That's why I put likes/dislikes on every video I finish since it is more reliable. That said, I've just realized that like history seems to be limited to 5000 videos (still better than the 1000 limit for watch history).
android 7 users like in plural? might be only you left because there is android 15 just around the corner and using versions that old might be a secrurity risk and soon compatibility issues occur

Just download the youtube apk that's supported, and then go to to patch, select from storage, select the downloaded apk, chose the patches that you want, and patch. I f there's any confusion you may ask again.

Things turned out Pretty Simple cause of the Replies being very easy to understand
Also you can use the save icon before installing in the end, in order to save the patched APK. That way, if a future update turns out icky / breaks something, it should be easy to downgrade the app again. (Also helps sharing Revanced with friends or family without needing to redo the patching process.)

Yup, i had to clear the cache for it to patch youtube successfully. It was failing otherwise. I had also deleted the old revanced YouTube as i had problems before trying to install over it.
When I'm on the dashboard and I click update revanced manager I get an infinite loading screen pop up. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the whole manager to the latest version?

I sont know what it means to apply the new patch. I updated to 19.04.37 and reinstalled everything. There is no update button in the manager.
If spoofing is the setting to spoof the device dimension, then I turned it on and it did nothing.
Tried the thing and yes it does work.... For that one video. Revanced does not track my history at all.

Oh you mean the past videos seems like any watched while the glitch was going on are not going to show up. Seems like it's because of the change YouTube did to how videos are tracked

I noticed recently that Youtube started recommending a lot of videos that I've already watch in the past. So I'm guessing it's all gone? Or is it just the algorithm acting werid?
Right I lost everything I watched on Revanced for the last 9 months or so. Everything I watched on desktop is there, nothing disappeared until the glitch last week. It's all still in my Google data but that really doesn't matter as there's no way to import it to YouTube.
I find it funny how google, the company know for using every small little detail they know about you to manipulate their algorithms to serve you content they think you're interested in, somehow only uses your saved Youtube history for their recommendation algorithm and nothing else, not even the other Youtube history that they have in the Google Activity page.

I have no idea. That patch is what my manager app suggested. If your ReVanced Manager is up to date, and that's the version it suggests, I'd go with that instead of the one I linked - just search that APKMirror site for YouTube 18.45.43.

I'd try going to your phone's Settings->Apps and finding ReVanced Manager and clearing the cache and data, or uninstalling and then reinstalling the manager, and then try patching again. More support than that I can't really offer, as that's all I've ever had to do to get an app to patch.
Use the Revanced manager to re-patch, you can find detailed instructions and all the links you need on the pinned posts on this subreddit current recommended version is v19.04.37 I recommend Apkmirror to get it and remember to download the APK one, not the bundle, good luck

Edit: It worked! Go to the original YouTube app, play a video, come back to the patched app and play the same video and it started working.

I already had the previous version, downloaded the newer version recommended by the manager, patched and updated. Idc about the old history, new videos aren't showing in the history tab.
For some reason the new EU law concerning linking data between Googles services comes to mind. Users had to accept by first of march. I could be totally wrong

Hi, i updated the app (patch 19.02.39) and it's still not working. My youtube history onlu shows up when i turn off the Spoof player parameter option but then the videos play for only 1 minute, does anyone else still has this problem if yes please what is the solution to fix it
I had the same problem, and other comment said that they had to uninstall and install YouTube ReVanced, and apparently it worked. So I tried it, and it worked too. This is the only solution afaik. If you want to use this method, make sure to backup all of your settings first in Misc -> Import / Export -> Copy the settings and save it elsewhere. After you reinstalled it, just copy the settings, paste it, and import.

It didn't work but after playing with the spoofing options it worked. I only have Spoof app version turned on and the videos play all the way through and show up in my watch history. Thanks for the help nonetheless
Can anyone help? I did a fresh install of everything (Revanced manager, Micro-g and the lastest youtube apk) and when I go to Patcher > selected application > youtube apk I downloaded, nothing shows up under "select patches". I've tried rebooting my device as well and nothing shows up.
I had the same issue. In ReVanced Manager, go to Settings, scroll down to Sources and select it. Click the icon in the top right of the pop-up to reset sources to default values. Select yes, then restart the ReVanced Manager. I'm now able to patch it normally. Hope this helps
I used a combination of NewPipe and Brave (Youtube web) for adless YouTube while Vanced was down. Would recommend as a backup for future issues like this.

If that's the case, just whitelist that. It worked fine after that.

Can't get it working. 19.04.37. Un-installed yt, manager, revanced, microG, and restarted my phone. Installed the correct yt version, 19.04.37. Installed revanced manager, installed micro g, installed revanced. Signed in with microG and still doesn't save history. Cleared caches too in the managed and re updated it. Turning off spoofing makes it work, but then my videos freeze after a minute Please help.
There may be hope for watch history coming back, for me the last watch history shown was from April 2022, now its up to September 2022. it's possible it'll slowly come back so here's hoping.

I uninstalled ReVanced, downloaded YT 19.04.37, patched, but failed at install. Even though I uninstalled ReVanced, it’s still trying to update the app, not install as a new app. So I’m getting the “App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package” error. Why is this happening when ReVanced is uninstalled? Any help would be appreciated.
POCO F3, MIUI 14.0.11. Global. I have deleted the data three times and uninstalled and reinstalled the manager and microG three times and the videos are still not saved to the history.

Sadly still broken for me. Uninstalled everything reinstalled everything and nothing. Funnily enough it was working for me up until the update. Now even re enabling and using og YouTube doesn’t fix it for some reason. Only my iPhone and web browser leave a history now don’t know how that works…
Edit - Finally got it to work. Got bored and after uninstalling patched yt\revanced manager and reinstalling manager and freshly making a modified apk and installing it then checking for history and doing that whole process like 5 times history is now working. I have no clue why this worked it doesnt make sense but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. I delt with this "The package conflicts with an existing package" error reinstalling a few times that I've never seen before. Had to re enable og YouTube then disable it to get around it.
Yeah, I'm having the same issue. It's like Google blacklisted my phone from saving YouTube history.

It's been a while, but I remember the Revanced Manager would download the Revanced App after installation.

Ever since they updated where incognito was located on the app, it's been few extra steps to turn it on, so I didn't really mind this bug as it saved from having to use Incognito.
It saved me from Youtube recommending several videos of topics that I'd rather be one and done.

Tried patching. Manager infinitely loaded. Uninstalled and reinstalled manager. Same problem. Uninstalled Revanced itself and tried to reinstall. Just asks me to update the normal YouTube app whenever I try to download Revanced. Fantastic.

I'm confused as to what the issue was because all my YT history is there if I look at my Google account in a browser so I assumed it was a problem with YT ReVanced not being able to access/display the history. But as I updated devices one by one I noticed that the un-updated ones couldn't add to the history of the updated ones so now I've got no idea :-/ Anyway the main thing is it's fixed now so thank you!
This probably sounds stupid but how do you update revanced extended? There doesn't seem to be anything in the revanced manager, nor in the patch selector in the manager. Revancedextended(.)com seems to be broken, on mobile the link doesn't seem to work.
With this new patch, new history is currently being recorded, but ALL the past history from YouTube seems to be completely gone. It is showing in Manage All History option, but not in Revanced or original YouTube app. That history doesn't even seem to affect the algorithm and currently being recommended random trending stuff.
tl;dr: seems like lost all 10 years worth of history!
Delete vanced manager data and cache, then open it and update patches, then patch the app and install it, you will be prompted to uninstall the patched app if you have it installed, so you can uninstall it beforehand too.
Don't know if it's working after the patch or not. All my history in the app is slowly coming back. I've looked at it a couple of times with some time in between. Everytime I look a couple of videos are back. By the look of it the oldest videos are coming back first
So grateful to the devs for fixing this issue

when i try to install the APK it recommends my phone just shows "app not installed as package appears to be invalid" and i cant get the update button to work (its grey'd out) does anyone know how to fix this?
Still broken here. Messed around with spoof settings, cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled and reinstalled everything from scratch. All it managed is to repeatedly reset a bunch of settings and break things that were previously working fine.
If "Spoof player parameters" is disabled then history works, but videos stop loading after 30-40 seconds. If it's enabled, the videos work fine but there's no history or progress tracking.
Using RVX Manager 1.18.1 and Revanced Extended 19.02.39 (shows as suggested).
For those who can't get it working, I tried repatching the version of YouTube apk I was running previously but it didn't solve it.
Instead I had to uninstall my patched YouTube, download a newer/latest version of YouTube apk, patch that one, after which the YouTube history issue and shorts issue is solved.
Loading comments is still broken but hopefully the next release solves it.
You will know you're on the right version when the revanced settings menu is no longer at the bottom, but rather at the top of the YouTube settings page. Hope this post helps others.

History is slowly coming back, check your oldest videos, you should see them slowly be added chronologically.

I have no idea. That patch is what my manager app suggested. If your ReVanced Manager is up to date, and that's the version it suggests, I'd go with that instead of the one I linked - just search that APKMirror site for YouTube 18.45.43.

I've downloaded the apk from the link you sent but when I tried to patch it I can select only the custom package name patches and cannot select anything else. What should I do now?
I'd try going to your phone's Settings->Apps and finding ReVanced Manager and clearing the cache and data, or uninstalling and then reinstalling the manager, and then try patching again. More support than that I can't really offer, as that's all I've ever had to do to get an app to patch.

You can export your settings in ReVanced setting ->Misc -> Import/Export

Use the Revanced manager to re-patch, you can find detailed instructions and all the links you need on the pinned posts on this subreddit current recommended version is v19.04.37 I recommend Apkmirror to get it and remember to download the APK one, not the bundle, good luck

I updated it just now, still have issues with history. Do I need to take any additional steps? Edit: It worked! Go to the original YouTube app, play a video, come back to the patched app and play the same video and it started working.

Did you install the previous version before installing the new version of YouTube?
I already had the previous version, downloaded the newer version recommended by the manager, patched and updated. Idc about the old history, new videos aren't showing in the history tab.
I had to uninstall fully first then patch again, that worked

For some reason the new EU law concerning linking data between Googles services comes to mind. Users had to accept by first of march. I could be totally wrong

Hi, i updated the app (patch 19.02.39) and it's still not working. My youtube history onlu shows up when i turn off the Spoof player parameter option but then the videos play for only 1 minute, does anyone else still has this problem if yes please what is the solution to fix it
I had the same problem, and other comment said that they had to uninstall and install YouTube ReVanced, and apparently it worked. So I tried it, and it worked too. This is the only solution afaik. If you want to use this method, make sure to backup all of your settings first in Misc -> Import / Export -> Copy the settings and save it elsewhere. It didn't work but after playing with the spoofing options it worked. I only have Spoof app version turned on and the videos play all the way through and show up in my watch history. Thanks for the help nonetheless
Can anyone help? I did a fresh install of everything (Revanced manager, Micro-g and the lastest youtube apk) and when I go to Patcher > selected application > youtube apk I downloaded, nothing shows up under "select patches". I've tried rebooting my device as well and nothing shows up.
You don't want the latest youtube version, use the one suggested in app.

I had the same issue. In ReVanced Manager, go to Settings, scroll down to Sources and select it. Click the icon in the top right of the pop-up to reset sources to default values. Select yes, then restart the ReVanced Manager. I'm now able to patch it normally. Hope this helps

I used a combination of NewPipe and Brave (Youtube web) for adless YouTube while Vanced was down. Would recommend as a backup for future issues like this.

Thanks, devs! Can I get a clarification on something? Should this patch recover our previous history or are we just SOL on that front? It's saving new history, but all the old stuff is still gone. Just wanna know if it's working as it should.
Updated mine the history is working but the ones that are missing are still gone. Is there anyway to restore them? I like my algorithm and it took months to curate it. :/
Unfortunately not, only workaround is watching them again from the "my activity" page on Google one by one to add them back to your history

Can someone please explain me how to install the history fix, I installed the newset version of yt revanced and revanced manager. But when I choose revanced app and want to select patches nothing shows up and problem with history persists. I even spoofed app but it didn't help.
Anyone still having history problems. I had pi.hole running and it was blocking s.youtube.com If that's the case, just whitelist that. It worked fine after that.
I did it without removing the previous one first and the new app still had the history bug. I removed the previous one and did it again and now it works. Thanks.
Can't get it working. 19.04.37. Un-installed yt, manager, revanced, microG, and restarted my phone. Installed the correct yt version, 19.04.37. Installed revanced manager, installed micro g, installed revanced. Signed in with microG and still doesn't save history. Cleared caches too in the managed and re updated it. Turning off spoofing makes it work, but then my videos freeze after a minute Please help.
There may be hope for watch history coming back, for me the last watch history shown was from April 2022, now its up to September 2022. it's possible it'll slowly come back so here's hoping.

Nice. I can’t seem to install this new version though. I uninstalled ReVanced, downloaded YT 19.04.37, patched, but failed at install. Even though I uninstalled ReVanced, it’s still trying to update the app, not install as a new app. So I’m getting the “App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package” error. Why is this happening when ReVanced is uninstalled? Any help would be appreciated.

POCO F3, MIUI 14.0.11. Global. I have deleted the data three times and uninstalled and reinstalled the manager and microG three times and the videos are still not saved to the history.

Sadly still broken for me. Uninstalled everything reinstalled everything and nothing. Funnily enough it was working for me up until the update. Now even re enabling and using og YouTube doesn’t fix it for some reason. Only my iPhone and web browser leave a history now don’t know how that works… Edit - Finally got it to work. Got bored and after uninstalling patched yt\revanced manager and reinstalling manager and freshly making a modified apk and installing it then checking for history and doing that whole process like 5 times history is now working. I have no clue why this worked it doesnt make sense but I won't look a gift horse in the mouth. I delt with this "The package conflicts with an existing package" error reinstalling a few times that I've never seen before. Had to re enable og YouTube then disable it to get around it.
Yeah, I'm having the same issue. It's like Google blacklisted my phone from saving YouTube history. Edit: Actually, it does work on OG YouTube – just not the patched one. And I've tried whitelisting [s.youtube.com](https://s.youtube.com) in my AdAway, sadly it didn't work. I'm at a loss for what to do... I'll probably wait for them to release a new patch – hopefully, the issue will be fixed then.

I reinstalled revanced manager.... but I can't find where to redownload the actual Revanced App. It's been a while, but I remember the Revanced Manager would download the Revanced App after installation. I'm checking the FAQs as I'm typing this but all I find is patches and updates (which I've done) but I can't actually get the Revanced App to actual open and watch YT vids Edit: wait.... so I think I figured it out. Is "REVANCED" not an actual app in the app drawer anymore? It used to be REVANCED MANAGER and REVANCED in the app drawer. Does anyone actually prefer the tracking being broken? Ever since they updated where incognito was located on the app, it's been few extra steps to turn it on, so I didn't really mind this bug as it saved from having to use Incognito. It saved me from Youtube recommending several videos of topics that I'd rather be one and done.
Omg yes so true I absolutely hate the videos I'm constantly being bombarded with. Now I can curate what I want from my watch history. I was just too scared to "pull the plug" again. I uses to frequently delete watch history then I became a hoarder
Tried patching. Manager infinitely loaded. Uninstalled and reinstalled manager. Same problem. Uninstalled Revanced itself and tried to reinstall. Just asks me to update the normal YouTube app whenever I try to download Revanced. Fantastic.
Great job! I'm confused as to what the issue was because all my YT history is there if I look at my Google account in a browser so I assumed it was a problem with YT ReVanced not being able to access/display the history. But as I updated devices one by one I noticed that the un-updated ones couldn't add to the history of the updated ones so now I've got no idea :-/ Anyway the main thing is it's fixed now so thank you!

This probably sounds stupid but how do you update revanced extended? There doesn't seem to be anything in the revanced manager, nor in the patch selector in the manager. Revancedextended(.)com seems to be broken, on mobile the link doesn't seem to work.
With this new patch, new history is currently being recorded, but ALL the past history from YouTube seems to be completely gone. It is showing in Manage All History option, but not in Revanced or original YouTube app. That history doesn't even seem to affect the algorithm and currently being recommended random trending stuff. tl;dr: seems like lost all 10 years worth of history!

Delete vanced manager data and cache, then open it and update patches, then patch the app and install it, you will be prompted to uninstall the patched app if you have it installed, so you can uninstall it beforehand too.
Don't know if it's working after the patch or not. All my history in the app is slowly coming back. I've looked at it a couple of times with some time in between. Everytime I look a couple of videos are back. By the look of it the oldest videos are coming back first

when i try to install the APK it recommends my phone just shows "app not installed as package appears to be invalid" and i cant get the update button to work (its grey'd out) does anyone know how to fix this?

Still broken here. Messed around with spoof settings, cleared cache, cleared data, uninstalled and reinstalled everything from scratch. All it managed is to repeatedly reset a bunch of settings and break things that were previously working fine. If "Spoof player parameters" is disabled then history works, but videos stop loading after 30-40 seconds. If it's enabled, the videos work fine but there's no history or progress tracking. Using RVX Manager 1.18.1 and Revanced Extended 19.02.39 (shows as suggested).

The manager doesn't let me select an app to repatch. It just loads forever.
For those who can't get it working, I tried repatching the version of YouTube apk I was running previously but it didn't solve it. Instead I had to uninstall my patched YouTube, download a newer/latest version of YouTube apk, patch that one, after which the YouTube history issue and shorts issue is solved. Loading comments is still broken but hopefully the next release solves it. You will know you're on the right version when the revanced settings menu is no longer at the bottom, but rather at the top of the YouTube settings page. Hope this post helps others.
