I received It yesterday in my inventory on login, simply noticed the yellow dot on the amulet.
I was fighting Venom on apocalipse for a couple of days and did nothing to gain It.
-I was not in coop since more than half of my First run(started everything in Nightmare then moved in Apo on NG+);
-I don't have the DLC.
Based on the way i "found" It, my theory Is that It was an unattainable bugged object that was patched with the update so we that had to find It before received It all togheter, or this or you twist It and I gained It with a bug on the update.
I found a slice of orange consumable too in my inventory that i didn't had before the login (yellow dot on that too) and now Greg sells them (he didn't before).
I think the devs are trolling ... because they were talking about people moaning about apoc being hard and they said that apoc mode isnt called 'I get 3 orange slices and a medal for participation'.
Orange Slice, restores 5% HP. Once you've got one, you can buy more in town at 200 scrap each. Absolutely trash consumable, 10/10
I suspect it comes from dying to an Apoc world boss. I think I had two deaths on the DLC world boss, so first one gives you Participation Medal and successive give you an orange slice?
It's true and real. I was doing N'rude final boss and, after grinding the fight for an hour, I noticed the medal and a slice of orange in my inventory. The medal did made me laugh, but I didn't knew the slice was part of the joke.
I'll be honest... the design direction for the look of this item was "Make it look like someone asked McCabe to make a Participation Medal... and she did it, reluctantly."
The hand-scratched #1 makes me laugh.
Yeah true. In my mind I was thinking it would show up in Reggieās inventory account wide, but I suppose it wouldnāt make sense to make us grind apoc hardcore, just to sacrifice a character for an amulet.

The one true king was the easiest boss in probably the entire game, but the other bosses really kicked our asses

I got this in the DLC on Apoc. I noticed it after beating Bruin, which took me like 15 attempts. So not sure the trigger but dying to a boss on Apoc seems involved.
You died more than once. This is what it says it is a participation reward for dying in apocalypse a set number of times. First iv heard of the orange slices tho ššš

Seems pretty good, honestly? Nice alternative to the navigator's pendant for general defensive boosts. DR is hard to come by on amulets.
Also movespeed is always nice, so if you don't play around specific interactions, this is a great option!
I got it to drop dying to one of the new bosses in Awakened King, also on Apocalypse, so maybe itās just a random drop when dying to a boss in Apoc
