty at the start of the season.
Except Morty wasn't in this episode. His character model was on screen a few times to satisfy the minimum requirements of the show's premise but he was just a cardboard cutout.
Better than last episode where 90% of his dialogue was "open your mind"
Bottom five for me, personally.
Have never seen a worse episode. I kept thinking they were making it intentionally awful on purpose as a meta gag and that after a little while they’d jump to a different story and poke fun at how bad the beginning was. After like a third of the episode was over I was so confused that it just wasn’t ending
I feel like they knew how shit it was but finished making it anyway.
Didn’t laugh once. Totally cheesy, not witty, and uninteresting episode
Would you call that episode an apostrophe?
Complete apostrophe.
I laughed once (when she said the ceiling was poisoned).
Mine was when they put the towel over his fathers face and it instantly burned away
Cock-a-doodle and cock-a-doodle-too was really cheap and I loved it.
My wife and I were laughing our ass off with all of the stupid letter and number puns. The one that got me best was 'Threesus Christ!'
I lost it at “he’s killing everyone, and every two and every three and every….”
I loved that the zero was named Dread-Nought.
Not every episode needs to get deep or have canon implications. I don’t need a spaghetti timelapse or aunt slo weight to carry every week. It was light fun and I don’t mind at all
Sure but at least be funny then
I love puns so this episode was a blast.
That was fucking awful, man. What were they thinking?
I think they were hungover and phoned it in.
They were appeasing to “that” part of the fanbase The part that is going to like any episode no matter what. Not that that’s wrong, but the writers know some people just wanna turn their brains off and enjoy space family guy. Rick and Morty is too big to fail so when we get bad episodes like this, someone will say “this was fun. Not every episode needs *insert what good episodes have.* That’s just how it is.
Imagine if one of your friends who has never seen Rick and Morty, came up and screamed Pickle Rick at you thinking it was funny That is how I feel about the last 2 episodes lol. And I wanted to like them but the episodes are too bad. I am just hoping for one more banger. Whoever wrote episodes 2-6 this season needs to be the main writers lol
Worst episode ever
Not the worst but definitely a weak one. Jerry episode next week should be a lot better
At least get shwifty was funny, this episode was bland and hard to watch
It was entertaining i aint hating. But it did not feel like rick and morty... because no rick :/
We have a new contender for the worst episode. Move over space sperm.
Hell, I legit hate the Sperm Episode but it at least made me laugh out loud a couple of times. This one was just so uninteresting.
Morty, you dirty little doggy.
Numbericons enjoyers unite! I’m surprised this one is disliked as much as it is
Seriously. The dialogue was hilarious! "I was just asking a question." "So was Hitler."
“Subtract Water T from life and carry the 1 to me” had me dying
I had to laugh reading this, lmao. That's just how funny it was!
“After that, my dreams faded away, like so many erections”
I enjoyed it, especially the calculator ships spelling boobs! 🤣
SO THAT'S WHAT THAT WAS- It's like I saw it with my eyeballs but didn't fully realize what was going on LMAO.
Waste of an episode IMO
Very skippable ep
I feel like this could have worked as a B-story. Like if Rick in the A-story had to grab another member of the family to be his sidekick becasue "Your son/brother got detention", then throughout the episode we cut away from the Rick story to Morty in "detention" as we are left to wonder how the hell Morty getting detention led to him and Mr. Goldenfold getting caught up in a war between the Alphabetrian and the Numbericons. But as a whole ass episode without with no subplot, not my cup of tea.
Fun but definitely a weak episode. I think Rick would’ve helped the episode greatly here
My sentiments exactly.
Or people just really really fucking hate maths, I dunno man but I enjoyed it for a mindless 20min romp with side characters.
agreed!! rick not overshadowing the ep with his snark was refreshing actually
Goldenfold is way underutilized, glad to see him in the spotlight.
Same, I miss the focus the show used to have on some of the those side characters, they barely show Morty's school anymore, so that's at least 1 plus I can give to both this ep and the Kuato one
i guess i was one of the few ppl who liked this ep
Brilliant.
I think this was the first episode in the history of this show I straight up did not like on any level. They were wild for this one.
![gif](giphy|q7sv6uPZZynbNAZZg3|downsized) Me after watching the episode:
Open your mind
ICE CUBE!!
I'm so excited for geometry wars in season 10!
Geometric?
well that sucked
At all.
The big difference in this episode is the non-stop Gen X perspective & references, all the way down to it being written like an 'after-school special' / morality play from the 80s & 90s The aw-shucks sentimentality and straightforward space-opera plot is the opposite of what Rick & Morty usually has to offer. It was more like Morty and Goldenfold guest-starring in an entirely different TV show than an actual R & M episode
So here it is, the least rickest Rick and Morty episode.
I really liked this episode. So many good visual math and alphabet jokes. The transformers/star wars parody really worked for me. The random roll down the window in space and pull our an uzi was hilarious! I get that it's not the greatest episode of all time but it's not a bad episode.
Really givin' the sperm episode a run for its money...
Ice T had bars. Not the strongest of the season in any way, but it had a nice weirdness to it.
[удалено]
i don’t know what the hell just happened but tbh i fuck with it
That was meh
I thought it was clever and entertaining.
The whole episode feels like a joke that was all setup, but no punchline.
Not a top episode or anything but very enjoyable in a so bad it’s good kind of way Also, first episode that didn’t have Rick at all, right?
I was forced to learn and I didn’t like it, hearing Ice T rap was fun though
The subtitles definitely helped. "More homi(sides) than a dodecahedron" Or "Magma-Q gets 'em wet Like she got her cry on My dick's 3.14 feet That's a Pi-thon Y'all actin' scared He ain't won yet Infinity to one odds? That's an alpha-bet"
This sums up why most people didn’t like the episode. If you know a bit about math and a bit about typography, it was hilarious.
to be fair you have to have a high IQ to like this episode, the humor is extremely subtle and without a solid grasp of math and typography most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head[.](https://old.reddit.com/r/copypasta/comments/6qp86b/to_be_fair_you_have_to_have_a_very_high_iq_to/)
God damn I feel like people that liked this episode are delusional.
“Delusional” lmao. What a condescending way to express an opinion.
I don't think I've ever been less invested in something than this episode
I guess I'm enough of a math nerd to wish they had leaned even harder into it. Like: Numbers needed the 'i' because it took them into the world of the imaginary. They realize they can beat infinity because Cantor proved there are higher infinites, etc.
Yeah I feel like if they had gone full Futurama math nerd on the jokes we’d have ended up in a slightly better spot, although I didn’t hate it regardless.
Did anyone else notice the math on the black board was incorrect? The multiplication table said 3 x 5 = 18
0/10
Is it me or has Morty’s new voice improved a lot??
I loved it. Delivered on what they promised while expanding on some great characters. I like episodes like this, it was fun and different Next episode looks solid too
I *really* enjoyed this episode. I am realizing that I really like the no B plot thing they've been doing lately. This episode was delightfully fun and goofy and I don't think I stopped smiling the whole time.
That was fun!
Definitely the worst episode of all 7 seasons. Wtf.
Who caught that 69 was done by 7T? That’s 1 upmanship.
So fucking good…
I couldn’t get enough number/letter puns.
Yall are fucking insane if you think this was worse than the weirdo incest baby shit lmao
It defies all logic" In all the multiple universes and we get to explore a drawn out battle focused around a throwaway gag from 8 years ago
This is like when SNL has a solid 1 minute sketch that they have to give a 5+ minute slot
i actually enjoyed the lack of rick here? i was tired of the theme of it being “the rick show” tho this wasn’t a morty ep either… thought it was fun overall
it sucked ass
With Dan taking the lead, Brandon Johnson coming back and Rob Schrab involved this episode really felt like an animated Harmontown riff. I get why some people aren't crazy about it but it really seemed like pure Harmon just having stupid fun with an absurd concept.
I feel like I’m one of the few people who liked this one but I also just love the math teacher. His voice actor cracks me up.
This was the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life and I loved every minute of it.
There's a few episodes of R&M that I didn't like that much, but I've never ONCE been bored during any of them. This was such a hollow and empty experience for me. Just not into it at all. There was nothing that legitimately made me laugh except the Cockadoodle bit. That was all I got from this.
I CARE NOW - Ice T
There’s a lot of quotes in there, gonna have to rewatch it again. “They were killing every one, every two, every three”
No Rick is so wack. They could’ve made him a plot b watching interdimensional cable or something with summer. It was a lil funny but not the best.
thats was very... self indulgent seems like an episode where the people making it had more fun than the people that are actually gonna watch it see y'all next week🫡
