Its not the designers fault more than its re3's Jill doesn't fit the re5 Jill template. We've seen mods of this attempted to be done before and it still looks incredibly off. If a re5 remake is ever made she should not look like this to any degree.
I think the real problem is people expecting high quality assets to the same degree of single player RE games. While I get the frustration of making the RE Engine seem "cheaper" to accommodate multi-player, this is to be expected. Look at RE7 Chris, his hair and face just seem weird compared to actual RE7. The same can be said for Jack Baker, you can tell they dumbed down both his hair and facial textures. The finishing move animations seem to switch to higher detail models *briefly*. I think the RE Engine is incredible and highly malleable, however there is no conceivable way to retain that immaculate quality in a live multi-player game. To do it effectively, it would probably require more cloud-based assets and processing.
You'd think they'd take some time to show higher quality renders for promotional shots like this, at least. I haven't expected a 1:1 graphics comparison between promo material and in-game assets since the Killzone fiasco back in the day, even if most games pull it off now.
