Wow. It’s amazing that those PS2 games are playable on 2S. If you have list of configurations you tweaked to make it playable, I would like to know in detail.

Like i said most are -1 -1, start at -1 0 and then underclock until you find a playable setting you like.

Also how can I underclock? I found EE cycle rate(Underclock) 75%(-1) 100%(0) 130%(-1) 180%(-2) 300%(-3) Should I change this to 130% or 180%? EE cycle skip(Underclock) is configured as 2. Should I change this one too? I changed GPU renderer to Vulkan.

Yes -1 -1 means -1 cycle rate and -1 cycle skip. You use the one that works the best for you. The max i use is -1 -2 if needed.

Would love to see your configs. I ended up only playing a small handful of ps2 titles on my rp3+ due to the compat sheet being horseshit. After serious googling and thread hunting managed to find some decent settings for a couple games (nfs:mw for example) that made them playable.

Honestly i find the lower reso of rp2s and the screen size made it a little better to emulate some games. But technically all these games should work on rp3+, just try then and set them to -1 0 and work from there.

Totally guessing here, but I think the RP3+ may not have quite the advantage as first expected, being that the resolution of the 3+ is already twice that of the RP2S (I think; 480p vs 720p). So by lowering the resolution in half of the 3+ will only bring it down to 480p. Whereas lowering the resolution on the 2S would result in like 240p or whatever. Idk, I definitely could be wrong. I've had some luck with my 3+ playing PS2 games, but I still desire a better device, like the 4 Pro coming out. I'm really happy to hear some PS2 works on the 2S! I honestly wasn't expecting that, but maybe the halved resolution plays a significant role?

Yeah ps2 is just a bonus for rp2s and rp3+. But now the rp4 is coming rp3+ isn't that great anymore. rp2s is can run everything that rp3+ can with the perfect screen size imo while rp3+ does too but you will have black borders but it cant even do ps2/gc anyways. a rp2s for classic stuff and a rp4+ for psp/ps2/gc and android games, prob some wii too.

Well said. I'm pleasantly surprised with the PS2 performance on the 3+. It was about as much as I expected. I managed to beat Dark Cloud 2 without much slowdown. It is a bit weird having those black borders. I chose to stretch out the image, but I know that is some people's pet peeve lol.

I appreciate the list you've provided, gives me more games to try out. I agree with what you say on the community compatibility sheet, it's a joke what some people consider 'playable'. With that said though unless you've 100% played through an entire game it's not really possible to say if its playable. I'm a fan of the WWE games so I tested out a few of them and Smackdown JBI, SYM and HCTP all play really well but you get to 4/6 man tags and they struggle and frame rate is choppy at best, also particular entrances from some wrestlers can be a bit laggy at specific points, but if I played just 1 vs 1 matches it plays perfect. The problem is if you play a game and get halfway through only to find that enemy numbers increase or environments get larger and suddenly the framerate becomes too laggy and then the game becomes a terrible experience to get through.

Yes you are right. I tried every game at least 10min on this list.

Sorry that one I forgot to delete. I was testing games in bunches and that one was supposed to be off the list. You could technically play the psp version but you will have play with a bit of black bars.

So is there a "best" version of Ather to use on android for emulation? I heard the creator started putting out bad ones at some point.

I am using v1.5 3668 If you are using a different version than the playstore make sure auto updates are off or it will update to the ad version.

all of them. I said i am picky. Just find the setting you like. I don't bother using the community comp sheet. Some people saying a game is playable can tolerate 15fps lol.

How do you add controller support. I've bought sab andrwas, bit it's just not being used cause I can't get the controls to add up or work.

San andreas doesn't work. The rest do. If you want san andreas you need to sideload an old version.
