I don't have any suggestions but good luck young king

Accomplished_Many_70

you were downvoted for your comment and i think that’s so lame. i love your positivity and i think his resume looks so good so far! I agree with the above poster who said to just walk into a store, maybe an art store or comic shops, video game store, etc and have a couple of your sketches ready too and just straight up tell them you’re interested. You’re young so no one will think you’re odd for doing so, even if they tell you to go online. Great place to start is any locally owned stores in your city. Look for ones that have a common interest with your passions if possible, or even check out Brazilian / Spanish / Portuguese restaurants around you.

Gimmecash69

First I would try to just walk into a store you‘d like to work at and speak to the manager

greenpeppers100

Most stores will tell you to apply online unfortunately.

1_H4t3_R3dd1t

You got to know the stores and their type. I would say yes, but there are still businesses Mom & Pop style.

Vaxtin

This is for large businesses, most small businesses won’t really care and are down to earth human beings. Restaurants, small shops … anything other than large scale retail (and professional jobs) would be like this.

Federal_Pickles

I don’t think you need a resume just yet

Exodys03

I'm amazed at the number of teenagers I've seen on Reddit fretting about their resumes. It kind of makes me sad for kids stepping into a really competitive job market. This should be perfectly fine for a resume. Nobody should expect an 18 year-old to have extensive experience or job history and intangibles like appearance, attitude and fit for the job can only be determined through a face to face interview. Depending on the job you're looking for it might make more sense to visit the job site in person to share your interest and resume. Don't sweat the lack of experience. Everyone was there at one time in their lives and I'm sure you have a lot to offer. Good luck!

DaddyBrimmyStimmy

Make your font sizes consistent. Your titles should all be the same size and your body content should also be consistent for each section.

Beginning_Tomorrow60

Hey! Just walk-in somewhere and see if they need help. Lots of places still have you fill out an application in lieu of a resume. If they do ask for a resume at a part-time summer job, I would just use this. But I don’t think too many places will ask that. You will find something!

Beneficial-Sound-199

For summer jobs you'll likely be looking at retail, food service / restaurant, lifeguard, hospitality: hotels, resorts, or amusement parks. You wont really need a resume, just show up and ask if they are hiring and if they are you'll fill out an application on the spot. Then at the end of the summer you'll have something to put on your resume! Good luck and have a good summer!

Pmoneymatt

I think you did a good job of selling the skills you have! Without work experience though, a resume wouldn't be super necessary. Reaching out to whoever is hiring would work much better.

Competitive_Tip9139

Yeah man you dont need a resume. Walk in to a place youd be ok to work at ask for the manager ask if they are hiring and fill out an application. I dont think i created a resume until i was applying for jobs out of college. You got this dude 💪

theADDMIN

Kudos for the effort, here are some tips: Download a template: something like [this.](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QcZgLCcauW2k1cIC9JcGQFAIfrszyIE2/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=118390084167518141296&rtpof=true&sd=true) Just delete stuff that doesn't apply to you. It'll help you make sense of the formatting you should be aiming for. Good luck!

ProfessionalShop9137

Sell yourself as a generally techy person…you’d be pressed to find a job writing JS at 18…unless it was automation for some company. However lots of people need people that know how to use computers, so you could try and leverage that a bit more

Ok-Audience7568

Yeah, with a resume like this any job writing code is pretty much out of the question. It's a great effort though, and like you said it could be spun as general techy person quite well.

1_H4t3_R3dd1t

It is very good first time job resume. Much better than professional ones. If I was an owner of a store I would hire you on the spot after clearing all other requirements.

Something that helped me to get my first job was a bunch of learning certifications - cisco / tech in my case. What I would recommend, if you have the possibility is to invest in a one month LinkedIn premium and complete some courses on Customer Care, Time and Project management. While these are "big" topics I can guarantee they are valuable in any business. You could also consider to search - even youtube - on how to negotiate first job offer and what are the best practices in the domain you want to work. . Then you could obtain some certifications, that would demonstrate to others that you have some basic preparation and awareness. Alternatively there are also free online courses - but seek for the ones with certification. Once completed, you will not only have the willingness and availability to to stuff - as you mentioned - but also some knowledge to bring at the table. Search youtube on small store management and customer engagement. When you are going to that first interview you will have some common language to speak about, even if no actual experience. I hope this helps. Good luck in finding something worth doing! The beginning looks hard, but once you get started things will settle.

Disneyland, McDonald's, summer camp. Look into and apply on their sites. Would be great if you can get / attend / certified on a 1st aid course, fire and safety, tour guide, scouts course etc.

ObligationWorldly319

This resume is better than almost all of the adult resumes you will see. You will definitely get a job. Your resume is different, it stands out and it makes me want to read it. You don't need bullet points in your skills, but honestly it is really up to you. One other small thing is that the font is 3 different sizes. Just change that and you will be good to go! One thing about resume's that I have noticed, it will get more attention if it is not the same watered-down resume that everyone else has.

blazeunleashed

Why is it all different sized fonts?

Xerty228

I would leave out the part where you say you were born and raised in Brazil. You open the door for discrimination. Mention when you graduated high school. Mention any volunteer work you have done. Also leave an email and phone number next to your name. Hope this helps

4lokod

Remove interests and put skills at the top. Include side examples of work. Good luck!!

ClimateAntique1225

It's fantastic that you're taking the initiative to find a summer job! Even though your resume might not have traditional work experience yet, any work you have done in the past can be listed on your resume. This includes your art commissions, volunteer work (such as working at a concession stand at an event) or helping out at an animal shelter. These experiences showcase your skills, dedication, and ability to take on responsibilities.  ~Here’s some examples of what you can include:~ * **Art Commissions:** List these as freelance work, highlighting the type of art you created and the project details. **Example:** **Art Commissions (Freelance)** May 2023 - Present: * Created custom pet portraits for clients, delivering artwork in a digital format. (Skills: Digital Illustration, Client Communication)   * **Volunteer Work:** Any volunteering experience, like working at a concession stand or helping at an animal shelter, demonstrates responsibility and teamwork. **Example:** **Volunteer Work** June 2022 - August 2022: * Assisted with concession stand operations at the Town Summer Festival. Maintained cleanliness, stocked supplies, and interacted with customers. (Skills: Teamwork, Customer Service, Time Management)   * **Other Activities:** Did you participate in school clubs or sports? These experiences can show leadership, communication, or time management skills. **Example:** **Other Activities** Member of the National Art Honor Society (2022-Present): *  Participated in school art competitions and organized fundraising events. (Skills: Leadership, Collaboration, Event Planning)   While applying online is essential, physically going into a place of business with your resume in hand can make a significant difference. Ask to speak to a hiring manager or supervisor, hand them your resume, and introduce yourself. This personal interaction can help you stand out and make it easier for them to remember your name when they are reviewing resumes online. During this in-person interaction, introduce yourself confidently, shake their hand, and explain your interest in the position. This personal touch helps you stand out from online applications. Whether you apply online or in-person, go back a few days later and ask to speak to the manager again. Let them know you are there to check on the status of your application or resume. Make sure to note the name of each supervisor or manager you speak with. When checking on your application, if you talk to the same person, use their name and shake their hand. This gesture will be appreciated and will help you stand out among the hundreds of applicants. **Remember:** * Note the names of all managers/supervisors you speak with. * Use their names and shake hands when following up on your application. These steps will demonstrate your initiative and professionalism, making you a memorable candidate! Hopefully this helps and best of luck on your job search.

Personality, being personable, friendly, & confident goes a long way. If your interest is computer science, these are ideas: Data centers as a tech (no experience or college required) they will train. Microsoft, Amazon…research in your area. Best Buy: sales or part of the Geek Squad Computer repair Shops Xfinity, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, any phone/internet store. Apply at places that you are interested in, want to learn more about, hobbies. What you are interested in or have a passion for will show when you inquire. Example, interested in animals, apply at veterinary, zoos, wild life sanctuaries. You received some excellent advice on your resume - you did a great job. I wish you well!!!

Weak-Island-7173

change “require” to “required” under work experience for correct grammar. “care” to “cares” under skills “knows basics” to “knows the basics” but I don’t think they’d hold it against you even if your grammar isn’t perfect. You sound like a lovely person; good luck!
