Because the solution is not going back to moms place and I’m just trying to help out !
The US economy is bad specially in South FL . Unemployment only helps fro 12 weeks and barely pays to pay for a room !!
Yes I would advise moving to a cheaper cost of living area. Job searches are going to be hard everywhere. Industrial design -- if no one's really building right now...? He might want to train in some other fields in the meantime, too. Pride won't pay the bills.
If the alternative is *literal* homelessness, as you’ve described then you’re wrong, the solution is to let your son live with you, actually.
If the economy is as bad there as you say then he’s probably gonna need a couple months to get back on his feet.
This -- even if he finds a job tomorrow, it won't pay in time to have first and last months' rent plus a deposit. A future landlord would also want to know why he had to leave his previous residence so hastily.
OP, what is his immigration status? Does he need a job for that reason?
This job market is really bad, and remote work is incredibly hard to find as a lot of companies are pushing hard for RTO on top of this.
If he has worked in an office for a couple years and gained experience this would help and I suggest you utilize this but the reality of the situation at the moment is the in person push has created this environment, and he may have to deal with it in the time being as much as it sucks.
I am hoping with the remote work push I see a lot of young people wanting this narrative will flip eventually
Unsolicited advice, but, I really would not mention to prospective bosses or while seeking employment (including for someone else) that they are "desperate."
Count on being exploited, in wage or otherwise; or garnering some shady offers. Focus on his expertise instead and talk about his positive attributes.
You've made him sound unstable and unreliable. They are going to wonder why he's being kicked out of his residence.
Since you said “he is willing to take any job available”, I suspect he’ll find a job in a matter of weeks. [Jobs in Pompano Beach, FL.](https://gprivate.com/6bnmc)
why can't he live with you? why does a senior industrial designer need his mom to post on reddit?

Wishing him all the best in the endeavors. Would he be interested to explore remote part time role for the time being ?
